  1. Went to Wilgers Casualties after I vomited again on the recommendation of an Oncologist on call. After waiting 45 minutes outside in the cold, I went to the pharmacy and got the medication that I could not collect this afternoon, and came home. If you want to see the results of Covid, try to get emergency care at a hospital
  2. Not very well. Saw the oncologist yesterday, my cancer count more than doubled in the last month. He is submitting a new plan for chemo. we moved last month to a little more wheelchair friendly place. Last week Sunday I started feeling sick. Had a few times where I vomited and my kidneys have been very sore. That is the main reason why I have been of the trainer. Today I had severe abdominal pain, woke up at 03h00 with the worst pain, by 11h00 I could not walk. So I called up the oncologist and saw him at 14h00. He gave me 3 drips full of medication and one bottle of pain meds. It helped at that moment. A little while ago I started vomiting again. So tomorrow I will have to get the darn covid test to get admitted to the hospital on Sunday. There is a chance that it could be a blockage. But I can only hope and pray that the blockage (if it is a blockage) will subside on its own.
  3. Agree. That was my number one way of visiting the site. But must say that without the tapatalk access my time spent on Bikehub has taken a drastic plunge. Pre update I had al least 20 minutes on Tapatalk per day. Now, it is max 2 minutes.
  4. Forgot to update my credit card details after the 2nd attempt in less than two months where people tried to clone my cards and buy a crap load of junk from Apple and Amazon. So my trail ran out yesterday and still waiting for ABSA to fix a few things on my cards and accounts, so reverted to another application… It was so boring I could not last 15km on it. So will try to sort ABSA out tomorrow morning to pay my subscription. Ride on!
  5. Put in a little bit of IDT time the past few weeks, but with Tapatalk not working I forget about the hub (the horror) Been taking day for day since the last radiation therapy. I am still very tired and for the last few days I do not stay awake after 20H00. But all in all things are looking good.
  6. One of the new maps done. wanted to switch to a MTB during the ride, but that is something I still need to master. With the trainer on 95% difficulty it was fun. But I still have a lot to explore. One month in and a new map is making choices tricky
  7. I just posted this in the advert section. If anyone wants these videos, please let me know or else it will be in the trash by Friday https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/indoor-trainers-and-accessories/473421/tacx-vr-ter-and-real-life-video
  8. Had my last radiation session yesterday. My energy has been at a very low level. The Oncologist wanted to book my off for the rest of the week and was a bit shocked when I said I will be returning to the office after the session. Zwift was off the books as the area is a little sensitive, so hope to be back on the trainer by tomorrow
  9. Thanks, MuttleyDoing my best at the moment. But some days are not that easy. But will be better next month as I will have a pain cave to set up in. Today is the first day that I have severe nausea and a total loss of appetite. I wanted to stop on my way home to vomit, and nothing takes the feeling away (might try weed later on) So I am not looking forward to next week where I have 5 days of radiation. But we can only take it one day at a time. And thanks again to the gents who helped with the purchase of the trainer. Means the world to us!
  10. Thanks, SirI got one on the weekend. Tested it and it feels kinder to the parts that got violated by the other saddle. Did a 15 km session last night and did not struggle this morning to sit down in the car but thank you for the willingness for the assistance.
  11. Sitting at oncology waiting for my first radiation session. They are only an hour late. The boss will be so glad...
  12. I did finance my Scott two years ago via a private loan from ASBA. Should you go ahead, make sure of the following: Get insurance on the bike before you leave the LBS. Accidents do happen and criminals are out to steal your new bike. No matter how good your locking system might be, the long fingered dough bags will find a way to bypass your locks. Insure your loan. Should something happen to you, your loan will be paid off. Just make sure to check what it covers as most financial institutions are outright bastards and will try every trick in their books not to pay off your loan. As stated they will slap fees on your loan. Make sure of all the fees that they will try to rape you with. They might look like the most helpful people in front of you, but they will be around the corner with the biggest object to get every cent out of you. Make sure of the interest rates. Standard bank quoted me one rate and then increased the rate as I signed the agreement. And you can try what you want to, most financial institutions are a faceless bunch that have 0 regard for your well being. They are out to make the most money out of you what they can. So be cautious and read twice and sign once (okay more like 50 times)
  13. Back then bikes were cheaper than cars.R136000 for a bike? I do not know of a lot of people with that kind of money in their accounts
  14. So I overdid it a bit. A combination of a crap seat and not being able to sit properly due to the colostomy I injured my Perineum the weekend. So today was a little tough on me. Just glad I was very busy at the office today. So will hit the cycle shops to get a new saddle that won't hit my Perineum. The big problem is that is where the tumour was removed. There is a little amount of muscle left at my rear (the reason why I need the colostomy). So it is still tender and an area that I need to nurse and tend to even though it is not being used.
  15. Just got news. I will be starting radiation therapy next week Wednesday 28 April Around 14H45.
  16. I have been using Zwift for a week now, but man oh man. What a polished piece of turd the product is in reality. I was more off the bike last night struggling with the trainer not connecting to the application. Then it lost the BLE connection to my HRM, then the connection to the cadence sensor. Then the app stopped working on my iPad. Restarted the app. Had to try and connect all the devices again. Got on the bike. Lost connection to the trainer. then I realized that it lost the last trip I did (not much but it was 8km) started up again, lost connection to the trainer and HRM. I was so frustrated that I stopped the suffer fest to get the devices to connect. I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong or if it is just Zwift being a polished turd. And if you are on the FB page of Zwift Riders, the amount of people being unable to connect is also a bit worrying. I might just try and use the Tacx software that came with my trainer and test that to see if that will work.
  17. Have a free month of Tacx training for anyone who can use it. Just pop me an PM and I will send the code tonight. It works with the following devices: What Trainers Are Compatible with These Apps?Tacx smart trainers that connect via Bluetooth are compatible with these apps. This includes: Bushido Smart (T2780)Flow Smart (T2240)Flux Series trainers (T2900, T2900S, T2980)Genius Smart (T2080)NEO Series trainers (T2800, T2850, T2875)NEO Bike (T8000)Satori Smart (T2400)Vortex Smart (T2180)
  18. Just came back from the Oncologist. We are not starting a new chemo treatment at the moment. But we will be looking at my navel. When the doctor saw it he said we have one option. Radiation therapy. The navel started opening up and the cancer cells are causing it to grow in a abnormal way. So the wound started tearing open as the cells do not get the correct information on where to go and what to do. So it sounds like the next two weeks (when Momentum approves the treatment) I will start the radiation therapy. Wo I will know by this weekend when we start.
  19. You saw the IMDB rating? Tried watching 5 minutes of the movie... Aka the intro. Decided to give it a skip.
  20. Nobody was a worthwhile movie. Plenty of action and not a predictable movie like most of the movies nowadays. And it scored 0 on the sleep meter.
  21. Time to set the sails
  22. Thanks Block I got a direct mount trainer, so will not be able to use the wheel... There might be someone else who might be able to use it though?
  23. A shoutout to @Markellis for also contributing to the fund for the trainer, Thank you Sir. It is really appreciated. Will try to take a spin again tonight. The flu injection is taking a bit of a toll on me... I think I must start getting my ink on paper on what Bikehub has done for me over the past two and a half years. This community of cyclists are AMAZING! Thanks again everyone for being there for me through this trying times. If I did not have Reinet and you guys and girls around, I would have offed myself long ago, but I have something to fight for, and I will fight this disease till I can't breath anymore! This cancer chose the wrong dude to screw with!
  24. Spotted this very simple design on Youtube this morning Anyone with more ideas for the DIY bikers out there?
