  1. You need to lock that rear wheel down in case it bounces.
  2. Do you have a lock out on your bike?
  3. Called them and it is legit. A bit odd that its compulsory though. I suspect a condition of Mediclinics sponsorship that they are allowed to survey participants...?
  4. I would not take a set of Schwalbe's into this fight....
  5. Personal experience - I have run Nobby Nic and Maxis Ardent up front. Both are great but I slightly prefer the Ardent, its a bit more resilient than the Nic. That said - its not only the tyre to consider - your front end consists of a number of critical components to get you through a corner. The wheel and wheel size (lateral flex), handlebar, tyre (pressure) and the fork (proper set up)...dont think changing the tyre will cure everything.
  6. Thanks, just confirmed a move into the Race. The Ride doesn't work as its in the week. Thanks anyway.
  7. Work/travel is getting in the way of my adventure entry....anyone potentially looking to swop this year from race to adventure?
  8. Check your sealant - I changed and it sealed. Was using a thicker sealant (oko) and wouldn't seal the sidewall
  9. Ride it so it gets into all the gaps. the ride will also help 'adjust' the seating and fitment not too mention the sidewall seals.
  10. Knog blinder from Epicsports FTW!
  11. I'm in for a quickish 50 on Sat...
  12. This one? If it is. I had one. Brilliant bike! and one of the few 'real' Gary Fisher frames....If I had to be picky, the front end is not as stiff as you may want it to be (not a tapered head), but the bike is bombproof. Depending on the type of riding you do, the 26er copes with anything, but if you are taller than 6foot 2 and do marathons, multi stage, then look for a 29er. http://www.bike-trend.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/garyfisher-hi-fi-carbon-pro1.jpg
  13. You may be able to save some cash for a wheel upgrade https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/143702-merida-big-7-xt-edition-2014/

    sani2c Feedback

Most issues have been covered, and fortunately what people loved about the race. BUT once a precedent has been set, to change what is the norm without adding value is something fundamentally against what Sani is about. I refer to the extra R1000 cost to now 'park' the camper vans where they have been parking for years, and then still not providing electricity for them. The extra cost would have been a non issue (for most) if the vans could have plugged in.
  15. Go to bike basement in rivonia and use the prologo touch system. Measures your ischial bones and then recommends a pro logo saddle but you will at least know how wide your saddle should and the shape (flat or round, etc)
  16. I have used both and rate the SLX's highly. There is very little between them. Although the current XT's on my bike seem to be set up a little better in terms of feel and are as efficient, also focus on the disc they are stopping…makes a big difference.
  17. +1 for cyclefit. Never had issues post fitment and about to head there again for a new set up.
  18. I have just bought an Element and if that's anything to go by I would look at the Rocky Mountain Altitude/Thunder...etc...and then not every person has one either :-)
