  1. Do you get cranky if people use 'Deep Dish' to describe their rims/wheels/hoops ?
  2. Depends if its the front fork...
  3. I thought my question was 'How long is a piece of string?' I am not looking for a better price, just availability Except that I don't know what I am looking for 🤣 He said something about armour cable at R 150/m. And it would be for internal use only. I currently have a 3kVa inverter and hope to get a 5 or maybe even an 8kVa later in the year. That plan was to get cables with that in mind. Breakers and Change Overs are all part of the package - it just seems that the cable is in short supply. I had better press him for more information and possibly a bit more effort... Next silly question: Are all houses 3 phase ? So, would that affect the type of inverter I would get ?
  4. I have a small inverter and battery set-up that I need to have connected to the DB. This would be to run lights, my PC, Wi Fi, house alarm etc. The electrician needs cable that aren't in stock and is being vague about what is required. The cables would run 4m from the garage to the DB (and back again). I will upgrade the inverter in the near future, so will 'oversize' the cables for this installation. Can anyone tell me what I need ? Perhaps I get those cables for him so that he can get going .
  5. Looks like the 3 of them finished joint 4th.
  6. I went with the Bontrager Ion Pro RT light as its 1300 Lumens and a bit cheaper than the Garmin Varia. It can also be mounted to a GoPro type of mount under your Garmin (if you have a mount that allows that). Not sure if the Garmin light comes with that sort of mount as standard (I think that it does). The Bontrager light can also pair with your Garmin head unit, but perhaps not as the actual Garmin system.
  7. That may (or may not) solve the dropout width, but you may have an issue with the rotor position.
  8. Post a pic of your headtube Does your bike have 27.5" or 29" wheels ? With a through axel or QR skewer ?
  9. What ever happened to him? Is he still in circulation (as a doctor or a scammer) ? According to his Insta feed, he is coining it on the Crypto Circuit https://www.instagram.com/illydw/
  10. The one can be plugged more effectively than the other...
  11. Apparently the sales of black insulation tape went up after that... (to stick over the camera on your laptop)
  12. This is pretty awesome Max Richeze, took the acclaim of the peloton before last night's stage having decided to retire after his home race...
  13. Yep. that Redshift stem is good at taking the sting out of the rougher roads. Not cheap when you discover the price, but the value is there when you feel it working for you. The C17 saddle that I got from @MORNE also has a bit of give, so helps absorb some shock before traveling up my spine.
  14. CyclingTips and Outside, Yes But I was referring to Wade and Caley's new ventures that @openmind mentioned. https://wadewallace.substack.com/p/onwards-and-upwards
  15. I am following their new trajectory with interest.
  16. Lets keep it going and see if it really kicks off tomorrow (Moer Mekaar Vrydag) )
  17. In this hypothetical situation where you were the driver and you knocked this cyclist over and drove over his bike - you would still get out your car and 'sort him out' ? I don't like that the cyclist kicked the drivers door, but there is a certain amount of understandable anger in that situation. Badly handled. But understandable... I was there, so cannot comment on who was being more entitled - the driver or the cyclist for squeezing through a tiny gap. Surely the car should have been sensible and given way ? Perhaps the cyclist should have shown a bit of restraint and done the same?
  18. The bigger question is why were cars squeezing past each other through tiny gaps that don't exist, especially when its not safe to do so because a cyclist is there. (I wasn't there, so am only guessing. Do we have to wait until Friday to throw petrol on this fire ?)
  19. Less cost of dent in her door ? Sounds like a strange and silly incident
  20. Stages and new version of the 4iiii seem to be OK on the 2022 Checkpoint
  21. Does anyone know what happened with this incident ?
  22. It depends on what sort of riding you do, and with whom. And also depends on where you live and where ride. If you could only have one bike and weren't at the pointy end of races, then that would be the way to go. 2 sets of wheels would close the gap. So would a 2x11 setup (unless you could get a big chainring to go with a wide range cassette)
  23. I have done the mast twice on a GG, but didn't enjoy the descent once you get down to the dirt roads. They are very rough and I was very concerned about my wheels. We came up the Wa Pad on another ride, but bailed and went down OKW as it was just too hectic on the downhill sections towards the boom. We just couldn't face level 5 and the whole descent to the car park. There are people tougher than my mates and I who do this regularly as well as the Blockhouse and Kirstenbosch loop. We feel that these rides are best done on the MTB for maximum enjoyment. But if you are looking for a challenge, or you only have a GG then go for it. Just because you can, doesn't mean that you should 🤣
  24. This guy has a whole Youtube and Instagram page of him following pros on training camps in Calpe and surrounds. The negativity comes from the comments, not this guy. https://www.instagram.com/artem4ik19/ https://road.cc/content/news/cycling-live-blog-17-january-2022-298679#live-blog-item-42341
  25. Tell us more about the incident (or post a link)
