  1. I have the opposite problem. The screws holding my road cleats are too tight and I have stripped a few of the heads already. What to do?
  2. Wear Sunscreen (Baz Luhrmann)
  3. It's a lot easier to do a sub 3 from group C than it is from group L, so get SUPER fit asap and get some cracker results at as many of the seeding races as you can. Pray that there is no wind on the day of the 2012 Argus.
  4. It happened again! Almost 2 years later, the replacement XT hub's bearing race cracked in the same way. I had an interesting chat with the guys at the LBS about why Shimano hubs are crap. I bought them because I thought they were good! Anyway, it was about sealed bearings vs cup/cone/open bearings. Luckily I have a set of Hope/ZTR wheels for Sani!
  5. I would love to do this, but can't afford it, but I am interested in the route. Is it dirt roads the whole way? How much is on tar? Approx how many people do it? Are road bikes transported up by the support vehicles? And then both bikes brought back on the return journey?
  6. What is wrong wth the sched?
  7. Anybody can make a mistake, its how you fix it that sets you apart. CWC are quick to admit to and fix their mistakes if and when they make them. And it's not often. I have done 2 orders with Buycycle. One was flawless and the other wasn't great. Will I order from them again? Probably.
  8. For road riding, I use a magiclight MJ808 on my bars and a MJ818 on my seatpost. For nightrides on my mtb, I use 2 x 808's. One on my bars and one on my helmet. http://www.magiclight.co.za/_/rsrc/1291274408333/products/bike-lights/mj818/MJ818%20Tail%20Light.JPG
  9. 32.4 is quite unusual. http://forums.cervelo.com/forums/p/2403/14502.aspx If you can't find one, you may have to go 31.6 and shim it.
  10. $2500
  11. They are just under R30k - good value for money!
  12. Nice! My 26" Anthem X is about 12kg with Stan's wheels. To go 29" and weigh the same is awesome!
  13. She only went as far as Plett. Stop/go's were in Swellenday, I think. If you are going to cut across to George from Oudshoorn, you may as well stay on the N2 the whole way up. From Cape Town to Wilderness is fine, I hate the N2 from there to Storms River. After that, its fine again.
  14. I didnt get a good report from my dear mother in law. I reckon that road works will be suspended for the Easter Holiday, so I hoping that the Stop/Go's are too. If I was going to PE, I would go the R62 way. Fo Sho
  15. +1 You said it better than I would have.
  16. Awesome bike. Its definitely on my wanted list. Has anyone weighed theirs?
  17. From Brandon Stewart's Twitter: Dear Sram please can you do something about your XX brakes..... Would be nice!!! about 18 hours ago via ÃœberSocial Kevin agrees: Sincerely, collarbone. 18. From Kevin Evans' Twitter: Ours in May! RT @TheOldCootBiker: Best news!! Scott FOIL available in SA in July 2011! Info here: http://issuu.com/rideonscott/docs/foil_en 7:13 PM Apr 14th via ÃœberSocial
  19. I would throw a Tallboy into the pile of options.
  20. Who is going to build the wheel for you? Perhaps ask them? (I suggest Kevin @ BMC) I think DT Revolutions stretch a litte more than Competitions, so they need to be a bit shorter. Dont know by how much though. A PITA to build wheels with apparently. I am not sure about Alu nipples working loose, but I think they are prone to oxidising and fusing to the rim so that they can be adjusted.
  21. We are also heading up on Friday - early bells. I am hoping that they suspend roadworks for the weekend and its open all tha way. My Mother in Law is driving up today. I will get a report from her later.
  22. News24.com Traffic Report says that there are 4 sets of road works @ Swellendam. I would go N1, Worcester, Robertson, Barrydale, Oudshoorn and then across to Humansdorp. The N2 way is great until Wilderness, and then all the speed limits are a PITA all the way to Stormsriver.
  23. Scott website has been updated: here
  24. Will this movie go ahead seeing as things didn't really go according to script? I was really looking forward to seeing it.
  25. Their stems dont really grab me, and I need a setback seatpost...
