  1. So often the backup service from agents in SA is not that great. Not the case with sportpro. On Monday my rear pivot bolt on my Virtue 1 had sheared off. On Tuesday I called Clive and Justin, on Friday I had the bolt. Very responsive and helpfull, thanks guys!
  2. @the_wes the Dirt rider sox are really good beats falke. Cyclelab also stocks them.
  3. Their Singletrack shorts and Dirt Rider Socks are the best ever.Good guys as well.
  4. @Spinnekop-No probs,Plesier.
  5. While we are hijacking the thread, renewing old acquintances, Spinnekop het die Middel arm vd Thule by jou uitgekom? Hijack Off
  6. @ Prozac works for me but just be carefull lot of activity in that area there are 2 spots close by that people also cycle form, but good thing is u cant get too lost in the Cradle
  7. Oh yes it is not Avianto Estate you have to go to for the start it is the New development that is next to Misty Hills. Drive past the Drift In and past the school on the Left, then hang Left and Left again.
  8. The Race itself starts off basically on some secondary roads for about 3km, then the first climb, then downhill and up again and over a hill and then u hit another secondary road. Up untill this pount it's jeep track and single track. Then the road leads to Beyers Naude and you turn right and hit the dirt next to the road, then into some singletrack next to the N14, be carefull of the tree over the track, unless ur a littley u wont make it under it, then a sharp right and a sharp descent and then back to the entrance then another rocky descent, last time they cut the grass and left it over the rocks so u might not be able to see the actual rocks, then past the river and over and thru Avianto then into the local spots one climb, some mud another rocky descent and then into Syribga Spa another uphill down again and then into Avianto. Repeat again for 50km race The race is average in terms of technical, tough couple of hills etc. but a good race to do.
  9. Bos if they make a tyre that grips on gravel over hardpack I'll take 10! My Ignitors used to do that to a degree better than Mt Kings. Seems that the most places where I almost see my...is on these surfaces. U know when your leaning into a turn and she grips and then looses it and hopefully grips again.
  10. BTW I emailed Maxxis a couple of days ago but I guess us here in AAAFRIKA are not that high on their list of email correspondence.
  11. @Giant let us know especially how they corner. So far I am still not sure what the main difference between the 2 are as the opinions seems to be split right thru the middle.
  12. @Big H and what is wrong with that people make money from supplying a service?
  13. Make that 3 agreements: those Spez Rib Cages are the thing. I have one mounted on my seat pillar and one on the frame and yet to loose a bottle.
  14. Agree with u Maxumus, I have Crossmarks on the back only. Can only also compare to Race Kings. Crossmarks are better than Race King in the back. They grip better in the rocky shaly bits. For me the key is a wheel that can grip especially in the turns.
  15. The question is which of these are best suited as a front tyre.Maxxis website very vague. Historically use to have Ignitors and then Mountain Kings, Liked Ignitors more than Mt Kings, Kings tend to grip in a turn and then loose grip and then grip again. So which would be the best suited for the conditions here in Gauteng
  16. Dont think it is about exactly how much miles but rather the Level of Intensity and the duration, so 4hrs at between 60%-65% or some say 65%-70% is better than just 150km. So the measurement here is intensity and time not distance
  17. If you are insured or not that is seperate from the charge of reckless and negligent driving. So lay the charge with the police in any case. Then do the lawyer thing with the RAF-don't hold ur breath and they will pay but very little-it depends on the extent of the injury. If u or he has insurance then get the bike etc sorted and let him pay. Glad you are okay-anything like that, that one can walk away from is a relief.
  18. @ Santa C, got this from a credible source not just chit-chat and gossiping in ths start pens. That's why I asked the question.
  19. Heard this morning at the Norie race that the DCM has pulled the sponsorship. Is that true, is it for the Road Team only or overall? Hope it is just a rumour
  20. Depends on which 96er. I have the same issue as Iron, so the geometry of the Merida suits. Not sure if Scott still has the integrated rear dropout, not the greatest design. Also look at what the spec is of the rest of the bike, groupset and shock, then compare.Dont just look at the name or the frame. But if I had to choose i would go for the Merida.
  21. Suggest you give the organisers a shout too, they might also be able to help.
  22. Bought my Ay-up Lites thru them, it got lost/stolen on the way to me and I have to say they weren't busting a gut to help me get a pair in time for a race I was doing.Would rate them average at best.
  23. @TNT1 the 28 is for the 28 million people that are affected by Cancer.
  24. Agree with you but why is he still at races? what does he want to achieve with that, he is no longer competitive and that t-shirt stunt, he could have borrowed a shirt, I am just trying to understand why someone would act like that?
  25. Not sure what to make of this, my question is why is Floyd still riding, has he not harmed the cycling enough to create a sideshow? http://www.oregonlive.com/cycling/index.ssf/2010/07/floyd_landis_makes_a_sudden_en.html
