Once again CSA is been bashed for the state of affairs within cycling yet we forget who makes up the structures of CSA- YOU THE MEMBERS. Stop been cowards and blaming CSA why not start serving on your provincial bodies and get yourselves elected onto the CSA board and then control what you percieve the current CSA electorte is not doing. A couple of of months ago every Dick Tom and Harry was on the Lemmer brother'scase(Groot Lem and his beer, visiting behind the sheds etc,we had the influencial fathers/sons spat at SA's, suspension of Mrs Dale etc taking place within the corridors of CSA and none of you seemed bothered with the outcome of these yet now that it affects your sons and daughters you are all up in arms. 2010 around the corner and then we repeat the issues of licenses and so forth once again

What distance are we looking at ( 60km 80km 100km 200km) and yes either my trailer or the club's one will be available.

I have posted some figures of running on another thread. No matter what happens with prize money ladies will not reach the status or field size of men simply because gov. and sports bodies do not invest in the ladies as they the men. Ladies are always given the second best,why what is the motivation behind this? Anke, Ronel,Anriette, Michelle,Erica, Hanlie you name them they do their best with what they have and still no recognition from the sports bodies. Young Michelle Corbett raised funds to go to Europe this way what did CSA or the cycling community contribute towards her trip? I don't think much.

Trubie I suspect the R10-00 is for the online entry fee,seeing that we are months away from the event can CSA and the race office decide who actually supposed to get the day license fee between CSA and CGC who are the hosts of the event and does this mean CGC will not be getting a per rider fee, looking at the entry fee breakdown

Hubbers how about mailing all the trials you know to the mag then Intern can start a listing for the trials(who where what price etc)With more cyclists turning to MTB this would be ideal as the advertising from the race organizers does not reach the man in the street who you actually want to get into the sport.

You wonder why there are accidents in the groups and who causes these. Most of the time it is the newbie or dunce that thinks they now what to do in the group(Sound familiar to the Cape guys). I have ridden behind different groups at lots of races and seen some pathetic persons in bunches only to find out he/she is riding there because they can start earlier if the have a full license.

Guys Please use rationale when reading into ability seeding: Example: All local races based on Ability seeding- Rider with seeding index 0.0- 1.0 based in CAT A: 1.1- 5.0 CAT B and so on So when you enter a race you get seeded in the CAT your index shows, no problem here because you actually deseve been there. For teams it means you will be of same or similar riding ability to be in the team, not because you the financier or sponsor with an index of 20 . The provincial and national bodies will then be able to set criteria based on seeding ability for qualification in the various age categories example Elite 0.0 to 1.3 vets 30+ 1.5-3.5 vts 35+ 3.5-5.0 and so on One thing that needs to change urgently at national level is the manner in which one qualifies to ride SA's. This is supposed to be the flagship event on the annual calendar not a sideshow where anybody can come and participate.

SA's can be entered by any Dick Tom or Harry who has a valid racing license and there certainly is many who should not even have a cyclosport license in their pockets judging from some races in gauteng amongst the vets. AM seeding of 1.4 and Piet M 18.9 racing in same cat, does it make sense?

It is a simple system use in the USA where you seeding index determines where you ride not your age category Hence guys such as AM MW DG can ride with the best and not be discriminated against.

Well with the mess we currently find ourselves in I think it is about time CSA rather introduce ability seeding to the SA cyclists. Make batches of 100 riders the rest moves to the back batch as it fills up. This way you have no place to hide as your true seeding will show you up. CSA please think along these lines

AM will always remain a threat to any age group he rides in even at fun rides, shows you how many cyclists actually go to race for second place when they hear AM has entered their category. What a hollow victory for the category, how do you accept the champonship knowing you DQ'd your main rival? Officials need to have the book thrown at them for THEIR debarcle.
