  1. Thanks, but I have a mother of a fan. I just have to adjust it to work. It was a little low.But that looks like something that can move huge volumes of air [emoji23]
  2. I could only do 5km tonight. Started feeling very nauseous and dizzy. Guess my body will take some time to get with the program. Thank you to every one for the support over the past two years. Some days have been bloody bad, but I have a mission and I can’t let everyone on Bikehub down! I have to win this!
  3. Trainer collected. Little on the heavy side, but will be able to manage. Can't wait till the end of today... I wanna go and ride!!!
  4. It is one of the bests of 2021 this far. We really enjoyed it, just because it was not the junk the USA pumps out these days
  5. My wife loves her mushrooms. But mushrooms is a high risk food for me. I can tolerate a bit of mushrooms, but I tend to get very sick from it because it takes a bit longer to digest. So I run a risk of landing in the hospital with every bite. But I must say, you can't make a chicken pie without mushrooms.
  6. A huge thank you to @Muttley for the help in the purchase of the trainer. And Mr Muttley is a huge inspiration for me and someone of note to follow on Zwift. Oh and well done on over 9000 km logged on Zwift Sir Reinet is really impressed.
  7. Just finished watching the last episode of Shameless. When we started watching the series in 2011 we opened our doors to the Gallagher family every week when they were showing. And I must say it is a bit sad to know they will never come to visit again.
  8. Made a purchase today that I hope I will not need to use soon... (but I needed it last month) Got a 2nd hand wheelchair. I really hope I will not need a wheelchair, but I needed a wheelchair twice in the past year. It is not the best chair on the market (Saturn Hercules) but I do follow the old boyscout saying of be prepared! So may I never need the wheelchair. But at least if I loose all the skin on my feet again, I will be able to move at least.
  9. ThanksThey asked that I bring the Scott to the shop for them to make sure it will work with the trainer. I am a bit sceptical about the gear ratio, but I have no idea how my body will react to being on the bike again, so I might dwell in the easier gears.
  10. I got the Tacx Flux S Smart TrainerWas R12500. CycleLab quoted R13999 for the same device, but they do not have stock in Pretoria. Garmin has the RRP as R12999 on their website. So I am glad that HotSpot Cycles had it on sale for R12500.
  11. Took the plunge and got a trainer today[emoji3060] Joined up on Zwift. Will do a quick test ride when I receive the trainer next week. I can’t wait to get on the trainer and get some kilometer on the bike.
  12. Thanks Muttley. Will pop you a PM shortly. Thank you very much for the willingness to help. Means a lot.
  13. Not yet Sir.They should ave it by Wednesday morning. Went to pay for it this morning. They only had a 11-50 10 speed sprocket. So might ask them to swap the cassette of the Scott... unless Zwift has some wicked hills.
  14. Got a trainer. The bike shop that did not have stock will order me one. The shop is Hotspot Cycles in Pretoria. Will pay the trainer tomorrow.
  15. Okay, another bust. We show stock on our websites, but our website is wrong. So the hunt continues
  16. I might have found a trainer R500 under the price on the Garmin Website.. Not like CycleLab selling the same trainer at R1000 more than the Garmin Website
  17. Thanks. Now I know that little information as well. Will have to do a lot more homework on trainers and the terminology.
  18. Was to late in any case to get the trainer. It has been sold.
  19. I tried to do some reading on ERG mode, but it all is vague in what it does, so I am not sure if it is needed or not. And I could not find English videos on the trainer.
  20. Sorry for only replying now. Had a crap day at the office today. It would indeed be an option. Contacted the seller.
  21. To be honest, I do not want to go 2nd hand. You always get burnt. I have had a few deals on Bikehub that were great, but should something go wrong, you are stuffed. And with this trainer we have a prime example. I have been looking at getting the following trainer: Tacx FLUX S Smart Trainer. I could have gotten one at cost but Tacx was bought by Garmin and my uncle does not deal with Garmin. this far it was the cheapest trainer I could find that was a direct mount. The plus is both our bikes have the exact gear systems. So swapping between bikes will not need a gear change or cluster swap. (yes I was lazy looking for parts between the bikes) I have to go with the direct mount as the wheel on models like the one I tried will not fit into out living room (did I say we stay in a really tiny place). So I will have to use it outside if it is a wheel on.
  22. How do you balance the charging of the cells? I know that is the number one killer of notebook batteries. I bought a load balancing charger (they use it to charge cells for RC cars) that we rigged to charge a light (LED) that my wife drop tested and broke. So we replaced the batteries with old notebook batteries that are still useable and changed a few things to load balance the batteries. I once started working on building a battery pack and got the load circuit to charge 6 batteries at a time, but I know you do get bigger load balancers.
  23. We assessed the trainer. I hate cyclists selling stuff that was wacked by lighting to people claiming that the device is still working. There is so much damage to the internal parts of the power-back that can't be replaced that it's not even funny. We tried looking for replacements but Tacx used a lot of modules that we can't get replacements for. The software and some of the videos that was suppose to come with the device is missing. So the trainer is a total bust. Just feel bad for my cousin that was taken for a ride by someone who must have known that the device was broken and beyond repair.
  24. Thanks everyone. At least I do not have to spend the night in hospital. That said if I feel any worst, I need to go to emergencies and be booked in. This is rather a hard blow for me to be honest.
  25. My treatment has been stopped. My potassium fell below the threshold. The oncologist wanted to admit me to hospital to monitor me. But we settled on three drips to replenish me. So I am sitting watching the liquid running into a tube to my port. He did not know how I was able to walk or even remain standing. Knew this morning when I could not wake up that something was very very wrong. Last night was also the first time in a very long time that I needed to take pain medication.
