  1. Revolution Cycles on Bree Street is your closest shop. John O Connor Cycles down in Mouille Point is just wall to wall bike porn. I needed a cold shower after my visit yesterday. Crown Cycles in Claremont deserves a mention too. Not the biggest stock, but good pricing and great service. Marc is a good mechanic too. BMC in Salt River is highly recommendable. They are not a bike shop, but do bike maintenance only.

    Super D

Carl Decker won last year's Super D @ Sea Otter on a Giant Athem X 29'er. Stir Stir...
  3. You need a 142x12mm rear hub according to the specs on the link you sent. I dont think that is available in Shimano XT range of wheels yet. It looks like will come out in thier new 2012 M780 range: Shimano Deore XT WH-M788 F12 & R12 Wheels See Pinkbike.com
  4. This particular chap has two of these R5Ca's One with RZR's and one with Lightweights Money doesnt seem to be a problem
  5. Another obscene Cervelo R5Ca
  6. Several traditional 2 seater sports car brands have decided that they need to go 4 seater. It must be driven by request by their customers. I think they are ugly. If you want a fast four seater, get a Jag or Merc or a BMW or something.
  7. Bottom of the range Pinarello vs. high end Trek? No contest. (well for me anyway) Dont be too limited by either brand. Rather pick a bike with geometry that suits you best. When you are spending this kind of money, its worth spending a bit more and get measured and set up properly.
  8. What is our part and how do we make sure that we don't make ourselves vulnerable? Dan Plato says: Our message to walkers and cyclists is: don’t walk or cycle alone. Do it in groups and keep the phone numbers of the police and park rangers on you.”
  9. weights 5,74kg, size 58 (with P²Max powermeter) From weightweenies.com
  10. Specialized McLaren Venge Di2
  11. Cervelo R5Ca
  12. And nothing from Sram? Are they not participating in this race or are they keeping quiet?
  13. The price of the new group will be roughly equivalent to the current mechanical Dura-Ace 7900 group, which carries an MSRP of $2,690. The current Dura-Ace Di2 group retails for $4,680. The mechanical Ultegra 6700 group retails for $1,500.
  14. Perhaps your setup isn't quite right. Bars too high? Saddle too far back? Maybe get the shop that sold you the bike to measure you up and get you set up properly on your new bike.
  15. Nice! Congratulations! Where did you get it from?
  16. For people who dont want others to hear the splash?
  17. Yupp. That grates me. And those people with expired Wildcards who say 'Oh Ja, I must renew mine' and all sorts of excuses for not paying. The Sanparks guy doesn't get paid enough to argue with so many idiots people. He just sighs and lets them through. Seriously? With all the money spent on your bike and kit, and you cant come up with another R20 for a ride?
  18. What's up with you and your fascination with bum cream?
  19. If you are buying from CycleLab, they should be able to measure you up and suggest the correct frame. Isnt a proper bike fit part of the deal?
  20. I am no wheel builder, so can't get too deep in a technical argument conversation. But I understand that the double butted spoke stretches more in the middle, thus reducing the stress/strain at the ends where the spoke might snap at the J-Bend. That leads to a more durable wheel (?)
  21. I had a look @ your advert before I posted: Gold Hope pro 2 EVO Hubs DT swiss Champ spokes ZTR crest Rims BTW, Nice wheels and R4k is a good deal!
  22. Piktchas! We want piktchas!
  23. Stan's website says that the 355 29'er is out of production. Ngala's wheels are build with DT Champion spokes. Not very good for wheel building either (try and search more of JB's posts for reasons why). Also make for heavier wheels (will be more than 1700g). Hope's are XC orientated, but good/strong enough for downhill too. (ZTR hubs will be 95g/pair lighter though)
  24. Nice build and good looking bike! Congratulations and may you have many happy and safe miles. (Try 2.0 up front and 2.2 at the back)
