  1. Have a table at the Rusty Lady in Kensington tomorrow to watch the final with our usual crowd of season ticket holders.
  2. Great. Thanks V12. I will certainly follow up with those contacts.
  3. That sounds good about the manual. The type of info that helps me make a decision. What has been your experience with the popcorn machine?
  4. Manual is certainly cheaper. I may go for a system where I can program a profile in the machine or run it manually. Hottop make a machine like that for around 22k. The PC thing doesn't really appeal to me. I would have to buy or borrow a PC as I'm Mac based for the photo editing and that idea doesn't fill me with excitement.
  5. I am looking seriously at starting roasting at home. I have read up a lot, bought books, hung around on forums dedicated to roasting and spoken to local roasters. Not to mention countless interwebs resources. Hottop and Gene both make home roasters, prices vary from around 10k to almost 30k. At the top end you can write profiles on a pc and upload and on the bottom end you have to sit and manually adjust the temp ramp and temp by hand for the duration of the roast. Quantities per roast in the region of 350g to 500g Anyone here have any experience or knowledge or interest in this field?
  6. I am a Lions fan and have had season tickets for the past three seasons but I agree with you totally. It's not a matter of making all the lions Springboks but of getting the Springboks to play more like the Lions. Of course I think players like Combrink, EJ and Faf plus a few others should be considered for Sprinbok positions but we can't leave out players like Etsbeth. The point is if the lions can do so can others.
  7. Great vibe once again. Scoreline didn't really reflect the game I don't think. Fair to say the lions are on par with the Kiwi teams as some were asking. Actually way better. Proves to me we can do it n South Africa. The problem isn't the talent.
  8. 2% is easier to froth. Full cream tastes better. Worth the effort.
  9. Don't know if this has been covered here, it's a flipping long thread, but has anyone managed to get Showmax to work? I tried using the app on my smart TV but it kept buffering and giving error. Then when I upgraded the Apple TV I tried with the Showmax app with that but still no joy. Never made it through the trial period. Very irritating as the selection looks good. What is odd about it is Netflix runs perfectly. Virtually never buffers and great quality. No idea why the one would work and not the other. At the moment I'm watching S3 of Ray Donovan. I really enjoy the show. I keep thinking that sooner or later something must work out for Ray. So far nada.
  10. And we have seen what a strong domestique DI have become. Should be interesting.
  11. Got to start somewhere. I started with Ricoffee so you doing better than me
  12. He makes a fine coffee for sure
  13. Tickets for Saturday sorted. Interesting interview with Whitely this morning on 702. Was talking about how they plotted the opening moves of the game. Win or lose all I ask is some guts and attractive rugby.
  14. You mean like when they played the Irish? Oh no wait, that was the Springboks. Seriously though I have seen the Lions come from behind. They are fit and don't give up
  15. The Crusaders are a Kiwi side. They did pretty well against them
  16. At least the Sharks are consistent. I would say we have two consistent teams. Lions and the Sharks. One team consistently good the other consistently clueless. Lions had one really off game when Whitely was held up at gun point on his way in to the stadium shortly before the start of the game. I forget who they were playing but they looked a bit like the Sharks that day.
  17. Great game for the Lions. Really good vibe at the stadium. Can we just finally admit that we need more teams to play the kind of rugby the lions play. They are the only SA team that seem to have a clue at the moment.
  18. Now you have some inkling of how Lions supporters felt a few years back. Now you will see the difference between fans and supporters. Fans will start removing the Sharks stickers from the back of the Fortuners.
  19. Needs to be fixed. The format is not working. I'm off to the Lions game shortly. Hope they make a better game of it.
  20. Don't know why they don't. I never offered any opinion on that. Merely my observation that they don't. Could be many reasons.
  21. Because thousands of Gauteng people go down to do the CTCT but Capetown people very seldom move off the peninsular.
  22. That is beyond impressive. Replicating an already slightly dull route on a trainer.
  23. No more through town? Much more boring in my opinion. A pedal around the Northern Suburbs of Joburg. I liked Ghandi Square and the rest of it. Took a bit of bike handling skills. An element of risk. Something to look at. I think I might skip it this year.
  24. I heard that two SA players have tested positive for PEDs. Names not yet announced.
  25. Anyone passing through the Midlands pop in at Steam Punk coffee a few Km from the Mandela capture site. They just do coffee pretty much. A few muffins for sale they traded someone for with coffee. It's a funny place that might have been a petrol station at some point. Super friendly and passionate. Mostly just really good coffee. The owner showed me around the roasters and was very helpful and to me seemed knowledgable. Did I mention good coffee?
