  3. Well done Fandacious. That took you a few months!!! I must apologise for the lack of stock. We have been restructuring the business and setting up finances etc took some time. Stock should be here tommorrow and then wait for customs to clear. Good choice My apologies again. New Cranks and BB are in this parcel to
  4. Seeing drugs are the rage. the question is should they be legal?. Should we say go for it and everyone using them be open and then race. Should we have drug races or drug free races?
  5. You are right and i agree with you. But the reality is do it right. Are Drugs good or not should they be legal or not The problem become that the guy that doesn't want to use them now has to consider them or get out. Do the athlelets discuss the use of drugs with their wives and family? But they would discuss using buying a diesel or petrol or a van or a car etc etc
  6. Yip its raoul de jonhg from Cervelo cape town
  7. Hey its time to get real all makes it harder and harder for those next in line. Sponsors get touggher, work becomes less availiable and the sport is not trusted. I can tell you now we and many other companies are loking twic eta sponsorships, when we now sponsor athletes have to prove their true worth, have to sign documents and contracts that are worse than getting married. They way it looks its going is; sponsored athletes buy this from us and for each good (wanted to say positive) appearance we refund you. If its a bad one drugs then you pay us back immediately and a percentage for tainting the products.
  8. My reply. It is larger than just drugs. it is loyalty to your sponsors and helpers. You jeapordize everyones position and livliehood. True words my <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Man.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> These guys don?t seem to grasp the repercussions. What about their future for one bust no job no ride. Think about their families as they certainly don?t. Can anyone respect these people. We have them here if you are truly sorry stand up admit it and be counted then you will earn the respect. Hide, you hide shame. It bigger than that just the doping. There are supported and trusted by sponsors to put their job at the front to promote product so it sells so that they can earn from doing what they love. This can destroy everything a company does it hurts them to and the long term is reduced sales!! Less turnover less jobs. I had leading SA Time Trial champion desperate for a TT Bike. I arrange one have it painted paid the money and then got THE CALL!! ?B&H are giving me a full carbon TT bike so I don?t need yours. I need to look after myself?. I sponsor Q rings Powerlung, assist with training, with emotional support, arrange free testing etc etc and for a bike that?s what I get. Its the same as doping no loyalty to those that help!! Time to get real.
  9. Thisis a mail i got from Raoul Hello all. is it just me or are we all just a little fed up with having the greatest show on earth, our Tour de France, thwarted with scandal, lies and athletes who just don't get it. I say our Tour because the tour belongs to the people and the athletes. without people and spectators, the Tour is just another race. but it is watched and scrutinized over my millions of people live, as it unfolds, everyday, every year. its one of the few events of the year that people who don't know anything about cycling watch. its right up there with Wimbledon on this list. all the athletes signed a code do conduct before the start of the Tour. but really, did we think this was good enough? people lie all the time, in business, in love, in friendship. so why not lie about something which you might be able to avoid anyway. today we sit with Vino - blood doping. Rasmussen - lies about his whereabouts have cost him a yellow in Paris. Moreni - Testosterone. the list goes on. Don't athletes know about responsibility. but the definition of responsibility goes beyond that. its based on a set of ethics, and those who don't have it base their lives on rules. and I guess alot of pro cyclists are just trying to bend the rules, instead of living their lives on the basis of ethics. I know alot of you are feeling down about our sport, such a beautiful sport. I was explaining to my girlfriend yesterday (im guiding her through her first watching of my favorite reality show on TV I.e. le Tour) how pure cycling is. man on man, no hiding, no excuses. there is no TRY in cycling, there is DO and DON'T. full stop. and today I almost feel sad because I was saying Rasmussen deserved the Tour, he deserved yellow in Paris. but this is a man who lied to the UCI, his team manager and his team mates. this is not the kind of guy I want wearing the yellow jersey in Paris. but I still believe our sport is pure. the cream on the trifle is off, but there are so many layers to cycling. next time you are out riding with mates, go sit at the back of the group and just watch your mates. they are breathing hard, pushing themselves up the hills, telling each other stories, enjoying being out in the freezing cold at times because its still a pure thing cycling. there is something about coming around the last corner on Chappies into Noordhoek, when you catch that beach on a sunny day, the sea is blue... it always takes my breath away. never does it in a car, but when im coming down there at 60km/h on my bicycle, its priceless. until those moments disappear the dream and ideas we all have about riding will continue. we will still push each other up the climbs, still share jokes and conjure up strategies for taking over the world, well, maybe our own worlds, and continue to push the dream that riding your bike is the best thing out there, no matter how many of our heroes crumble, how many guys test positive, or how many lies there are. there are around 220 guys who ride the Tour. there are alot more of us and we wont let them spoil our fun. lets live the ethics of cycling, put the rules away, and go enjoy what is still the most pure thing most of us have in our lives. thanks for listening. Raoul de Jongh
  10. Contact me we are the agents and have nothing but good results from all that buy. It takes a while to get used to.
  11. No its serious. She says she says a fortune to cyclists. I dunno who they are but will we ever?
  12. A friend of mine sells a bag that cyclists buy and she says they sell a lot of them . It seems it is catheter type system with a urine bag that is strapped to your leg with velcro system. Anyone want the number? Med Medical: Melany 0116405262 I wonder if they use it on the tour?or maybe thats empting them out!!!!!!!
  13. Robbie Hunter? No way Mcwen yes Hunter hopefully no.
  14. Th e best I found is www.letour.fr there is also www.tdfblog.com any others
  15. Try www.letour.fr for live coverage if you don't have TV. results time setc. But why you still at work you allowed three additional weeks leave each year to watch the tour. Hey bring me another beer
  16. That must be the best yet. with the bunch closing soler did very very well. Well done Barloworld!! Now Robbbie must chase green. He is lying well inoverall compared with the other sprinters.
  17. Let me throw a spanner in the works. Our new SABB Self aligning Bottom bracket does fantastic things. It allows the bearing to stay paralell to the axle. mmm think about it each time you put pressure on one crank the axle bends and the top and bottom of the bearings on each side stay in contact. With the SABB it stays aligned http://www.rotorbike.com/2006/sabb.htm
  18. The friction in bearings depends on; seals, shields, cage, lubrication, clearance and type of balls (steel vs. ceramic). <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> To demonstrate this I upgraded a Shimano Dura Ace hub so standard ball bearings could be fitted into the hub. A 12g steel ball was attached to the carbon rim and the wheel placed in a front fork. By releasing the wheel from the same point each time and by counting the motions until it stops, difference in bearing friction could be detected RS1 Means Rubber Seal (contact) Z Means Shield (non contact) RZ Means Rubberised Shield (light contact) 6000 2RS1 steel bearing, grease 3 6000 RS1 steel bearings, grease 6 6000 RS1 steel bearings, oil 9 6000 Z steel bearings, grease 21 6000 Z steel bearings, oil 52 6000 RZ hybrid bearings, oil 118 Used in 2001 Tour de France 3-4000 km without lubrication. 6000 RZ hybrid bearings, oil 325 Number of motions until the wheel stops. (The higher the number, the lower the friction) This is the number of revolutions so yesthey do make diffrence

  20. IS this still ceramic bearings? We are importers of Ceramicspeed bearings. They are superior by far!! Go to www.ceramicspeed.com for all the info you need, tests against the 'chinese' ones, wear, rolling resistance etc etc. Of course they come witha price but not far off the FSA etc. A Rotor SABB with ceramic bearing is R2400.00

  23. I was just talking to Jhb Dept of Sport bout this. It can lead to cycle paths , more money for teh sport etc etc. It will make cyclists obey the rules of the road andmaybe those linksfield rd robot jumpers will stop. 35 000 argus riders x R20 all cyclists making use of road millns how many cyclign lanes and insurance etc. I did it when i was kid had to buy a metal plate that had number and attached to the seat post tube or wheel nut Ithink its must, any shop that sells a bike sells a licences, or form teh dept of trnspor tor your club. But no unlicensed bike should be allowed on the road no matter who what or where. Think about teh bigger picture!!!
  24. you know this is the state of affairs in SA Sport. Choose a race at the time of SA champs, somepro's don't want and aren't allowed to ride overseas, some pro's aren't allowed to race track in case they get selected for SA Team. But at the same time the 'pro's' need to learn what it is to be a pro. We have been very dissappointed by some big names in SA cycling in terms of loyalty. So this could be a good thing in that some titles won't be defended!! All this just makes it diificult for the next pro in the row!
  25. Congrats Girls Go for it and bring back the success you deserve. Pity they couldn't choose a race that didn't clash with SA's
