  1. Good to know I am not alone, got no heads up on this from reading reviews, install guides etc.
  2. I bought the Csixx “short” bolts, but they are too long. Don’t really like those Csixx bolts, they don’t have an Allen key fitting on the “nut” section so they are difficult to tighten and loosen. I learnt a new bike maintenance lesson yesterday. Never apply locktite until you are certain the bolts are the right length. I now have a crankset with a loose chainring but I am sukkeling to remove the bolts because they are locktited and I can’t hold the nut still because there is no Allen key fitting. School fees.
  3. I just bought a Power2max meter for my MTB. Would have had it installed yesterday but the chainring bolts I bought are too long (5mm).
  4. SRM really missed the boat here. They announced their pedals about 18 months ago, but took so long to actually bring them to market that Garmin snuck in. The DC Rainmaker review for the SRM pedals does also not shower them in glory, especially wrt battery life.
  5. Tim de Clercq is a machine
  6. Hah I missed your post and also commented on them. See I am not the only one who likes them.
  7. Ah the good life, did a nice 4.5 hour ride, now lying on the couch watching these okes clock by the kms. Got a good 4-5 hours of nap worthy riding to watch, before it gets exciting. Man those gold and black Colnagos of the Novo Nordisk team are pretty.
  8. I agree with Chris. A road bike will be cheaper, and better in the long run. You may inevitably find yourself Zwifting, the road bike gearing will be much better.
  9. So had an appointment with the sports podiatrist today. Got fancy shmansy insoles. I already had moulded insoles but they were not supportive enough. He had a good explanation as to why the hot foot got set off by moving from narrower to wider shoes. Reckons the narrower shoes were in fact supporting the foot from the side, and now with the wider shoes and not enough arch support on my current insoles the bones are pushing down on the nerve from above. I must be the only box around who got hot foot from wide shoes..... Insoles cost double what my shoes did! If it works it will be worth it though.
  10. So wondering what everyone's cockpit setup is for the race? I have a small conundrum. I run the Farr aero extensions because i like the extra hand positions. Would like to mount both my Garmin and light on the end of the aero bar, but finding the correct mount is not easy. I cant run my Garmin 520 on my stem because it's battery wont last the race and the charge port is not accessible when running it on my stem.
  11. I will most likely resort to tiz, but it is frustrating. Likes to crash at key moments, and at least with me it never runs for more than 15 min without crashing.
  12. Yeah got home, chilling on the couch planning my weekend. Thinking 5 hour ride tomorrow, get home knackered, do my chores and family stuff and then chill on the couch and watch Omloop. So start browsing the TV guide and what do I find? Nothing, the bastards.
  13. Thanks, I was also leaning towards Morton’s neuroma, as this is becoming so chronic that I can feel me foot does not feel normal even when off the bike. Don’t have the stone sensation, but it is tingly a lot of the time.
  14. On the ball of my left foot, around the 3rd 4th toe
  15. So I am gonna try and revive this thread. I am really struggling with hot foot, only my left foot though. It is a long story. Just over a year ago I got a new pair on mtb shoes. Moved from Fizik to Specialized. My Fizik shoes were vrot, and also very tight (broad feet). I have a set of specialized road shoes and find them very comfy and never got hot foot from them before. Despite trying to match cleat positions from then on after about 3 hours on the bike I get agonising hot foot in my left foot. I find this rather bizarre as I didn’t get it from the tight Fizik shoes, and everything I read about hot foot always refers to tight shoes as a cause. Fast forward and this has now become chronic. Kicks in after an hour and now I also get it on the road bike. I have moulded in-soles which I share between my shoes. I am training for 36One, and the hot foot is becoming a serious liability. At this stage I am more worried about my foot for 36One than my legs. I have had bike fits, have shoes that are not overly restrictive and custom moulded in-soles. I have moved my left cleat into all possible positions to no avail, currently they are slammed back as far as they can go. Running out of options here so any suggestions will be appreciated.
  16. That’s moebi, musta been frustrating as hell. I don’t have drop outs, have had before but that was usually bad WiFi. I now have the Apple TV connected to a WiFi mesh node with a LAN cable, much more stable and haven’t had any drops since.
  17. Thanks for the info. This is really perplexing. I have used this same Apple TV for a few years on Zwift now but this issue is recent. Only in the first few minutes does the trainer not control. There was a Zwift update today. I did a session this evening, same k&k.
  18. I have, driving me mad. Won’t control for first 5-10 min of workout. Happening on my new Kickr Core, as well as my Tacx Bushido Smart. Argh mode
  19. So I am wondering whether others are experiencing this issue I have been having for a while. When starting a ride in erg mode on Zwift, initially like for the first 5-10 minutes the resistance fails to control. I run Zwift on an Apple TV and generally connect sensors using the companion app as I have power meter pedals. I have had this on two trainers, and also have it if I connect sensors directly with the Apple TV and use the trainer as power meter. It always comes right, but it is moerse frustrating.
  20. Also my first, was entered for last year but Covid. Training going well so far, have a plan, mostly sticking to it. Long Saturday rides are hurting, with the recent weather I did a 5 hour Zwift ride on Saturday, eina.
  21. I rode there just over 2 weeks ago, before the block of rain. The condition is the worst I have seen it, and I ride there quite regularly, surely worse now. Nothing to be too worried about though, so long as you don’t moer it going down. If you take it easy there is nothing to be afraid of.
  22. Yes, Wahoo Kickr Core (from yesterday, before that wheel on Tacx Bushido), and Garmin Vector power meter pedals. In my mind the spin down should not be necessary as I am not using the trainer power measurement, but I do wonder if the spin down plays a role in the trainer resistance control.
  23. So random question. If I use a power meter on my bike instead of the trainers power while riding on Zwift, do I still need to calibrate the trainer (spin down)?
  24. It is made out of dark matter, it exists in theory but nobody can find one. Similar to the SRM X-Power MTB power meter pedals, they were supposed to come out towards the end of 2019, still not available.
  25. Also love the Phenom, tried a Power, my ass didn’t like it. On my road bike I have a Romin, but I bought it by mistake. My LBS is a spez dealer and so always has saddles taken off new bikes for a good price. The Romin and Phenom look so similar I took the Romin off the rack by mistake. My ass can’t taste the difference between the Romin and Phenom.
