  1. This whole doping thing is getting boring.... I suggest a ban on all road events period. Only roadies dope, mtb'ers drink beer.
  2. Then I would suggest not buying it.... You want the bike to at least last you a couple of years. 26" is at the end if not past the end of it's era. Only people still on 26" are hipsters and roadies who have a spare Mtb . "This is my que to run and hide."
  3. I would say around the R15k mark if it's in good condition. If it's a 26" then around R 550.00 !
  4. I'm on a carbon GHOST lector AMR and I'm loving the bike....4 bar linkage system ( Same suspension design specialized uses ). German made bike.... You don't really need to say much else.... Throw your money at it.
  5. Here's a tip........... Take R 500.00 a month and put it into a unit trust..... Then claim your own out bonus every 5 years.... Use your insurance, it's not a saving plan......
  6. That must be the ugliest bike I have ever seen.... And not only coz it says silverback on it.
  7. Sheez ! Seems to happen often in MTBing..... I knew someone who bailed so hard that when she woke up the next morning she didn't believe her family telling her she bailed in the race.... Initially her first thought was now she is going to miss tomorrows race. And that was like 30 km in ! Hospitalized for 3 days ! This whole memory loss thing freaks me out !
  8. How many Km is this trail ?
  9. I can't believe all the a$$ holes on the hub are over 40. Need to work harder.
  10. I hate them so much I said I twice !
  11. Can I take this opportunity to tell you guys that I I hate Avid brakes
  12. The only thing I buy from local bike shop are the things I need immediately. Otherwise I buy from either chain reaction or buy cycle.
  13. There's no better feeling in the world than pumping your way down a well manicured trail with no rocks that just flows bend after bend, burm after burm and drop after drop... I vote manicured trails any day of the week....
  14. Very inspiring and one of my bucket list races as well.... Looking at the online tracking gave me goosebumps... Incredible..... Epic looks like a XC race compared to this
  15. If hard work was the pre-requisite to getting a job I know of a couple of people who shouldn't be unemployed right now. Any way, I just created a scenario to carry my point. Fact is, you don't know what other people are going through, putting a cap between there eyes isn't a solution to anything. In a sick way, theft can be noble, depending on your perspective.... Think robben Hood.... Lol, how's that for funny ?
  16. Look, I'll be honest.... Stealing a bike IMO is not worth the death penalty, so unless someone is really giving me the impression that they are unstable enough to kill me, I wouldn't like to kill someone for my bike. Times are tough, crime is a symptom of these struggles.... If someone wants to steal my bike to feed his family and I put a cap in between his eyes I wont be able to live with myself. Even junkies have families who care about them.
  17. Great video footage..... Shows you how quickly things can happen. The element of surprise always wins.... Even if the rider was armed, he didn't stand a chance.
  18. I rode a 27.5 today and it was so bad I thought for a second I was riding a road bike.
  19. Look, I feel like I shouldn't comment because I didn't donate anything..... But I feel this might be worth the moneys attention : https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/139845-i-want-to-help-a-14-year-old-looking-for-26er-mtb-please/
  20. I think the right thing to do would be to give the money to Cyclesure
  21. Dude, if it was a cross country bike I'd see there point.... If I was buying a 150mm AM bike nothing should really be beyond it's capabilities.... That's why we pay extra for ALL MOUNTAIN tags....
  22. Worst of all, in 5 years time your still paying off a R 40k bike you can now pick up in a classifieds for R 4k... That's when debt bites you in the face. Paying off something new and shiny is nothing, the fun starts when you paying off something used, old and outdated....
  23. wow, interesting analogy. I'll be sure to think of this one next time I swipe my credit card. That's exactly what debt is. You spending next years salary and everything costs you 20% more... I think debt should only be considered when you can actually make money from your purchase, that's not often.
  24. Tried zambuck, works like a charm. I also heard chicks dig it ?
