  1. Yep An amazing marketing campaign cannot overthrow the best rider.
  2. I wonder how many of those chains were made
  3. Cycling is alive and well in Columbia https://road.cc/content/news/epo-doper-jarlinson-pantano-makes-surprise-return-300683
  4. It seems that he is more of a Volksie guy, but its probably got an unmarked Porsche engine in the back!
  5. I think that the Gabba has become the Perfetto. Or, the Gabba is now only short sleeved. But ja, they aren't exactly giving them away. https://www.castelli.co.za/collections/winter-2023-1st-arrivals
  6. The first set of stairs must be a new 'Huck to Flat' record! Some crazy scenes there. Great camera work too.
  7. Gore's magical shakedry fabric was supposed to be amazing. I think it was made from Unicorn and Mermaid hair. But alas, its no longer. I hesitated in ordering an Idro 3 jacket when they were 200 Quid on Merlin, but they are all gone now.
  8. That was fun ! Pity about being turned back at Chappies We were way behind, so saw the front guys come back down and turn left to go up OKW.
  9. Thorns Lots of them
  10. Looking forward to seeing more of this:
  11. The main Olympic store is pretty big and the website matches it. Not sure if the online store is fully up to date on stock and if it matches all items on the shelf. The Kenilworth store is much more modest with a website to match. Regarding stock and accuracy of items listed online: All of our favourite stores are a bit unreliable in that regard, so its often a good idea to phone and make sure before making payment.
  12. Weapon of choice: MTB or gravel bike ?
  13. That was Six Ay Emm
  14. Full Moon with some ghostly mist over Hout Bay last week
  15. Camp Ground Rd along to Liesbeek and Lower Main Rd. Church Street over onto the N1 and then peel off onto Marine Drive until you can get onto the bike lane. Cruise all the way to Melkbos. Easy. Melkbos to Mamre Rd towards Atlantis, Turn right onto the Philadelphia Rd, which goes under the N7 and you are there!
  16. Imagine the dance moves we are going to see now!
  17. I love things like this
  18. If the angle grinder didn't get you, then the vice will push you over the edge
  19. Should have played Thunderstruck instead
  20. And, that's a good thing, right ? I mean, so its in line with their other products ?
  21. https://www.competitivecyclist.com/rc/new-from-sram?INT_ID=AP_static-content|CC--202303---SRAM-Transmission_0-XX-SL_0_Freeform_CTA-FF_NA_20230404&ti=QVBfc3RhdGljLWNvbnRlbnR8Q0MtLTIwMjMwMy0tLVNSQU0tVHJhbnNtaXNzaW9uXzAtWFgtU0xfMF9GcmVlZm9ybV9DVEEtRkZfTkFfMjAyMzA0MDQ= We knew that they weren't going to be cheap.
  22. Reviving an old thread here Sizing is tiny and very skinny race build orientated. I popped in at their very nice shop on Somerset Rd and left there feeling more of a blimp than usual. Some lovely stuff there, so will go back before lunch, rather than after and try the tops on again. From what I could understand from the sales guy, is that Monton manufactures for other high end brands so they are legit. He didn't mention what the other brands were.
  23. I am always keen on buying new kit, but in this case I am wondering if there isn't a way of sorting out the front mech rather than getting a whole new drivetrain. Perhaps the current front mech is faulty ? Is there maybe a way of doing full outer cable to the front mech to protect it from muck ?
  24. reminds me of this
  25. I didn't know anything about it until it popped up as a 'surprise' on the Cross Cape Route. Awesome climb. Absolutely loved it (and I am not a climber), because the descent was an ordeal (on the gravel bike) !
