  1. It seems like all Comrades runners on Strava are injured???? Is this normal or is it the nerves? I took 2 really easy weeks after my knee niggle, its getting better every day and my legs feel strong and rested. Now to stay healthy for the next two weeks.
  2. You have so many weapons at your disposal. Snot bombs, well aimed water sachets, sharts...
  3. I hurt my knee coming down that camber on Omtom. Never thought much about it and Im still able to run pain free, but its always stiff and sore afterwards. Giving it another week and then I'll consider cortisone shots. Anyone with first hand experience?
  4. Those Comrades shirts are aweful. Who came up with such a bland design?
  5. "Parents who raise children as vegans should be prosecuted..." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/05/16/parents-raise-children-vegans-should-prosecuted-say-belgian
  6. I finally understand veganism.
  7. But he stopped and posed for pictures at the waterpoints.
  8. The best battle from all 8 seasons. That backdrop was just insane.
  9. But not almonds. Lets keep it vegan.
  10. I will contribute R20. If everyone else on this thread contributes we can close it and move on.
  11. Have you seen the shapes and sizes of some of the Comrades finishers... ????
  12. Ok... So how many have you done?
  13. To be honest, its obvious from the original ad that the helmet is beat up.
  14. Should have used vegan caffeine.
  15. Well they've got Sani Stagger on there.
  16. I'll just start crying uncontrollably.
  17. 30 days to Comrades.. ???? How is everyone doing. Im on 1200km now. Started getting a niggle here and there the last week, so Im backing off now. Taking a rest day after every run. Not much than can be gained now anyway.
  18. Go as light as possible. I stay in the Free State and even on the coldest mornings I only wear a long sleeve shirt and a very light jacket. And make sure the jacket is ventilated. You do need proper gloves though. Too many layers and you will sweat like a pig in 10 minutes.
  19. Im with you. This is not a 56km race. Her consistent pace should be enough. That said I've been following Ann, and her prep and dedication is very impressive.
  20. At OMTOM I realised how convenient it is to carry your own water. I ran with a Salomon soft flask, and when everyone bundled at the waterpoints I just kept going. They had dedicated carry your own refill stations with taps, stopped there twice and I was sorted. I can easily carry 4 32gi sachets in my running belt.
  21. Yeah same here. I already booked accommodation for this year. But changed my mind when I saw that. 40000 up from 15 000 last year? A logistical mess in the making.
  22. He needs to improve his Berlin pace by 2s/km to beat 2 hours. I cant see that happening. He will need some really special Nikes. Apparently he didn't run his world record in the 4%. That time last year he was already using prototypes for the Next%. Makes you wonder what Nike will come up for this attempt.
  23. I can't see it happening in an official marathon. So many factors will have to be absolutely perfect. Weather, pacers etc. Just the thought that they need a team of pacers running relay just to keep up with Kipchoge is insane.
