  1. Dragons & Giant Cape Town didn't have, so was about to buy a Ryder light @ Bridge when I found that they had stock. What a find! They ordered the saddle bracket for me (+ 2 extras)
  2. Neat and compact
  3. The first steel frame designed for an integrated cockpit with fully hidden cable routing. https://officinabattaglin.com/products/custom-steel-bikes/power-plus-evo/ Battaglin will produce just 40 pieces of the new bike this year.
  4. This article is saying that aero is better than light Long Live Weight Weenies! Aero Weenies doesnt have the same ring to it https://road.cc/content/feature/why-riders-you-need-get-more-aero-213876
  5. Isn't that what they were trying to achieve? The bike industry has been pushing us this way for a few years
  6. I found a Recon TL 100 and the saddle rail mount.
  7. Is White Lines good? Worth watching? Yes, its Laura Haddock
  8. I would love to see your bike and it's details and what you would do to shave another kg off. weightweenies is full of that stuff - love it!
  9. Mine goes through patches of lining up and other times it stops a bit to the left. It may depend on how clean the group head and portafilter interface is.
  10. For some people its the other way around
  11. It's interesting to note that they have moved away from BB90 to the T47 standard. I think that many people will applaud that.
  12. This was great ! Another really good British series
  13. Safety is also an issue in that the Rangers and TokaiMTB bakkie are not patrolling so perps have free reign of the area
  14. Reviving an old thread: Any progress in products or technology ? I am looking for a reasonably priced light that I can mount on my saddle rails. Giant's Recon TL 100 or 200 aren't in stock. I don't use a Fizik any more, so my Cateye Rapid 3 (shown above) is for sale. Any other suggestions ?
  15. https://www.facebook.com/tokaimtb/ (The gate at the bottom is locked, but the trails are accessible from Silvermine side )
  16. That applies to many series
  17. You are right. I am very happy with my 2019 bike. It's not outdated and certainly not obsolete. But the release of a new model does suddenly age the current models. New model does look sleek though!
  18. And just like that, the Émonda SL 6 Pro I bought a month ago is outdated. The new version is R30k more and 1/2kg heavier, so that makes me feel a bit better... (It seems that mine is the last of the rim brake bikes)
  19. Since I added several people to my 'ignore' list, The Hub is a much better place for me. It was either that, or stop coming here. And that's just crazy talk...
  20. Yep, they just move a bit further down the road
  21. Running or cycling on your own in Cape Town is particularly dangerous at the moment - muggings and bike jackings are becoming a daily occurrence. Security in those hot spots increased, so the muggers just moved further down the road. Group activities are strongly recommended. Not sure what its like elsewhere in the country... The real police aren't interested in my group activities, so I will take my chances with the Facebook and Strava police, but not with any criminals...
  22. We may be Level 3 on paper, but it seems that many people have been on Level 1 for a while already.
  23. Trigger alert: Wearing of masks in public spaces - Is it a rule, guideline or the law? And if we are going to be pedantic, are we breaking the law to pull your buff down (while riding on your own of course) to take a drink from your bottle ?
  24. Coffee shops are open for 'take away only' and are very busy serving to runners, walkers, pram pushers, cyclists and drive byes. Depending on the location, day and the weather they have long queues of people waiting and hordes of people standing around and chatting. Noorhoek Farm Village, Kalk Bay, Newlands and Kenilworth are just a few examples.
  25. It seems that this is the image that they had in mind, and their study proved it
