  1. i have done 150 miles in mine in a year, so i am kind of hoping they will be fine for the rest of the year. Might get a new pair for my October marathon though. I am pretty light on my soles though.
  2. i would say some Italian bias! I reckon they are all much of a muchness nowadays. Some are more aggressive than others. I use Saucony pro's because they are not as aggressive but still give you the carbon benefit-. Cost wise, you going to get at least 2 years out of a pair of carbons (depending on how many races you do) so i would rather buy in line with my daily runner brand
  3. i am just going to do a nice easy half marathon, so dont mind if there are a few hills. I think only the marathon has a bus ride. Looks like the half is an out and back
  4. I had a Discovery+ subscription last year and watched using that, but now that is gone and it requires a TNT sports subscription which is €30. The general sentiment is that no one will be subscribing to watch that. Killing the sport
  5. Karen I cant remember her hub name
  6. Good Memories of Tumbles. We all met one year together for the World Cup at Pmb. Almost 8 Years already.
  7. RIP David lynch
  8. ha ha. I have the chance, I am taking it! In the meantime I will keep doing the lottery for Berlin
  9. I can do Good for age Entry for next year. I will use my sisters address.
  10. I am busy watching Dark Matter, which is very good so far Just finished Rivals, which was entertaining enough.
  11. Hope they do that next year, I am entering London for 2026
  12. Sounds Fab! we are staying in Jacobs Bay, so its just a hop and a skip away
  13. anyone ever done the langebaan marathon/half marathon? whats it like?. I am going to be on holiday nearby when its on so I thought I might go and do an easy half while i was there
  14. Mileage absolutely makes a difference in what you can achieve, but yes..it has to be balanced with productive an easy runs. I moved away from only doing speed in my speed sessions to also doing lactate threshold segments on my speed days as well as intervals as part of some of my long runs. 3200km in 2024. biggest year by a long shot
  15. i had calf issues in 2023. Don't know how old you are, but I realised with age comes the need to do strength work. So i added 5 minutes of glute work with resistance bands before each run ass well as a gym session to do core and leg strength work. I also replaced my monday run with 45 - 60 minutes on the elliptical trainer. Still gives you the cardio workout but gives the pressure on the muscles and joints a day off
  16. thanks. it certainly helped build a base for Amsterdam and the elusive sub 3..so all good in the end 😊
  17. that is the only good thing about my boston experience! My worst marathon by a long shot. Too hot, went out with on overly ambitious time, and did not nearly do enough hill training...but, the crowds were amazing
  18. Still running. had my best ever year last year with PB's in 5km, 10mile, half marathon and marathon so it is going to be difficult to top that year! but...New age category next year, so the objective for the first half of the year is to try place in a few shorter races
  19. Happy New Year. Been a while. I stumbled across the thread while doing a google search for something and thought i would say hello
  20. Mathias was looking very shady in the post race interview.. But at the end of the day.. Like he said.. It's racing
  21. Yeah.. He's had some terrible luck in both racing end qualifying. Let's hope he's on the right trajectory
  22. Just not got results
  23. Great afternoons racing today. A positive 3rd place for Greg. Bummed that Finn didn't get his first win but Armoury was on another level. As for the ladies, Miriam was also on another level even if cami me no mistakes she still wouldn't have been a match for Myriam today
  24. Yeah.. not saying he didn't have a brilliant race. When he realised they were on him he pulled into his reserves and used some of that South African grit to hold them off, but you could see that he was spent going up that big climb
  25. Hatherly just held on. He was blown in that last lap
