  1. Any hints at what we can expect? A teaser at least?
  2. Heading up there this weekend for the 63km - looking forward to riding some of these trails! Keen for a beer or three afterwards!
  3. Shots Fired
  4. Nick I think you should definitely look at getting another feature on him - such an awesome achievement and generally an all round lekka guy!
  5. Guys I have a question about these - I have no clue about wheelsets. I am currently running a set of those stock Roval Alu 29" on my Epic. I am curious to know how much of a difference a set of these American Classic's would make in comfort and performance? ie. Would it be worth the R7 on a new set?
  6. My first DBX experience - dropped back and started the 68km with a mate in E-Batch. Bit frustrating with some congestion on the single track ascents in the first half but to be expected being so far back in the field. The feeding stations were exceptional and marshalls very helpful, encouraging people to eat and drink and much as they wanted. Those last three hills were tough! Awesome vibe at the race village, definitely back next year!
  7. Just entered the 68km - first Darling MTB experience and keen to test myself out there! Holding thumbs for some good weather but either way a cold front could make it a spritual experience.
  8. Guys, what is ride like? Thinking of making a weekend out of it but becoming a little more picky about the races that I do!
  9. That's good idea - thanks - strapped it to the seat post for the ride this last weekend but triangle could be a lot neater
  10. After having my Spez Epic stolen on Easter weekend I finally arranged a replacement. Thanks so much to Greg Minnaar in PMB - you guys knock the socks off any of the dealers in Cape at Town!
  11. Awesome video - never met Greg, bought a couple of bikes from his shop (fantastic service), on the whole he seems like one helluva lekka guy. Thumbs up.
  12. This is great. Can't stop the itch to get out and ride this afternoon ASAP after work!! Also an awesome soundtrack, suites the content perfectly!
  13. Sounds like a Jol!! Thanks for the report!!
  14. Great article Craig, sitting at my desk here and itching to get onto my bike!
  15. Thanks Hairy - do you have any experience with the S-Works Fast Track tyres - would the upgrade be worth it?
  16. 1. Yes, a tyre that will give me peace of mind and minimal hassles! 2. I am doing a couple of stage races this year - so something marathon like would probably be appropriate although! Reliability is important - I enjoyed the Crossmarks because I never had one hassle! No other real pre-requisites, other than not breaking the bank but that might be wishful thinking! What are your thoughts El Capitan and Hairy?
  17. Hi Guys, I have read through the last couple of threads but there doesn't seem to be a consensus. I currently running tubeless on my Epic with S-Works Fast Track 2.0" Tubeless Ready Tyres which have been okay. I had Crossmarks on my old BMC which were bullet proof but from this thread the consensus seems to suffer in wet and muddy conditions. I ride predominantly in the Cape, so Tokai, Jonkers (when they are not burning ) and Durbanville. Would it be worth swapping out the S-Works tyres, and if so what combination would be best?

  19. Just about to head off and go register - actually feeling very excited about the vibe on Sunday!!! And the extra couple of cold one's on Saturday night!!! This is going to be like no other Argus and reckon we are all fortunate to be riding...
  20. If anyone is feeling slightly miffed about the developments around the race this weekend this article just settled it for me - http://www.iol.co.za/sport/cycling/cycle-tour-think-about-the-fun-1.1827320#.VPgalPzLe3p
  21. Hi Guys, does anyone know if times for this year will be considered when they calculate seedings for 2016? Thinking of dropping back to join the Mrs and take it easy with her but don't want to shoot myself in the foot for a seeding next year!
  22. Lefty what is your feeling today - outlook seems pretty bleak?
  23. What do the international guys have that ours don't, apart from the moolah?
