OK, apologies. I stand corrected.

What I find a bit suspect (I may be out of line and wrong here, so I have blurred their names) that 4 females from C, D and E groups managed to beat the majority of female elites? Surely if they were capable of riding those times, they should be doing this for a living?

That Amashova time (2h49) is absolutely flying. I have managed several sub 3hr 94.7s', but the Amashova has proved a bridge too far. I came close last year missing the 3hr mark by 44 seconds. But if you can do the Shova in under 3, a sub 3hr 94 should be a breeze...

58 seconds out .... Oh well, always next year...

Ghandi square I felt was a bit of a fail. Nearly had a nasty prang there with some dude who thought it a good idea to swing in from the right and cut me off. Not his fault though, there seemed to be about 3 ways to tackle it?

If you know the numbers, you don't need printouts. I fetched 4 numbers yesterday with no paperwork.

3h15 in E is almost guaranteed if you get to the front and stay there. There will be very strong workers in that group.

You will need to be starting before 7, with (at worst) a 3hr predicted race time on your first lap, to get into the last batch to begin your second lap... The M1 re-opens shortly after the last batch comes off.

No females in groups A,B and C? Where is the fun in that?

I come from the north west, get off at Rivonia Road, turn right onto Van Der Bijl Ave (K60), and park near the top. It is a short warm up to the start, and allows an easy getaway when you are done...

One thing you can be 100% sure about... The N14 will be windy.

Shouldn't be too hard from group D to do a sub 3. I managed a 2h50 last year from D, and I was nowhere near the front of the group. Having said that, get into the pen early and near the front, and stay there for as long as you can. I think my avatar gives away what bike I will be riding...
