  1. Oh and by the way supersport are chops. Trying to watch this streaming is so bloody frustrating. Streaming crashed in the last 250m.
  2. I been watching these two take each other on in veldrennen for years. I have always been in Wout’s camp. Somehow in cycling though I may have favorites but I am not devastated if they lose, especially if it is a good race. Well done to van der Poel, this will make his season. Pity about Julian, would have been an even better race had he not crashed. We get to watch these two race each other for another decade, awesome. One of the great cycling rivalries given that they have raced each other since they were teenagers.
  3. Am I the only one who can’t believe the Ronde is not live on Supersport? Second biggest one day race of the year, this year the biggest as there is no Roubaix. I know we will be able to find a stream, but they have a nasty habit of hanging at the most critical parts of the race.
  4. If I understand correctly the OPs issue is that you cannot get SLX chainrings in 36t, max is 34t. You can use a XT chainring on a SLX crank, but the color is slightly different, not sure if this will bother you. The difference between the SLX and XT chainrings (besides aesthetics) is the middle bit between the alloy carrier and the steel teeth. On XT it is carbon reinforced plastic, on SLX it is glass fiber reinforced plastic. The XT one is stronger and stiffer. That is probably why they don’t make a 36t SLX chainring, worried that it will be too flexy.
  5. Ronde not live on supersport?
  6. Most definitely, back in the day the most common cranksets were either 39/52 or 42/52.
  7. Thanks man, what a race. Of course the stream died during the sprint, as Murphy will have it, but by then I knew Mads would win. Bloody busy day, downhill, giro, GW, Paris Tours, shoo.
  8. Hey wtf? No Gent Wevelgem coverage, Paris Tours instead? First van Aert-van der Poel showdown!
  9. What BaGearA said. Contrary to popular belief, the brain shock service through the dealer costs no more than a regular shock service, and the turnaround is a lot quicker. Just don’t expect to get the same shock back, they simply send you an already serviced one. Regarding cost, I find it is in fact cheaper as no matter how buggered your shock is it always costs the same. At least that has been my experience. Can’t say the same for regulation front shock where I have got expensive service surprises in the past.
  10. My laaitie is gonna love this one, he only watches for the crashes. Can’t say I am that much different.
  11. It is like a super model, I am never gonna have one but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy looking at it.
  12. This may help; https://flowmountainbike.com/tests/review-12-speed-shimano-slx-m7100-vs-sram-gx-eagle-1x12-drivetrain-groupset/
  13. Shoo that green is pretty.
  14. Joh that middle frame is pretty.
  15. My road bike is a Hansom Reynolds 708 Classic, circa 1992. New paint job, new wheels, new 11 speed groupset, frame still going strong. Bastard thing just won’t break, so I still ride it and upgrade it along the way.
  16. Why oh why would they not have a frame set only option? Really pisses me off that Spez only offer S-Works as a frame set only option.
  17. So a bit is a delay in this, had a man flu interruption. Bike all built up and I finally have the setup sorted. Wheels replaced off the bat, got a deal on a set of DT 350 hubs from Benky here on the hub, build by Nick with DT XR 391 rims. Replaced the tires with an Ikon on the back and an Ardent Race on the front (both 2.35). I like the spez tires but the control casings don’t last with this knife sharp silica here is the magaliesberg where I live. Added a Conceal tool, got my Sahmurai Swords in my bars, trust XT pedals and a swat box. Swapped the saddle in-store for a Phenom which is my usual perch, tried the Power before and still prefer the Phenom. First ride wasn’t great, not fully recovered and setup wasn’t sorted. Let some air out of the front shock and dropped the saddle 5mm. Rode today and it was awesome. I come off a 2014 Epic Comp and there is significantly more grip on the ups without the brain. Where I ride there are steep loose climbs, made worse with the recent rains washing all the silica down into little quartz dams. I am not at my fittest at the moment and normally at the speeds I was riding today I would be losing traction (tires are the same I was riding). On the downs it is much less scary, not so much of an OTB feeling, of course the dropper helps too. My first dropper so still finding my feet here but seriously nicer over drops. The 4 pot brakes are unbelievable! There is a silly amount of modulation. I look forward to putting the bike through it paces even more in the coming weeks. The experience will only get better as I become more accustomed to it.
  18. Mourn! Was there last December for 4 nights, my first time. Rode my little ass off, I still dream about those bush tunnel trails. Real pity is that the wife and kids loved it too. Was planning to go back April, then June.... Stupid corona. Must say I was amazed how empty it was last December. There was hardly a one there and not on one day did I see anyone else on the trails, was on my ace the whole time. Well at least I got to experience it, but I am sad.
  19. Yeah don’t do it, just wait for her to get a bit bigger and let ride the ubiquitous black plastic motorbike until then. Both my kids started on the balance bike when they were 2 years and a couple of months. They literally figure it out in a day or two if they are tall enough.
  20. Thanks, it is a centerlock disk. Unfortunately i did not get any lockrings with the hubs, but did get with the rotors (Shimano). Besides warranty issues (I bought the hubs second hand) is there a fundamental issue such as thread size and pitch etc? The Shimano lockrings did fit, i could thread them by hand.
  21. It is a centerlock hub. Specifically 28h, straightpull, 350 MTB hub set.
  22. Hi Marc Quick question, can i use a shimano locking ring on DT centerlock 350 MTB hubs? Thanks.
  23. If you paint by then yellow they will look like minions
  24. Sissy, I hit 93 on Doreen once :-) That hill is a bugger, haven’t ridden it in over 25 years but when I was a laaitie I used to ride it plenty. How I got up there with a 42-23 easiest gear I dunno, I suppose weighing 40 something kilos helped.
  25. Meet Mbuzi, Epic Evo Comp. Wheels upgraded, DT 350 hubs with DT XR391 rims, grips replace with Esi grips, Conceal tool added and XT pedals moved over from my old steed. Put an Ikon on the back and an Ardent race on the front (both 2.35 and Exo) because the Control casing stock tires that came with it don’t last a second with the razor sharp quartz here in the magaliesberg. Will add a Mountain Bandit tomorrow, saddle bad and dropper are not friends. Swapped out the Power saddle for a Phenom, my ass’ favorite. Now I just gotta ride her, been friggin ill since last week so couldn’t ride this past weekend, there was a lot of forlorn staring going on.
