In the newspaper this morning. The fleet of 14 A380 aircraft at Lufthansa will most propably not fly again for Lufthansa. They do not see a recovery in the market for the next 3-4 years that would warrant the use of the big aircraft.

As Swissvan reported that the weather was not optimal actually on Saturday in the Alps. We have had some lovely spring weather during the week last week and although the temps were to drop over the weekend but still with some sunshine predicted for Saturday afternoon with a max of 7 degrees I decided to do my first long ride for the year. Turns out the sun was just teasing us along the way with some guest appearances by only lighting up some of the tips of the mountains from time to time and the majority of the ride was in max 4 degrees with an hour period only being at 1 degree. I was slightly under dressed wrt to feet and hands. This picture was taken by my riding buddy just before the end of hour ride. I had spoke that was getting a tad loose and while I stopped to check it out he took this pic. All and all a nice ride but fairly cold. Had to laugh at my wife as she said to me when I got home "Take a quick shower as dinner is almost ready". No chance of just sticking these cold feet in hot water. Took about 15 minutes to warm them up bit by bit.

So we seems to have an early spring. Done a few bike rides since the weekend. Went out for a early morning ride this morning. There was still a chill in the air and the temp went down to -5 at some point. But still it was good to be on the road again. The Alps at sunrise (and sunset) is always worth watching.

The question is however if they only offer fish dishes.

What you don't see in the picture is a the big pair of steel balls that he has. Obviously he has no fear of hights.

I actually think in the US they have some sort of recording device that records some basic details, like speed that they can use in accident investigations. I remember seeing a program of some guy who actually fell asleep behind the steering wheel and the foot pushed down on the gas pedal. The car drifted of the road at one heck of a speed and hit a storm water drain causing the car to ramp and get airborne, hitting a bridge pilar (upper half of the pilar) and the car disintegrated completely and the driver was flung out and survived with only minor injuries if I recall correctly.

Don't think so. To my knowledge only commercial airliners. Small aircraft, helicopters and military aircraft do normally not have it. The owner of an aircraft might want to have it installed. If a small aircraft is used commercially the owner might opt for an additional Flight data recorder (or some version of it, not a black box as such) that they not only use in case of emergencies but more used to evaluate pilot performance. I know at some stage British Airways (in Brittain, not Commair in SA) had additional monitoring software on their aircraft where they evaluate pilot performance and also see where pilots need to do some extra training in the simulator.
