    How fast

20km takes me +-45-50min when commuting. Whole different scenario when doing meerendal or majik! Then 20ks could possible require me to overnight somewhere
  2. Ironically that thread has been locked but this one can still go on.. Do the two OP's know each other outside the hub If not they probably do now!
  3. Cool, my other favourite bike shop/supplier will be able to sort this out then
  4. Any advice on finding/sourcing XT spokes for a M775 tubeless wheelset?
  5. Seems my problems have been solved by just replacing the smallest chain ring!! Never before have I had such a clean and quiet drive train after this exercise!! Thanks for all the input guys!
  6. The noise only occurs when in the smallest in front and between 34/30/26 at the back In no other gear selection does this happen thus the reason why I'm completely stumped. To play it safe I've bought a new XT 770 22T front ring which I'll install tonight. Will report back after a test ride!
  7. Seems I might have overlooked the wear on my smallest chain ring... What do you guys think?
  8. I have a feeling you guys are up to something on the chain ring being worn. Just for peace of mind I'll replace the smallest rings in front tonight as I've been riding on the smallest one quite a bit just before doing the chain and cassette so the odds are very good that it's done and dusted..
  9. I also thought it's just me being paranoid but it sounds really awefull! Maybe I should just let my friendly LBS sort it out
  10. Morning, Recently replaced my chain(HG-93) and cassette(9 speed) and all goes well on the work stand without any noises. When I go for a test ride all gears are good and quite till I shift to smallest front ring and either one of the 3 bigger rings at the back. Then sounds similar to either misaligned gears mixed with bearings crunching start occurring. I've replaced the bottom bracket bearings, reset gears to perfection, checked chain links, checked front rings for wear, checked cluster lock ring torque, freehub still good. I've swopped my XT wheel with my wife's DT swiss and know my LBS has loaned me a Mavic crossmax wheel and the sound still persists. ANY idea as to where I can continue my search will be moerse appreciated as I'm about to join the looney club if I don't sort this sound out!!!
  11. Not to hi-jack your post but where can I get hold of 26" XT wheelset spokes?
  12. Jip, I think the old wagon trail is part of Schapenberg if I'm not mistaken. I went to kleinmond onver December and even the kogelberg trails were closed due to recent flood damage. Hopefully the powers that be will open some trails in the Sir lowry's pass area...
  13. If you find out more details on this, please share as I've always driving past there and dreamed of riding there!
  14. O hell this laaitie is in for one hell of a ride in future life! My mom stopped fighting my battles for me when I turned 6 and to this date I thank her for that! Sorry ma'am but you need to face the fact that you son is growing up and needs to pay real life schooling fees for his own actions. He placed the ad, someone responded, they agreed on terms and the buyer paid. Thus you are currently a third party and not involved with this deal. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, I think is the correct term here...
  15. With taking the risk of getting flamed for not reading through all the pages - can someone answer my relative soopid question? Will a M760 cassette work as a replacement for my current M770 cassette with a brand new HG 93 chain? This is on a 9 spd XT setup by the way..
  16. My racing ralphs also did this but I've made peace with it and just give it some air every 3 weeks or so..
  17. Jip, As can be seen from the photo taken we were standing at a red robot. Dear "Sir with a cap for a helmet" has his right foot firmly planted on the ground
  18. Is ok to ride without a helmet on a sunday morning... Is it ok if I did not query the rider because I feel nature should take her course with him??

Marquez all the way! Hoping for his sake all goes well and his team mate does not do the same as what happened at Aragon!!
  20. I think what he means is don't expect high performance and comfort(compared to Fox) versus functionality at budget price(RST). Don't get me wrong - I've ridden RST for years before I could afford Fox and there is nothing wrong with them but Fox is the Rib Eye steak and RST the T-bone in my opinion
  21. Great idee Claude! Ek dink ek kan namens 'n paar vriende praat as ek sĂȘ ons sal join wanneer dit op die been gebring word. Laat weet as jy iets/hulp benodig.

Got to give to Marquez, riding like that after a crash! You can actually see the determination to win in his riding style! Love it!!
  23. Been riding with the GEAX sealant from CWC and for the past six months have had no flats so can't complain. Also makes less of a mess than Stans. R199 for a liter and I've only used about 250ml(done 3 wheels to date). My 2c for a friday..
  24. DHL=expensive and never on time. I can vouch for this on personal and work levels..
  25. For roughly R5-7k you can get a decent wendy house - mines got a decent lockable door and burglar bars on the windows and behind the outside beams so this should keep them safe. And it give you decent space to work on them as well (although it gets some what hot in the summer times!)
