    Rugby...

Well if last week we had the French B team what is this? Lovely game as well. Serfontein simply sublime. Never liked Etsbeth but I am eating my words on that one. Glad to see Jantjies hair stylist is still on form. Just hope the Bokke can maintain this intensity for the next 40 minutes.
  2. Once went to Italy. Stopped off at their version of a One Stop on a freeway. There were three baristas pulling shots and the coffee was really good. Wish we had that here.

    Rugby...

Perhaps but they are a better more mature team this year than they were last year and they didn't do that badly against the Kiwi teams last year. Anyway they are head and shoulders above of any SA team at the moment.
  4. I have had my Linea Mini for about a year now. Lots of advice offered on this thread from very knowledgeable and giving people. V12 even had me around at his offices and gave me a good demo and some very useful tips. Thank you V12 The machine we bought, well actually that my girlfriend bought me, was crazy expensive for us so was it worth it? Is the machine still running? Dam right it is. The novelty of owning it has yet to wear off. Still a bigger thrill and longer lasting than the new leather car smell. I have enjoyed making every coffee. The machine has run flawlessly. It has become increasingly difficult to drink coffee away from home. All you guys really helped.

    Rugby...

Enjoy. I love going to the rugby.
  6. You may have to factor an annoyed Mrs V12 in that amortization schedule and a cost per square meter for space in your kitchen.

    Rugby...

It was amazing. Ozzie commentators just about lost it. Said it was the individual try of the tournament so far.

Lions on fire. Destroying the Rebels. EJ first player in Super Rugby to score over 700 points I think they said.
  9. Obviously. Lightroom is a parametric image editor.
  10. The eye and the camera are totally different. The eye doesn't take photos. It sends signals to the brain and the brain makes up a picture. What focal length is your eye? What is the shutter speed? Depth of field? The eye has around 5 degrees are sharp color vision. It has huge peripheral coverage but blurry and in black and white basically good just for detecting movement. Your brain builds a picture with your eye scanning over a scene. Your vision has a large blind spot just off centre where the optic nerve enters the retina, your brain removes this for you. Your vision is 3D up to a certain distance. In short a camera never takes a picture like what you see. What happens is we are accustomed to pictures looking a certain way from previous technology. Technology is changing and so is how photographs look. All the above is not to say that at the moment awful cheesy techniques rule. This is due to lots of tech and little taste.
  11. Eaxactly. If a camera produces a jpg it is essentially pulling the data off the chip and rendering it to a particular algorithm which is actually an automated editing process. Cameras have become really good at this and in many cases will do a better job than a beginner working with sophisticated software like Lightroom will be able to do. However a skilled operator will always outperform the cameras automated jpg processing. The camera manufacturers design the raw file to be a little flat and undersaturated and unsharpened as these things can be done to taste but once overdone it's hard to come back from. The raw file is designed to be easily edited and is not expected to be perfect before the editing process begins.

    Rugby...

That's by participation which means nothing in terms of money generation. They still have larger attendance figures at super rugby in Australia than we have in South Africa.
  13. Was that Sagan again? Looks like he may have triggered that. Hope not.
  14. Any news on Sagan. I have been thinking about Sunday's off and the more I think about it the more sympathy I feel for him. While I'm glad PG won and it was an amazing solo effort the accident did ruin some aspects of the race. Sagan looked really shaken and he isn't easily shaken. Hope he OK for Sunday.
  15. He should do it now.
  16. I can hardly stand to watch.
  17. Gilbert earning his lunch money today. In a lot of pain.
  18. Just what PG needed. Looked like Sagan hit one of the barrier feet.
  19. What a beautiful ride by Gilbert.
  20. It's odd to me that anyone ever bought a bike in Belgium. I mean I understand ice hockey taking off in Canada and skiing in Austria and cricket in Australia. But cycling in Belgium is as odd as white water rafting in Saudi Arabia. Weather mostly cold and raining. Windy as all hell. Roads made out of lumpy stones or with a big expansion gap in the middle. Very strange anyone would want to ride a bike there.

    Rugby...

Nice crowd and lots of chirping in the stands last night. A very entertaining game. That Curwin Bosch is a right handful. What an awesome prospect. GO LIONS!!!!!
  22. Astounding how quickly these guys move in the one day races. How aggressive it all is.
  23. Have to support Boonen, for all the years of beautiful racing if nothing else, but I don't think he can do it. I'm hoping for Sagan and after that a Belgian. Belgian cyclists totally rock. To me they embody all that I love about cycling.
  24. I use PS and Lightroom professionally and teach them on occasion and after looking at your work I can confidently say you are doing a good job and have a good eye.

I love Ireland. Arrogant England think they are in the AB league. Not a chance.
