  1. As a small shop it is difficult to buy from importers but have been lucky the last 6 years to get Maxxis which I used myself ( Recon Race ) and supplied my customers all happy. But when my supplier ran out of stock I got hold of some Vittoria stock running Mezcal on my Scalpel and am very happy with them . Low resistance light and hard wearing
  2. What happened to him is part of racing . Watch with him some pro racing . It happens there as well . I think he has learned , the fact that he tried to be right behind the seeded riders shows he has what it takes . But I tell the youngsters from the township that I mentor it is better to make up that half a meter gap a bit later than catching up right from the back.
  3. You need permission to cross private property ( Bosluyskloof) on your way to the ladder and then once again at the bottom over private property until you reach nature conservation property
  4. Awesome video. Saw their bikes parked at a local coffee shop sorry we did not meet .
  5. Sticking to the topic 😇 sometimes the margin between making it home safely or becoming part of the statistics is inches . Like about 2 inches today in my case . my riding buddy and me were cycling towards Prince Albert early today on the tar road from the N1 . We were lit up like Christmas trees I had my Varia plus my Bontrager Flash on my seatpost. we heard a car coming at high speed and were riding single file sticking to the very egde of the road . The @#$&% in a red Golf passed us at a guess 140 or more on a straight open road . Call me liar for saying 2 inches and make it 3 . Lo and behold few km’s on we saw the car parked next to the road . I was planning my shots and kicks . The driver was completely passed out . We opened his door he was out stone cold and unresponsive . A few minutes earlier he was hurtling that projectile at high speed . We stopped at our local police station and reported the incident and saw them leave with a van. Cycling towards town I was thinking of all our brothers who were doing what we were doing and did not make it . And was thinking of Jenny Munton still fighting for her life .
  6. And Vos wins the ladies race for Visma
  7. Hotspot in Pretoria had some stock not sure at this moment .
  8. Adjust your thinking. This needs time . I disregarded that advice and ended up having ops on both feet .
  9. Each to his own . But I won’t change to 1 x 12 . So many advantages of sticking with much cheaper cassettes chains etc . Yes 1 x is simpler and neater and lighter . I run 1 x 11 on my mtb …again cheaper than 1 x 12 and 2 x10 on my gravel bike . Just closer range on the 2 x10 is just so nice . Got my helmet on so throw those stones 😇
  10. Any news on the 2 cyclists that were hit by the motorcycle?
  11. I got hold of a an old DHC frame a while ago that was powder coated . Tried different methods and in the end got an out of job gent and left the frame with him with a heap of sandpaper. That did it
  12. Drikus has stopped due to dehydration. Control car is taking him to the race doctor. Massive effort by Drikus and something to be proud of.
  13. To appreciate Drikus’ effort Google the riders currently in 1 st and 3rd places
  14. Been following the race since Friday . What a battle at the front .
  15. I suppose each of us is free to decide when it is time for his “ eventually “
