  1. I think many of the posts in the last few pages of this thread is missing a big point, and in doing so, perpetuating the misconception of a design flaw: it's not the sitting on the top tube that's the problem. That's static loading. It's the dynamic condition of a large mass shock loading the top tube that is causing the cracking. This was what the OP described, when riding the top tube over a rough surface. In my view, the bike has no design flaws. The OP violated the terms of the warrantee, but got away with it twice. He did not deceive Canyon, he was simply lucky they didnt' ask more questions upfront. Zero need to demonize the company or its products by perpetuating nonsense.
  2. based on what's going on in Argentina at the moment, not the boks.
  3. Rob Warner would approve of this comment by supersport:
  4. single card? perhaps. multiple cards. really, really stupid. also, with single cards, many PSUs these days suck air in from the top. so the card and the PSU are in competition. yeah, makes a lot of sense...
  5. small correction
  6. and other than cosmetic front panel changes, the PC case hasn't changed an inch: still a super rubbish layout internally, likely thanks to the damn mobo. eg: GPU cooler pointing down. ATX plug on mobo the furthest away from the PSU, so the thickest cable strand is the longest. lolwut seriously? I absolutely loathe a PC case. Just about Every single one out there is just lipstick on a pig
  7. Colleen Wing
  8. lekker bodycount. That killer chick is legit scary. Even though she was acting, if i ever saw her IRL, i reckon i'd be a bit sketched out..
  9. It's great! Very keen for season 3. that stuff was piled up for years before i watched it.glad i finally did.
  10. are those uPVC double glazed doors? Wherefrom?
  11. Shooter - one of those shows that feel like a movie. new in the skiet-skop-n-donner category, is Condor. i'm always good for some spy action.
  12. lol, that's some serious irony.
  13. internally, the marzo soul has been destroyed. That's literally trading on branding alone.
  14. DS S01 was strong stuff. S02.. it's taken me a while to get as stuck in as before. Any SL's Lucky Man series? love it! so quirky! so british! and S02 of The Sinner had a good opener.
  15. ya man, I'm lekker peeved at the canning The Crossing was interesting enough. As for Suits, I really thought it was dead and buried, and only a Chicago Justice replacement was going to replace it given the move by the former partner (Jessice Pearson) to that city. The last few eps of season 7 dropped major hints at a spinoff show, or so I thought. But at the same time, more screen time for Katrina Bennet (Amanda Schull) is always, always a good thing.
  16. Sharp Objects: the small screen debut for Amy Adams Intrigueing thus far. Colony: wtf! show canned. hotdamn. And sadly, they rushed the storyline in the last few eps. But what a great season. I see the cashcows are being milked again: The Sinner S02E01 out last week already. They can only screw this up. I didn't think that storyline lent itself to another season.
  17. those 'alterations' in the first pic are hectic! how'd you get the owner to pay for all that misalignment???
  18. Colony has been an awesome show since inception, but Season 3 is incredibly captivating. Absolutely top notch. Yes, its scifi, but the story told is very applicable on many levels relative to our real lives, and in many ways, reflects topical issues facing countries and the world. even without the scifi aspect, it's a very plausible near future for us.
  19. congrats bud. but I won't lie: I still feel genuine sadness that the two of your parted ways. I like y'all as a couple. But cheers to new beginnings!
  20. and no sandpaper needed.swak showing by the proteas. wtf.
  21. yes it does. It's a very cost effective replacement for tarring/creosoting poles. Boats, houses were sealed against rot and insect infestation this way for centuries. The problem you'll find with SA Pine is the age of the wood. Those growth rings are massively far apart, so there's lots of softer wood that burns alot easier than the harder growth ring. This changes the result of Shou sugi ban
  22. quite correct Ed. i've been doing variations of SGB for a while now. Light burn, hard burn, brush, no brush etc. While i love the effect, it's not what I'm after. thanks though RB for the suggestion.
  23. the tea is an easy way as i wasn't sure where'd i'd find the leather curing stuff. time to play around with tea and see .
  24. just read through another project, where additional tannins were introduced into the wood via water solution, same way tannins are introduced when curing leather. Apparently, this was to avoid the ebonizing not progressing to the desired black color (it would go grey instead during natural variations of tannin in the wood). maybe that's where the tea comes in..hmmm
  25. Ta for the advice guys. Did any of the guidance you offer, result in the following finish? This is what i'm after. I watched the vid associated with the images, and the person used a two part process of dye + stain to ensure full and proper coverage+penetration. But that's overseas stuff, so was wondering what's available locally.
