:clap: Saw the guys there today hard at work the new track looks like it will be a nice ride cant wait. Looks like will be a good ride down as well as up , pity as then will be a hard choice the berm or the new track. Tried to get a bit of a vid of the guys but they were to far down from where I left the reign but might have a fleeting glimpse of them as i went down Vasbyt. Again thx to the guys that gave up play time for work time to make new trails for us

Welcome to the hub. What type of bike will depend on what type of riding you will be/ want to be doing in the future. if you just going to ride on veld paths, single track jeep track etc a good quality hard tail will be good. If you are going to be doing jumps etc then a full suspension will be better, that is not to say you cant do it on a hardtail just a soft tail can be more forgiving. The bob u talk about is when u put pressure on the pedal and the shock absorbs some of the force and compresses and then rebounds. Some shocks have a lock out where it locks the shock and so stops this etc. So shocks are clever and can tell the diffenece on force and bumps ie Pro pedal. But unless u a real race snake a lot of us live with the little bit of bob some of us get. clip in pedals wont make to much of a differece to normal with it as its the force u use on the pedal. There are pros and cons to both type of bikes, best way is to try a few out if you can to see which one u enjoy You wont get a firm answer here on the hub.

Hey Dont mess the tracks up on Sat Ill be riding hopefully . My one time a month. Will stop and say hi if u there. I will be on a Green Reign The berm should be a one way only. never mind a DH coming down there at full tilt. If im coming down and there is a person coming up no ways will i be able to stop or get out of the way and I am not the fastest person. Sorry but some of the trails should be 1 way only.

I ride up Vasbyt to just before the jumps on the open section with all the logs and turn off to the jeep track. No idea why u want to ride up to the berm Its as rocky and stumpy as hell. Must say though when riding up im always looking for ppl coming down and we always warn each other and move off the track even at the bottom part

OTM I dont think they moaning about vasbyt, as you say its ridable even on a HT so not to much challange for them. If they are, well sorry but its not a DH track Vasbyt isnt graded as DH and its open to all. U have just as much chance and going up someones behind if u bombing it down there. I have seen loads of guys struggle going down never mind up. i think they moaning about guys on DH1 and DH2 trying to ride up it.

OTM the problem is the guys are trying to ride up trails that are not ridable up. DH1 etc they see a piece of ST and try ride up it.

The trails are all marked at the start of them, name and type eg DH1 and a black diamond. But there are on no entry signs on the exit.

But surely when u see that its not really ridable up something should click in ur mind and say maybe we going the wrong way????

I ride up vasbyt but just to the top part by the steps, but always give way to guys coming down. But i agree that the Black tracks should not be ridden up.

Hmm no idea why u would want to try ride up the bridal path I have enough problems coming down CPT which is My roots??? Its the low ones near fairy garden?

If he is talking about DH2 then I have no idea why u would want to ride up that. If its Vasbyt u can ride up all the way to the steps. We do all the time but move out the way for ppl coming down. Most of the trails have signposts and grades on them. Maybe they should put up no entry signs at the bottom of them if u not supposed to ride up?
