    Rugby...

Yeah, but just a week earlier WP gave the Bulls a 34-7 hiding and 2 weeks before that the Sharks had their dose with a 50-28 hiding inflicted by WP. I'm more a Shark than a WP supporter (Bulls been the bottom, Lions on top) but they really deserved to be in the final but on Sat the Sharks deserved the win.
  3. I suppose it could likely be error, they started in the later batches so would have been caught and swallowed up by the shorter route guys and followed them and if there were no riders turning left they assumed they had to turn right. Frosty can best answer if their rides will be flagged or not.

    Rugby...

Must suck not to have lost a game the whole series, handing out some serious thrashings to other teams only to lose in the final.
  5. First overall female also came from JL group. Usual story, where long distance turned left towards Heidelberg on R23, some riders that started in the long distance batch turned right.
  6. Some blame must go to the riders. I stood waiting behind a guy who threw out his left overs and filled his water bottles with coke. My chirp to him about leaving something for others had him spin round, I then told him they also sold coke at the stands and he sheepishly slunk away.
  7. Pic 1 shows 2 routes, pic 2 it was not clear which direction to take. No biggie we took the right one.
  8. My 2c. overall 2 well run events, few minor issues with MTB event, my number board showed B start group for 34k but at the event B group was for 60k start group so my board should have read D group and on track some confusion with directional markers, other than that enjoyed the fast flat route especially as the next day was the 110km event, craft beer at the end for an enjoyable ride. Road race spot on, easy entrance and exit for parking, plenty marshals and well stocked WP, new route with closure on the the R23 section minimizing the impact of shorter and longer rider merge, cramped the last 10k's but boerie roll washed down with more craft beer soon had me smiling again.
  9. Provisional results are up, details still need to be cleaned up. http://results.racetec.co.za/results.aspx
  10. See you there, B (35k) for MTB and EL for road.
  11. Never too stupid old to learn, Wed I took dogs for a walk, get back and when I turn the key in my gate lock it snaps. I have palisade so there's no getting over that but my neighbor has a standard gate so i climb that then climb on the 6ft wall between us and jump down. Now as a kid we did this regularly and even used to jump off the roof for dares albeit on grass, besides been wrong side of half a century its also not a good idea to do it in sandals and onto concrete driveway. Sprained right foot has kept me hobbling and off the bike for 2 days now.
  12. Was at Brakpan Makro earlier and passed their sports section, no 5's left. It's obvious that whoever is buying these knows the difference between the usual "makro type" bike on display and these.
  13. More rain predicted for this Sat, if it remains dry for the rest of next week it will be ideal.
  14. At least it defaulted to the right folder.
  15. Results are available as a download.
  16. Expected wind and got wind, once again a well organized and challenging race with excellent host venue, R50 buys you a boerrie roll, 2 pancakes and cold drink.
  17. Took my Edge 800 into Navworld as it was not reading SD card, Navworld sent it to Garmin and found card reader was faulty, new 820 on its way at about third of new price and hopefully can pick up next week.
  18. Yeah, that can be quite painful.
  19. Is the Craft beer only on Sat.
  20. Like the Nike add goes, just do it. Something different from the usual medals
  21. Entries close tomorrow, windy, undulating and good value for money event with proceeds going to good cause. http://www.cycleevents.co.za/road-events/meals-on-wheels-cycle-race-2018/#more-18242
  22. Trail 5 is in same category as Specilaized Rockhopper but costs far less.
  23. Kudu's to Navworld. Took my 800 in on Monday for problem with device reading SD card. Notified today they are swapping it out for the 820 with part payment.
  24. . Happy Birthday Lance
