  1. But there would also a view to be made that people can change their opinions and what is important for them and what they will stand up for. I am not refering to her decision just in general that just because someone did not make a stand before they not allowed to take a stand now. what would be more important on how they act from the point when they decided to take the stand.
  2. Missed that one... maybe they ran out of t-shirts before we got there (as they also ran out of coke at some of the water points) Not to worried as it is always a challenge to plan for those things and luckily I am just as happy with cold water and of course the food made up for it. What was a nice touch was the number of places where you could go on the wrong route where they had those "x" to indicate it is NOT the right way, but assume you talking about more there after the halfway mark
  3. Had to go to twitter to find the results.. Top 5 Elite women: 1.@AnnikaLangvad 2.@robyndegroot 3.@bikesthi 4.@Candice_MTB 5.Alessandra Keller Top 10 Elite men: 1.@sauserwind 2.@MaxKnoxcycling 3.@alanhatherly 4.@GertHeyns 5.@Gawiecombrinck 6.@nicobellsracing 7.@lourensluus 8.@KonnyLooser 9.@JeremiahBishop 10.@MatthysBeukes jip, and there was some people wondering why they report the top 10 for men but only top 5 for the women
  4. The weather today was at its best, the route had its challenges and what they took away in total climb they added to the length. Rode nearer to the back with my wife and saw two big falls and a couple of mechanical breaks too. But all in all a fun day on the trails. ps the mosbolletjies was such a treat
  5. But the question for me remain.. how they will go with THESE cleats?
  6. maybe they used {insert your least favourite GPS device}, when they did the route profile. As the route profile is showing those numbers I tend to agree with you that it wont be that much
  7. Did they confirm the total climb on the routes too? 36km - 1400m 54km - 2300m Also signed up and looking forward to riding the trails
  8. With just an extra bit of wind love for those at the back
  9. Flip taking the wife on the 36km, and see that it is over 1400. Have done most of that route before, and a bit of an understatement about an odd challenging decent. What will be the saddest is of course the view of the dam, which is very empty
  10. NIce, need to remember that, always thought the Stell Cycle was the last seeding event for the next CTCT, with the 99er used for the next CTCT, never to old to learn something new, extra motivation for a good time
  11. my bad for not reading the full article
  12. Was this race not also affected by the fires in previous years?
  13. Me and the wifi has been entered ;-)
  14. Did it last year, not going to do it again
  15. What a race day, sooo thankful for that bit of a wind that kept blowing, never an irritation just bit of cooling affect. As a backmarker all went well with all waterstations properly stocked (so thankful after reading about other races where that is the biggest gripe). especially being able to stock up on ice. The single track at the end. OMW it is really something, however I did decide you won't see me on a hot day after 8 the morning. Overall the event had something for all and want to congratulate SANLAM investment and ASG on a well run event.
  16. I always love it when they have piesang brood on the table, they nearly ran out of water at waterpoint 3, but luckily they had lots of ice Yeah the start and bottlenecks at the start did make for some frustration, but I will look past it (and remember the lekker food and cold one they had at the end) Think tomorrow is going to go even better, but I am for sure going to try and start more to the front of the field
  17. Hope everyone that did the race today enjoyed it alot. The wind and sand made for some real interesting conditions. Enjoyed the waterpoints and the banter on the route.
  18. I got an invitation, only stuff in the bag was the two nutrition boxes and the Sanlam top and bib.
  19. When I got there someone asked the question, and they indicated that the "bigger" goodie bag was only for the online entries, but maybe I misheard them
  20. Did you get an invite? Think it was only the online entries that received the extras
  21. As a cyclist and motorist I really enjoyed the article. Like most things in life you first start with being more aware of your own actions before telling someone else to change their behaviour, my opinion and personal view is that if more motorist perceive that cyclist in general are trying to be responsible on the road there will be an increased likelihood that the future messages and campaigns by the cycling structures will be heard by motorists. It is not a valid argument or mature defence, when motorists say why should they change if cycling structures don't even talk or address their own members. But just because it is not valid does not mean it is the reality. As I mentioned, I enjoyed the article a lot and even became aware of more things that make sense.
  22. Got the same problem...
  23. Normally try it from the Hazendal side, just thought I would try something different as Zevenwacht is such a beautiful farm
  24. Did the "full" route of red /green/ yellow and blue today and wow it was just amazing flowing trail, started at zevenwacht so that initial 100m climbing did take me by surprise.
