  1. I was also gonna say. If they move back to SAAT it would propably be the same as this is what SAAT would have to do after the restructuring as well.
  2. And with all this going on, Boeings woes with the 737 max is not getting better. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/09/faa-tells-boeing-that-737-max-wiring-bundles-are-not-compliant.html
  3. Not sure what the current figures are but last week Lufthansa grounded 150 aircraft as demand is down and routes are cancelled. There is a possibility that the whole A380 fleet might be grounded temporarily.
  4. I was also feeling guilty for laughing my @ss off.
  5. He would have approved of the Merlot
  6. That is bloody funny
  7. My inlaws had a GSD who liked using the doorbell on a Sunday morning if we happen to sleep in too long. As time went on we ignored the doorbell on a Sunday morning just to find it ripped out chewed to pieces.
  8. Trailers are getting better and better ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpZgwHU1GcI
  9. Are you nuts!!! They will load the plane full, fly them down and pawn them at Muizenburg to help scrape in some much needed funds. I would not trust SAA with my bike at the moment
  10. Awesome video. Although I think that both the 787 and the A350 are remarkable aircraft they in my opinion are not the pretiest of aircraft. Just like the A380 is just an absolutely incredible aircraft I think they ran out of creativity when the put the nose together of the aircraft. That is why the 747 still remains my favourate. I like to caption this image ... "Beauty and the beast"
  11. The intelligence and hunting skills of Orcas is just unbeleivable
  12. I would assume that SAA is your biggest customer and if the sink (or should I say crash), you will not have so many aircraft to work on for a while and it will impact you then.
  13. Seems we will have to wait a month then
  14. ?
  15. Can't remember what the outcome was on that. I actually think they got off from that charge.
  16. Wrong thread
  17. As far as I can remember the driver was found guilty and locked up. Mozambican guy if I remember correctly.
  18. So for some time I was wondering with exactly which aircraft we flew when we moved to Germany. Eventually I could just not take it anymore and decided to mail Frankfurt Airport to ask them if they can tell me where to get the registration number of the aircraft we flew with. I could give them the date and flight number. Was not even an hour and they responded. D-AIMM.
  19. Comair invested quite a bit in Lanseria and would not surprise me if they have shares there as well. I know quite a few years ago they spent quite a bit of money there and signed a deal with Lanseria which basically closed the doors for SAA/Mango to operate from there for a period (say 5 years or something). When that deal came to an end Comair was going to try and renew the deal when SAA took Comair to court for anti competitive business. Not sure what the outcome was then but I am sure that Comair still have favourable rates compared to Mango there.
  20. The only logical reason I see for this is that because SAA is cutting quite a few of its domestic flights, Mango will have to take that over, and you have only so many aircraft available. So I assume they are going to use the aircraft to take over quite a few of the canned SAA flights. Comair might be smiling though.
  21. Well it is not as if they are built from a mold. There will be some extra weight which you would like to cut to reduce operating costs.
  22. I found out that the Gemini 1:400 will be available in a months time Oh my wife is gonna be so impressed ...
  23. What would be a safe distance away from those engines before risking being sucked in?
  24. Jip with you on that. The 747-8 in my opinion is the cherry on the top. I am desperately trying to get a diecast model of the Lufthansa 747-8 for my desk.
  25. Great balls of fire?
