  1. Do the appeal and re-submit all your doc's and address the reasons they cited for the refusal and you will get it...worked for me.
  2. New one is the Edge 800 with a touch screen - good response even with gloves on.
  3. I understand but the impending danger is the person who is gatvol of waiting for a passing chance - gets impatient and maybe doesn't quite pull across enough and clips a handlebar or a wheel - the trick 'somehow' is to prevent that scenario. The issue of - there is little or no traffic - it's the same as saying 'because there is little/no traffic, we want to sit next to our mates and have a chat and if you happen to pull up behind us while doing this - be sure to go around us.... the arrogance is astounding! It comes back to someone's comment - if you want to be considered traffic then you have to act like traffic. And no I don't have an answer or a quick fix, but you can be sure -it will get worse before any action is taken!
  4. Sorry myGT sounds like excuses more than reasons.....
  5. Edwin, the only real 'thing' to worry about is crossing the finish line ahead of the snobbery - thats the best feeling in the world
  6. Typically it's XL, my Fisher is 21" and classed as XL on the site. You also get 23" which would be XXL
  7. What he said. I used to run that combo and it works a treat. I'm currently trying a Nobby Nic on the front with a Racing ralph on the back - same concept and so far I am well impressed, but its early days....need to find some wet and muddy conditions...where are those rain clouds...
  8. Sorry forgot to mention I am running Shimano SLX brakes. As long as they say they are are Avid compatible then you are good to go. These look like HOPE replacements. These would work for you.. http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/BR279K00-Jagwire+Hyflow+Hydro+Hose+Kit+For+Avid.aspx
  9. Silverback is the better specc'ed machine. I like Merida's but am not a fan of the Merida green...
  10. Just swopped my black brake hoses for jagwire and other than the colour (white) the performance is not much different - if anything they bite a little harder which may go down to the hoses feeling stiffer - but that might just be me...). If you really want to upgrade performance look to using braided hoses.
  11. Just about 100% done and ready to hit the trails....
  12. I have XT's and this is not a biased statement. Just buy them, put yr UST tyres on, pump to 2.1 or so, get racing and forget about them....
  13. And yet deep down everyone wants one....the Pina SUV that is...All the above comments are made out of frustration and willing the price to be in the affordable range for you and I....I suspect these will look the dogs bollocks in the flesh...
  14. The above has put this one to bed then.... Mr Crasher (aka the Blur) - just bought a ralph for the back and a Nobby Nic for the front...will let you have an assessment after the first couple of race/rides....as soon as that bladdy frame arrives... For those on Monorails up front....you must spend all day saving the front end...and kudo's to you!... B)
  15. If memory serves - some Gary Fisher frames were 23" (XXL) and some Merida's also had a 24" but only by special order... My Merida 900TFS was a 22" and fitted perfectly, but then I am only 6'6" with a 95cm inseam
  16. **** good point sorry - thought you had the option to go disc.....then I recommend making an offer on ONETIME's s-works HT
  17. Lord Kayak!! My manitou sounds just right for you...and it has a 245mm steerer....see my ad!!
  18. No brainer...the New Garmin Edge 800..... http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/garmin-edge-800-first-ride-review-27494
  19. I believe Solomons is bringing in these 29er's
  20. Hi, I'm thinking of doing the shorter distance on Sat coz I'm doing the Dome2Dome on sunday... Very awesome machine you have there sir!! Happy trouble free miles ahead I believe..
  21. Nice one.....now post a pic of the bladdy thing already!!
  22. The Pro's should surely have gone off ahead of everyone and not had the issue of slower traffic? But I do agree if you are talking about the singletrack, where are you supposed to go? In general, respect for the faster guys is due where it's possible and make way, especially on hills so they don't lose momentum. I had an instance last year (one of teh Nissan series rides). Guy came up behind me (don't think he was a pro) on a singletrack and 'told' me to move over - bearing in mind that it was burnt grass and huge tufts on either side - he got 'told' back to F*&%*& off and go around me....
  23. Not sure if this has been covered (nothing under search). Question is: What needs to be done to a frame (besides cleaning it..) prior to it getting all it's bits and pieces tagged onto it.
  24. I used to use this stuff when I lived in the UK. Top products and environmentally friendly I do believe. When done guys!
  25. If I may I really prefer the subtlety of a Thomson seatpost and perhaps a black and white Ritchey stem....on this colour scheme.
