I have sold quite a few things and bought a couple here and there. All my dealings have been good.

Do it via your bike shop.

Without seeing it, I would say its toast. They are designed to absorb impact by breaking (a la crumple zones in cars). Just because you can't see the damage, it doesn't mean there isnt any. My helmet also looked fine after my crash, but the lbs showed me where the outer shell had seperated from the inners. Next time it wont do its job quite so well...

I ride with a 180 disc up front in hope that the bigger lever arm gives more braking power and the larger surface area helps to cool it quicker.

The group starts on Main Rd at the BMW dealership/Autohouse Angel traffic lights that lead to Landsdowne bridge. Average speed is about 28km/h and we regroup at the top of the climbs.

I ride in a group that starts in Claremont @ 5 on Tuesdays. We ride to Shark Bay (Fish Hoek), over Chappies and back over the Nek. Thursdays, its through Obs to Town and Sea Point over Suikers and home via the Nek starting @ 5:15.

Dont disregard the XT wheels. Good strong solid (but not light) build would be Hope on 819 with DT Comp spokes from CRC.

How and where is that done?

Is this Dave of cattleprod fame? After all the work you have done, its ironic that its you who is harrased by a resident.

It will lift your front end and make your steering slightly 'slower'.

Are your current XT hubs poked? Why do you want to replace them? Why not get more XT hubs? They are usually top of the list of good value for money hubs. XTR is well. XTR. Hope hubs are quite popular. Chris King are supposed to be great. Industry 9 are getting good reviews as well.
