    2012 94.7

Did not have a great day on the bike but still managed a 3:49. Man, that wind on the Krugersdorp highway got to me. Was on time for a 3:20 when I got onto the highway. First uphill was fine, then it was over for me. Laboured back to the finish. What a pity that the TV coverage in the afternoon did not show more of the people that make the day, the social riders. Once again very well organised and supported by the spectators

Weather not look great for the weekend. Rain with 27km/h wind Eish!! Hope it will change dramatically as we get closer to race day
  7. Point is, he should not have doped. He (knowingly) had an unfair advantage over persons not doping. Cheat. If caught out, ban person for life.
  8. Bloody moron. The way cyclist are being caught out, I might end up being awarded the gold medal for 2011 Argus and 94.7. This is so bad for the sport I love so much.
  9. Wife is still at work, so I am passing the time on the internet. Thought I would see what's happening on CSA web site and in paticular registration for 2013 seen that it is a fiasco every year. I noticed that registration for 2013 is open. First had a look at the conditions for registration and cost. Was I supprised to see that the cost for a social rider like me is still R75.00 plus R75.00 for affiliation to Gauteng. The best part was that I need not belong to a club anymore!!! WOW Thought I would try out the registration and within 5min had myself and wife registered and a printout of our registration. Im shocked It has never been this easy. to whoever suggested the changes and implimented it.

    AMASHOVA

We could not have asked for better weather. Did the race from C group. Bettered my previous time (8 years ago) by 30 minutes (3:34). Wife and son's picked me up at the finish and spent the day on the beach at Umhlanga. Road surface was a bit rough somewhere along the route but other than that, thanks for a well organised race

    AMASHOVA

Plenty of climbing. Durban is not downhill from PMB. It's a mith.

    Amashova race numbers

Another delima. Have paid to have my number delivered to me by courier. Now truck drivers are on strike. No numbers yet.
  19. RIP Agree with the murder charges. I know this will not bring him back, but something should be done to people having drinks and driving on our roads.
  20. When will we have a race without wind???? This year is bad. Did the 60 with my wife. Just as well otherwise I would still be waiting for her. Thought the race was well organised. Agree that the start could have been a bit earlier.

    amashova start times

C group See last batch (P) only starting at 07:28 Eish
  22. EL for me
  23. Scotty, should have taken note of your comment. Eish, it is even worst than 94.7, Argus, Amashova,...... Started in the B group and it went well untill we hit the first drag about 3km into the race which ended 60km further in Devon. I'm not a great climber, so ended up doing 90km solo battling with the drags and wind. This is not a race for social riders unless you enter as a team riding together. Thumbs up to the organisers. The route was clearly marked and the marshalls very friendly. Will I do it again. Maybe the shorter route next year or get a few friends together to do the race together.
  24. Entrance fee expensive, but full road closure and the spectators make it worthwile. It is the additional costs to get myself, my wife and 2 bikes there thats getting to me. My 10th next year, so I cannot miss the race. Following year??, well time will tell
  25. Entry done. The new process is awesome and painless. Well done organisers My 10th next year
