  2. Contador used drugs - expert 30/07/2007 15:11 - (SA) Berlin - A leading German expert in the fight against doping claimed on Monday to have evidence indicating that Tour de France winner Alberto Contador had used drugs. Twenty four hours after the Spaniard donned the winner's yellow jersey on the Champs Elysees the expert, Werner Franke, described the 24-year-old's victory as "the greatest swindle in sporting history". Franke bases his claim on documents he says are in his possession from the Spanish police's Operation Puerto inquiry into Eufemiano Fuentes, the doctor said to have masterminded doping programmes for athletes. "The name of this Mr Contador appears on several occasions on the court and police documents," Franke told German television station ZDF. "All of this has been simply concealed and hidden under the carpet whilst the name Contador was erased from the list of supicious riders," added Franke. He says he has a detailed list of banned products used by Contador which appear in sworn statements following the raid on Fuentes' medical practise. "He took insulin, HMG-Lepori, a hormone to stimulate the secretion of testosterone and also a product for asthma called TGN - in brief I have before my eyes a protocol for doping," he told ZDF. "All of this has been covered up, at least in Spain," added Franke. Contador, who inherited the lead in the tour de France last week on Michael Rasmussen's expulsion in a row over missed random drug tests, denied he'd had any links with Fuentes' drugs programme. Speaking after Saturday's penultimate time-trial in Angouleme about why his name had been linked to Fuentes he told reporters: "I was in the wrong team at the wrong time and somehow my name got among the documents, but the UCI corrected the mistake and now I've got no link to Puerto." 11. MuXMan Dont feel bad. I just started cycling about 2 years ago. Rode out from Paarl one saturday afternoon towards Malmesbury... Guess what.. I was caught by a guy in a wheel chair on a climb. I only found out later that is was Ersnt Van Dyk on a training ride. Today he still ride a few cyclists into the ground on weekly training rides.. So maybe that little guy comming past you might have been not such an ordinary guy after all..
  12. Whoa... Anriete you go girl..!! very nice
  13. and to think a guy, that the stormers did not want, did it for the bulls... ....Derrick Hougaard wear the bull jersey proudly and I know a stormer selector or two who still wants to kick themselves for not ever giving hougaard a change. but at the end of the day the bulls as a team just played an awesome game
  14. and there they did it.. Now they just have to go down to Natal and thrash the sharkies.. Anyway congrats to the sharkies also. ... but I still believe the bullls will do it right there at the shark tank.
  15. cyclops fluid. Awesome
  16. Popeye.. What an eyeopener. I have done it a few times. Like the other say; You learn a lot, but be sure, it is hel while you are doing it but at the end it is really great. Could you get hold of them. If not PM me and I will put you in contact. however the last price was a bit over R300 because they have had a slight increase in price, but it is still a bargain. if you want to do it like every 6 months (like me) negotiate a deal with them and then you get it even cheaper. What is nice is that they also do the lactate at 4 millimol blood onset. Wees verseker jy gaan gesteek word... ek bedoel jou vingers..

  20. Do you perform 20 TT indoor or outdoor to get FT (functional threshold). I do not seem to be able to produce the same watts on indoor trainer than outdoors. The reason I ask is that during the winter month I will do most training on indoor trainer. IF I work on outdoor FT then I will die on indoor trainer. If I use indoor trainer watts and I will ride when weather in the cape permit during winter months then I might be way under. I ask the question here as there might be other hubbers that have same problem. Anyone of you that find that you cannot produce the same power on indoor trainer compared to outdoor test.

  22. Really enjoyed the prologue. However I need your input. I just have a BIG problem of riders having to do the ride in the dark. How could they let the riders only start 18:00. The main road and boulevard part was OK in the dark. However as it got really dark, the end was a huge concern as it ended with lots of turns and through areas without street lights especially past the munisipality building. If the seconding cars were not riding almost on top of the riders they had no way of seeing where they go. Why they had to end inside the stadium does not make sense. The entrance to the stadium had lots of loose gravel, not to mention the potholes. They could have ended in the boulevard and not subject the riders to face small fast turns in darkness not to mention gravel that can not be seen in the dark that was on the tar. I am amazed that there were not a lot of riders falling. Anyone of you having concerns or is it just me.
