  2. As a cyclist on my way back from the Sandton clinic I found it appropriate to post these pics after having to drop off family members of another cyclist knocked by a vehicle in the middle lane on Witkoppen street at Monte around 05H15.(don't know the cyclist just done him a favour by collecting his family(Paulshof) and taking them to the hospital) I have no gripe with which club or person it is riding in such manner BUT stop assuming it is the TAXI or other person's fault when one close to you is involved. We are quick to point fingers and judge others by assumption YET we have guilty parties amongst ourselves. Coenie I hope your family never has to see you in the condition said cyclist was yesterday.
  3. Riding through Sandton and surrounds this is how some cyclists enjoy their morning rides. Note: vehicle protecting riders and robot adherence
  4. Few ladies that enjoy their bikes every weekend
  5. Some observations The plan has not even kicked off and already some managers are changing the rules to suit their needs. CSA development officer why are you quiet on this issues when it comes down to ladies racing and the team compositions? (Does the rules change for them) The rules seems to apply against some and not all Who is going to police the start line-up of teams to ensure fairness. Who makes the decision to DQ. a team on the line? Most interesting factor will be what happens down in the Cape between CSA and PPA now that the Giro was "hijacked" will PPA still control the rules of racing the way they have in the past and how will WPC fit into the program. How will a cat2 rider in Gauteng be seeded in a PPA event? for that matter what about a cat2 team going down to the Cape?
  6. Slowpoke pity she has Dad's temper as well, Slowbee as Eldron said we steal anything of value from our pale counterparts hence the sunlight bottle(by the way that is the Bottle that went missing at Argus and appeared on the SA Champs route)
  7. Was this the bike that caused your problems or this the person. My daughter and her bike
  8. CSA will do nothing about it they have bigger issues at hand. Simply name and shame the transgressors.Photo evidence will be welcome
  9. 16 year old B*tch rode the **** into cycling major no wonder he is frustrated( way to go baby girl)oh she just happens to be my daughter
  10. Easy to use once you register. Provincial payment system caught me though, was not aware about this
  11. Guys give CSA,Barry,Ciska and Hendrik the benefit and wait for the site to open to the normal members, some club administrators are giving them hell for nothing. if only we re patient and willing to accept change things would proceed much faster. CSA please prove us wrong at least this time around.
  12. Just got to love the emotions flowing about never-mind the injustice that the past brought upon a section of the population. Think about it for a moment had ceratin old toppies not made laws that divided the old SA where would we be today. The land of milk and honey been raped by all and sundry and to hell with the rest.
  13. I guess the A bunch riding in Gauteng will be more interesting going forward as it ill become the unofficial yardstick for recreational riding. Pantani will have to on the ball with regards the seeding ladder and points to be clear which races will count towards the seeding ladder so that we keep the playing fields fair. A suggestion to all the A bunch teams in Gauteng why not start a sponsorship for this bunch based on the individual and team placing at the end of season start looking after yourselves seeing that the province and national body not interested. There is no extra work involved as Pantani has the process running smoothly already. Some terms and conditions will have to apply to keep the game clean such as strict adherence to " NO- CHIP NO RESULT-NO PLACEMENT; NO MOVING FROM CAT.RIDING TO A BUNCH TO BOLSTER TEAM POSITIONS. Swift start the ball rolling with a small sponsorship of your favorite drink/bikes
  14. International exposure more favorable at MTN
  15. Best proposal thus far. how do you feel about the "Ability based seeding system"?
  16. (4.7 as well as Argus only use Ractec results, check on the fact-sheet of cycle challenge clearly stated " The Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge seeds according to the results available on the Racetec database, using Racetec timed events, NOT according to the Cycle Lab seeding index.
  17. The national seeding index will only pertain to races held under the timing of Racetec as is the current status of Argus and 94.7. I cannot see how SS timing or Championchip will be given a fair cut into the seeding table when PPA only deals with Racetec and we all know PPA has CSA by the *&^%.
  18. Let's wait for 2011 and see what backbone CSA has insofar as enforcing rules and regulations. On PDI's we don't have enough around to fill all the teams currently around and Roger and co. have not done nothing about it except have talk shops. In SA racing we only have two ladies that are PDI's who have the slim chance of racing against the current crop of lady racers, so what happens to all the race teams in this category Roger and co waiting for your answers on this, I cannot see MTN,Nashua/Cyclelab, Bizhiub, USN filling this requirement. Who is going to force race organizers to stage long distance races for the Elite/Pro Groups? Simple example of how some people manipulate CSA is the U2 concert next year getting priority over racing events. So Kevin and David has to chose between SA Road Nationals and Mountain Biking marathon clash, great. By the way PPA will still call the shots when ever the need arises and CSA will simply follow. Imagine the interest PPA/Cycletour is accumalating from the CSA membership fees they colleting currently on behalf of CSA, wonder why the option was not extended to 94.7 as well
  19. Agree Frosty, just pointing out how our administrators are taking us for a ride. Good example to follow is the people out in the Nort West who after getting an opportunity to rake in big bucks felt it better to contain their entry fee for the AGA (Two Provinces race) after Bakwena was cancelled Well done to Liefie and company
  20. Not correct. There is no charge by CSA unless you register a licensed team in any of the disciplines.
  21. My opinion is that PPA/Cycletour trust run CSA via the back door due to them having the cashflow hence they call the shots. That is one of the reasons for Racetec events been used as seeding events for the Argus, no matter how well your event is run.
  22. Simply open your own club at no cost to members if need be for social riding/racing In Gauteng will work as follows: Group of guys cycle together as club"mampara" your payment for year: CGC R75-00 CSA R75-00 Total R150-00 done. Other provinces clubs pay an affiliation fee per club to province + R75-00 for CSA no big deal. In cycling every event rips us off and yet we contiunue doing them yet the national/provincial body gets slapped for their fees. In Gauteng we used to do the inter-club events(old GPPA under Len Kline) at R20-00 per rider they were well supported with clubs entering around 4/5 teams nowadays you pay R110-00 per rider and the events still takes place without questions on the fee escalation.
  23. Guys race organizers are only in it for the money, they would not be ther otherwise, check the expense list they publish telling you how your money is spent and does not cover all their costs, what they don't show is the income generated from the event. Four years ago one of the fun rides had a net profit around 4.6 million rands and the club whom it is supposed to be organized around recieved ???????.
  24. Is it not strange that after five years of complaints about Cajees on the hub they seem to do better and open more stores. Last year they opened three and two more in the pipeline. Who then is making them rich if all you hubbers are consistantly complaining about them. By the way they do help in the cycling world as well. They sponsored my club for three years and currently sponsor another club on the West Rand.
  25. Morning sias at least with you I know what to expect the others who knows. I wonder how many of them actually show their maids and gardeners what they think about them and their families I can imagine them sipping hot coffee while Piet or Anna washes their cars in this weather or prepares their siblings for school and the like while they lay in their hot bathtubs.
