  1. I'll just start crying uncontrollably.
  2. 30 days to Comrades.. ???? How is everyone doing. Im on 1200km now. Started getting a niggle here and there the last week, so Im backing off now. Taking a rest day after every run. Not much than can be gained now anyway.
  3. Go as light as possible. I stay in the Free State and even on the coldest mornings I only wear a long sleeve shirt and a very light jacket. And make sure the jacket is ventilated. You do need proper gloves though. Too many layers and you will sweat like a pig in 10 minutes.
  4. Im with you. This is not a 56km race. Her consistent pace should be enough. That said I've been following Ann, and her prep and dedication is very impressive.
  5. At OMTOM I realised how convenient it is to carry your own water. I ran with a Salomon soft flask, and when everyone bundled at the waterpoints I just kept going. They had dedicated carry your own refill stations with taps, stopped there twice and I was sorted. I can easily carry 4 32gi sachets in my running belt.
  6. Yeah same here. I already booked accommodation for this year. But changed my mind when I saw that. 40000 up from 15 000 last year? A logistical mess in the making.
  7. He needs to improve his Berlin pace by 2s/km to beat 2 hours. I cant see that happening. He will need some really special Nikes. Apparently he didn't run his world record in the 4%. That time last year he was already using prototypes for the Next%. Makes you wonder what Nike will come up for this attempt.
  8. I can't see it happening in an official marathon. So many factors will have to be absolutely perfect. Weather, pacers etc. Just the thought that they need a team of pacers running relay just to keep up with Kipchoge is insane.
  9. At max speed my treadmill will only give me a 2h30 marathon. Wont try that any time soon though.
  10. Definitely wont be at Berlin. They are looking at a route similar to Monza. Would like to see them go for the official record. That would mean no pacer relays and no running behind a car. One thing is certain, Ineos will go all out, the budget will be huge.
  11. Kipchoge will make another attempt at a sub 2 marathon this year. The Ineos159 challenge will take place in September/October. He really wants that sub2. Wonder what they will do differently compared to the breaking 2 attempt.
  12. Very interesting, someone calculated that David Gatebe ran a 4h43 50 mile during his record breaking Comrades win. Walmsleys run is definitely not the fastests ever. If only Comrades can put a timing mat at 50mi to make it official.
  13. 4th and last? Most of the other runners were pacesetters.
  14. And most of the SIDI merchandise are in the Takealot warehouses. So if it is ASG stock they gave up trying to sell it in their retail outlets.
  15. Their Facebook page is still active. And they still advertise SIDI.
  16. His performance dropped the moment he joined DD. So whatever the reason it must be team related. Either they changed his program/diet etc or the moral in the team is just that bad.
  17. Thats why garmin connect does automatic correction for gps based elevation.
  18. Yes, Im asking if there is a elevation difference in Strava as well as the Garmin app for the different devices. If the app elevations correspond then it might be a strava issue.
  19. Difference in both Strava and Garmin connect? Garmin connect does elevation correction automatically, so should be more accurate. Garmin gave me 20m elevation less than Strava on this mornings run.
  20. Definitely getting meds. Can't go a week without running. ????
  21. Woke up yesterday with a sinus infection. Dont really want to take of time so close to Comrades, but forced myself not to run. Any miracle cures?
  22. A sexist vegan cafe. Who came up with that great idea. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/eat/melbourne-cafe-handsome-her-closing-two-years-after-introducing-man-tax/news-story/cf19a4e85e46981815e498e2d3d43ed0
  23. Nike Zoom X Next%. The 4% Successor. We'll probably see it debut at London Marathon.
  24. Stabbing pain every time you plant your foot? Could be peronial tendinitis. I had it a while back. Very stubborn injury. Dry needling and physio helped.
