  1. Quantico is back. The quintessential guide for the ladies on how to save the world from bad people, being blown up, shot at, gone to sleep and just woken up, while your hair still looks a goddam GHD advert
  2. so true!
  3. Deep State. In my view, a british version of Homeland. But i like a good spy thriller. Krypton I find strangely interesting. No super heroism, and honestly, reference to superman is fleeting at best. But so far, good story me thinks. Some enjoyable skietskop en donner in the military shows: The Brave and Seal Team. The former is a bit too polished, whereas the latter is somewhat grittier, but if all that murica crap was sugar, my eyeballs would suffer diabetes every week. Suits: wow, it really found its mojo again. Been piling it up since the mid-season restart, and it did not fail to mega impress. felt like a fitting end of series, but there are major hints of potential show spin-offs. Loved it!
  4. i like where your thinking's at regarding rebuilding south Africa. I honestly believe however, the kick off has to come from government in the form of a national directive on re-industrialization. They should start with public transport. The roll out should also follow the playbook employed by Singapore 40-odd years ago. The current rush for free higher education (uni level) is both a waste of money and a misdirected approached to upskilling our population: We need more skilled laborers/artisans to DO MORE. If we broaden the base of lower income employment, we can more directly start changing the tide on unemployment. Even a low tide floats many ships. This aspect will require the assistance of private enterprise, and more importantly, a conscious acceptance by the populace that instant wealth is a falsehood of the zuma era. That is, they need to accept it will be lower salaries across the board and up the chain for a few decades, and that internationally attractive production will be the driver for increased salaries.
  5. i hope they booked more portaloos...
  6. holycrap, looks like AB is at the golf driving range.
  7. new schwalbe tyres? Referring to the Addix range or has something new rolling around for 2018/2019?
  8. in the middle group, but have to roll off course early: got afternoon shifts
  9. ya, i'll bet that dust is going to turn into tread-deep levels of super slippy peanutbutterlike goop that sticks to anything and everything. If it doesn't rain long enough that is.. I just hope the area is drenched before the race. super wet soil is so much better than just moist.
  10. pffft, local suppliers. thank heavens for the germans (www.bike*.de)
  11. silicon or expanding foam in the gaps between frame and wall or even gaps in the frame itself. That will accomodate for any expansion and contraction that eventually cracks solid fillers.
  12. Enjoyed watching Burden of Truth . 10 ep series. In general, i enjoy limited series. Writers forced to be creative over a compact arc, not an arc that milks all the cash cows in the known universe.
  13. maybe one day, some day, not too far off, we can win a world cup given all the talent littering the top ranks
  14. i have to ask given the recent scandal within the aussie team: did vernon really exceptionally well (he always bowls well IMO), or did the aussie capitulate. From the highlights i've seen on supersport, the aussie batsmen made an inordinate number of irrational shots. Their batting suggested serious mental distraction.
  15. the whole emotional show currently running feels like a ploy scripted by reputation manager. It's as if they are tuning into the public emotion the same way Cricket Australia did when it presumably formulated it's punishment of the perpetrators. Maybe if they tjank enough on TV and show how badly its been affecting their families, the same public can be used to bring pressure to bear on CA ito punishment mitigation. This is exactly what Thor Buttox was saying earlier, about taking pity being seen as taking the moral high ground. they same way they abused the adoring cricketing public as stepping stone to crasser and crasser behaviour, they going to use tears and sobstories to get out of their self-made quagmire. I say let them be an example to the future of sport. Old boys clubs be damned.
  16. I really enjoyed a linked article, The nastiest sledges in cricket. the Ian Botham retort was damn sharp.
  17. running scared much. frankly, the 'outlandish' penalty meted out to those directly involved, is as direct result of the national shame, which implies there's political pressure that came to bear on the situation> turnbull's statement on the matter sounded like a lot of personal conviction, which I would've been surprised didn't turn into action on behalf of CA. In in a few heavy blows, Aus as a cricketing nation has recouped the moral high ground they so often led everyone to believe, they alone could hold. Maybe it gets overturned, maybe it doesn't. but the fact they were willing to beat the crap outta their own countrymen, that takes some serious brassballs.
  18. Pole "Machine" first ride
  19. too soon for a Sonny Bill joke?

  22. the very definition of poetic justice: eating your own crow...
  23. lovign the savagery of social media regarding the aussies atm..
  24. nvidia in its own "ball tampering" row [H]ardOCP.com@HardOCP Well, to be fully transparent, I am not sure we are currently in a position to do any follow-up as NVIDIA has gone dark on GPP along with nearly every contact we have in the industry on this topic. Certainly we struck a nerve. Like the OEMs, I guess cutting off $ hits home. 3:48 PM - Mar 19, 2018 62 27 people are talking about thisTwitter Ads info and privacy Speaking of those very same companies, today a Reddit thread was posted claiming that Nvidia's GPP had claimed its "first victim." It also linked to various Amazon and Newegg pages which, to me, resembled more of a possible database error than an outright blackout of Gaming-branded Radeon cards. I searched for products like "MSI Gaming RX 580" and "ASUS Strix 580" and had no issues finding in-stock listings. No apparent foul play there. However, this prompted me to actually check ASUS and MSI's official websites. Nothing out of the ordinary happening over at Asus.com, as there are plenty of ASUS ROG Strix listings for Radeon cards. When viewing the MSI products page for AMD GPUs, however, their "Gaming X" branded Radeon cards are conspicuously absent. All that remains are reference versions of Polaris 500 series and Vega cards, or MSI's "Armor" lineup. That's beyond interesting. GigabyteGigabyte's 'AORUS' branding is missing from this Radeon product despite an identical AORUS item released previously for Nvidia cards. Adding fuel to the fire is a new oddity from Gigabyte concerning their AORUS gaming brand. The company had previously released two external GPU enclosures (boxes you can attach via Thunderbolt 3 to certain laptops or other underpowered PCs to enable desktop-class gaming). These were called "AORUS GTX 1080 Gaming Box" and "AORUS GTX 1070 Gaming Box." They include the specified cards. This week Gigabyte released one for the Radeon RX 580. It is simply called "RX 580 Gaming Box." No AORUS branding is present on the box or the product itself. It's the only perceivable difference. Is this the beginning of that exclusive alignment? Maybe, maybe not. It's not strong evidence, but it is evidence. And more will come. UPDATE: Gigabyte tells ComputerBase.de that this product does not have AORUS branding because it is "not gamer focused." That's interesting because this is their product page: Gigabyte.comThis is absolutely not a gamer-focused product... In my eyes this is cause for concern. Nvidia claims the GPP is transparent. Being transparent doesn't mean silently removing a gaming brand that your community has associated you with. Transparency does mean Nvidia actually telling people who their partners are. Here's to hoping that these companies do communicate with their users about the future of their Nvidia and AMD graphics cards. It should only take a matter of weeks to see if Gigabyte and MSI's gaming-branded Radeon cards slip away from retail and fall into obscurity after stock is depleted. I sure hope I'm wrong, but I suspect this is just the beginning.
  25. they really are drilling into this situation. analysis by mike haysman on the amount of swing generated by the aussies. given Vinnige Fanie's comment on the fact the pitch was effectively grass, and thus very unlikely to roughen up the ball that quickly, the stats clearly show an unusual situation.
