  1. Why dont you wait until the new 6.7's come out? They sound 'cleverer' than the previous set of 45's or 65's Front and rear specific rim profiles etc. Check their website here
  2. Giant Anthem X 29 @ just under R30k is pretty good value for money. Santa Cruz Tallboys look nice and are pretty popular. The new Scott Spark 29'er is worth a look as well. Not in the county yet though. So many more options are available for 2012. Happy shopping and post pics of what you bought!
  3. That Colnago just eclipsed everything in my mind. The New Hotness!
  4. Slightly lighter frame and some other fiddley bits including the aero doo dah where the fork meets the frame.
  5. They are doing a Save the Rain Forest theme for this year. From Bikeradar 'Their green theme, called Sky Rainforest Rescue and will be used just for the Tour, stems from a partnership with the World Wildlife Fund to help save a billion trees in Brazil. But as far as the team's Pinarello Dogma 60.1 bikes are concerned, it's more than just a new paint job.'
  6. Nice machine! Thanks for posting.
  7. Access to The Book of Face is blocked here @ work. Please could some kind soul copy and paste a pic or two for my entertainment. Thanks!
  8. They are also riding like two breasts. Luckily they arent riding over the white line (or inside the yellow line...)
  9. About R8k according to Obike

    JD Bug

LD Bugs are the way to go for getting kids mobile on 2 wheels. My boy got his when he was 2, but he was a bit short. Someone showed me how to turn the frame over so it was lower. Brilliant! (remove the fork and seat pin, flip the frame upside down and re-install) Apart from lowering the bike, it also makes the wheelbase longer and more stable. His transition to a pedal bike was very quick. Now time for his sister to follow in his tracks.
  11. Looks awesome! Congratulation. Is that from WEBIKE?
  12. A crushed bar, snapped stem plate or crushed seatpost could easily cost more than the R650.00 for the torque wrench. Not to mention the P.I.T.A. to retrieve stripped bolts etc. You are also not left wondering as you ride 'was that too tight or not tight enough?' and 'will my stem bolts snap or my bars slip ?' etc
  13. BBB Torque Tool @ CWC - R650.00 BBB Bottom Bracket Remover @ CWC - R180.00 BBB Cassette Remover @ CWC - R100.00 Chainwhip @ CWC - R100.00 Pedal Spanner @ CWC - R70.00 Allen Key Set @ CWC - R160.00 (Cheaper @ Builder's) Good cable cutters and chain tools are not cheap...
  14. No pics? !! ? Now you are more of a tease than Rock!
  15. Rather buy the tools individually. There are several on those kits that you don't need or won't use. (the cheaper kits often use bad quality materials, so you chuck 1/2 of it away) Park Tool is not the most well priced brand, so shop around and you dont have to buy cycling specific brands either - allan keys, screw drivers, pliers, spanners etc. If you are going to do this often and be serious about it, get a torque wrench. A workstand does make life easier. Add some music and beer to your shopping list.
  16. I hope they were interrogated before the cops got there and interfered... Like who is behind this and where are the bikes going etc.
  17. Nice work! Cant wait to try it all out.
  18. A thing of beauty. A mate of mine just got his new Scott Scale 29'er Pro built with. the same groupset. So much of nice!
  19. The chocolate one is a whole lot more palatable than the original flavour.
  20. There were pretty popular at Sani2C. Lots of people wearing them. Yes they look silly. Especially with shorts and flip flops!
  21. +1 Alu braking surface, so you dont need to change brakepads each time you change wheels.
  22. Go clincher for starters... Wind isnt a huge factor in Johazardousburg, so go for the 50mm range or so rather than 30mm You could pick up a set of second hand wheels for R3k or spend up to R45k for a set of Lightweights.
  23. I have the Giant and love it, so am obisoulsy biased. Get the one that inspires you the most and be sure to ge the right sized frame with a proper bike setup. Its no use having a nice looking bike that doesnt fit you properly.
  24. Saddles come in different widths, and so does everyone's ass. Why not get your sitbones measured as suggested above and get one that is the right width for you? Cut-out or no cut-out is a different debate. Pro's and cons to both.
  25. Aplogies if this has been posted already. Credits to Gary Perkin
