  1. This sucks. He must be gutted. Daryl will be able to get over most of the small and intermediate climbs with the bunch and would've been a great help for Gerro in the sprints. It's not like Gerro will compete on a summit finish, so there will always still be a sprint after a lumpy stage. I don't see their plan working. This sucks.
  2. Must be Cuddles! If he is doping, he needs to find a new doctor!
  3. with a girlfriend like Cound he needs one helluva PR company to manage his image. His popularity ratings drop every time she opens her mouth.
  4. Post of the day!
  5. Flattest race I've ever done! Fast and lots of fun. 2:29 on the 60km. Was a nice ride!
  6. As far as I know you can register at Sondela on the morning of the race.
  7. Problem is; cycling has been and still is growing rapidly so the marketplace is a mess… for the consumer anyway. LBS’ now only worry about customers that drop R100k on a bike, there’s so many “average customers” in the market that they don’t have to care about you or give you decent service, because there is enough volume in the market that the loss of one or a couple won’t make a difference. They’ll make the volume that they lose up in new consumers entering the market. I’m still hoping that in the long run their reputation will bite them, but in the short term they just won’t care, because they don’t have to.
  8. I have one of these. Good stuff!! http://www.xtremeindustries.co.za/collections/frontpage/products/alu-handlebar-mount-long-colours
  9. Thanks Wessel. Sounds like a nice tough one.
  10. I emailed them, received a reply about being able to enter on Thursday at Solomons. I've replied and asked about the seeding, but nothing. ASG, given all the singletrack in the race, is it possible to accommodate the late entries with a seeding, especially since the entries closed earlier than advertised?
  11. Any ideas of whether the route will be faster or slower? No more N14 but KOM @ 80km will be quite tough on the legs and it looks like a slower start along Summit.

  13. Ai, and those ZTR crests... That's gotta hurt.
  14. Looks like a nice family affair. Will chuck the family in the bakkie and be there. 240m of climbing over 60km? I've never ridden anything that flat!
  15. Wessel, how rideable are these mountains? I.e. just steep or steep and rocky? If I remember correctly Vodacom hill is quite gnarly towards the top.
  16. Sounds like another eina one! Like this past weekend's Van Gaalens. Looking forward!
  17. Looking forward! The good ol' Frosty game! My last two teams were dismal. Hopefully this year they pull up their socks!
  18. Essentially, yes. But Brailsford made it clear that he selects the squad and that the squad has not been finalised. Chances are slim at best though. He hasn't been on the same training camps that the probable Tour squad went to.
  19. What a great day of racing! Quick question; did Saxo and Sky not realise that Talansky made it into the break until it was too late or did they just not care thinking that they'll catch thrm later. I can't fathom how you would allow someone with only 39 seconds on you to get into a break, especially such a big break. Like mentioned, the SS coverage started too late so we missed the actaul move. Contador is looking like he's back to his old self. Pretty sure it was the fall that hurt Froome. The two of them were toe to toe on the first 3 days. Shaping up to be an exciting Tour.
  20. Is it just me, or does the link to the event page not work?
  21. Even though I decided before the race that I'll walk the descent, I didn't... when over the handlebar twice and then walked the descent. Tough day out. The first 40km is proper tough mtb marathon terrain. Climbs were hard but rideable. That descent though is not fun. Sense of humour failure on the last bit of Oom Piet, but that river singletrack put a smile back on my dial.
  22. Living the dream man! Just living the dream...
  23. 6 categorised climbs today, although nothing bigger than a Cat 2. Doubt it'll be a day of fireworks from the GC contenders. Perhaps a day for the break.
  24. Check your spam folder. Mine was there. I'm in D with an index of 40.
  25. Nice to see the bio passport system working. Thing is, they detected suspicious levels, he never tested positive, if I read correctly. Makes you wonder how many more there are that is getting away with it.
