A car hit me when I was 15 years old and that was around 20 years ago and this during rush hour traffic at a traffic light and not one person got out of their car to come see if this kid was ok. Its a sad society we live in but Im sure there are still good people out there.

I take it you are not a business owner. Competition is the best thing possible to bring down pricing and increase service standard. Dont shoot people down before they have even started. Atleast they are giving it a go while you sit in your cocoon shooting your mouth off.

I have a luxury transfer company. I spend that sort of money weekly, so I know what you going through. My cars warranties expire after 1 year. Yip, 100 000km a year per car. We covered 960 000km this year in my fleet. It doesnt matter how nice you drive your car or how many times you take your car for service(Ours every 1 half months). They will always break or something will always need to be replaced. If its luxury, you need the moola in the bank and know whats coming your way on every service.

Well, I was one of those hackers and no fault of mine. Let me explain...So I get to the Sandton Convention Centre and look for my name on the list and HUH? I am not on it. Go to enquiries and they say the reason I am not on it is because I have not paid yet. What? I paid months ago. Now I have to phone my Fiancé to look for the page I printed out from my bank showing the payment and get her to scan it and send to my BB. OK, so I get and show the lady. She is now happy and gets my number, just the number, no goody bag, just the number (my kids love the goody bag). So I see the have just decided to put me in the 50km race(I have only ever done three 25km races)and I am in group A1.I tell the lady this is not right how can you put me in group A1 and the 50km race, please change. By this time I am wondering if I should do this race at all as it has started off a bit shaky. She tells me the system told her what number to give me...Eish!!!!And she cannot change it. So there I was in group A1 today with Burry and Robbie feeling way out of place. So to all the guys in this group, sorry if I got in your way but I stayed as far left as possible. If you saw a chubby guy in blue and grey riding a Bianchi that would be me. As far as the race went, they could have cleaned up a bit better. Lots of barbwire, broken glass. Saw many guys with punctures. First impressions, not very good. I know of many other routes I have done in my limited time in the saddle that are far better. However, Century being one of the sponsors I doubt the routes for the years to come would change much. Other than that, it will do but not up there with the top 10 rides I have on my to ride list.

Being new to the whole disk brake thing I need a few questions answered. I bought a Bianchi around 8months ago. Since then I have maybe done +- 1600km. I noticed on todays ride that the rear brakes are not braking aswell as they should be. They are making a heck of a noise almost like when they get wet. So my question is: Are the pads finished? What is the km you get off a set of pads? How do you adjust the pads? as the brake lever seems to almost touch the handle bar now

Now I know I am going to get uitgekak. So elite riders shave their legs right? Well do you guys shave your arms aswell? Its been proven shaving your legs does not make you ride faster. its apparently got to do with hygiene if you fall the hairs dont go into the wound and make it "septic". So my thinking is when you fall chances are very high your arm is goingto also be grazed when you hit the deck. Anybody got a answer of why you dont shave your arms?

"A woman in her forties was entering the Midmar Dam venue for the final stretch of the race to the finish when she was knocked off her bike," said ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson. "It is believed that a woman driving a Toyota Avanza cut in front of the cyclist on the R103 at the entrance to the dam, knocking the woman with extensive force." Her injuries were severe and she was declared dead at the scene. "The local police department arrived on the scene and detained the driver of the car for further questioning," Jackson said

What is the use of having a restaurant if customers cant eat there? Met my family after a ride in Groenies for breakfast this morning as we do from time to time. Got there at 08:45 just to be told they only open at 10:00. My wife being a diabetic needs to eat before 09:00 so she does not go "LOW". When and why would they change their times? This is not the first time I have been dissapointed by them. In August I had a international VIP client I booked to take him to Moyos for a traditional African meal. When we got there, the waitress says to me they are under staffed and when we order it will take upto an hour and a half before we get our food. Thats it, no more supporting this restaurant.Moyos you pissed me off... go get stuffed!!!!

Went for a ride at Groenies this morning. Was great even though I have not been on the saddle in 2 weeks(work work work). Tried out a new USN product and had energy through out the ride. Feel good after the ride.

its not only in todays world. I remember hitting the back of a vehicle on my bike when I was around 14 years old(20 years ago) on a busy road in Durbanville. Hit it so hard I broke the back stay off the bike. Nobody gave a **** that I was lying in the road only the guy who's car it was. Seems not much has changed. Good going Zaskar09.
