  4. Welldone SteveCT if all mistakes where handled like you handled this the hub would be a perfect place! whats the moral of the story? never quote anything from the YOU mag seriously though BIGUP for rectifying the matter
  5. SEE now we back to total agreement
  6. sniff .... was that sarcasm? not too sure who needs tabloids if we have the hub
  7. disagree with you this time drongo! It was uncool to place something like this in the first place! just keep in mind that she has nothing to prove to anybody in the first place, she could easily join the rest of the socialites at virgin active for their personal trainer fueled half hour cardio session, what she is doing is commendable in my book! getting out there working hard... blood sweat and tears to reach a goal. Can you imagine how she must feel after putting in so much work for the iron man and then having a crash and missing out due to injury?? i know the feeling and it sucks!! we should feel sorry for her not be taking the piss!!
  8. yip that would be Christoff sauser!! see him and burry finished in the front pack
  9. im speaking under correction bu raynard Tissink completed the ironman cycle 2010 in 4:36 now that puts a sub 3 argus into context! ironman is not a 6 month excercise program its a lifestyle, i for one dont do the argus because of the chance of having a involantary lydown with three weeks to go to ironman so dont knock the girl! she may have been trying to stay out of trouble! in the article she says she was using the argus as training for the ironman anyway
  10. 32GI most dischems stock it
  11. in what disipline scotty? triathlons?
  12. there was a issue with a race referee that misunderstood the rules regarding the maximum wheel size allowed during a cross triathlon and said at one of the races that 29ers are ilegal, FYI the ITU refered to a maximum wheel diameter of 28.4" wich interestingly is the OD of most 29er wheels (excluding certain tyres)thats why the Ref thought that 29ers are ilegal, ITU has in the mean time ammended their compitition rules and it now reads ... maximum size 29" so thats the very short version of what happened, KennyG you are right regarding the 29ers and xterra..Conrad stoltz has been winning on a spez 29er for some time now but just so you know Xterra is not governed by ITU rules, they have their own governing competion rules based on the ITU rules
  13. hey guys remember the last race of the series the 27th March Abrahamsrust, Sasolburg If any of you were affected by the misunderstanding regarding the 29er legality at ITU events, it has been confirmed by the ITU and Triathlon SA that 29ers ARE legal for cross triathlons/duathlons so all bikes are welcome! 2010122108264383911.pdf
  14. have to agree Flex it was a great event! the swim was tuff on the way back the current played a big part i think!! but is was a brilliant race! lets hope there are bigger numbers at the next race! i think its going to be hard for the organisers to keep the race going without the numbers! and we REALLY need a decent triathlon series. other than the Energade series there arent many races to keep us race fit
  15. @ general Lee... i see you have the new asics Noosa tri 6 as your avitar, i just got mine last week! what an awesome pair of trainers!!
  16. nochain i agree that the difference might be bigger for the average swimmer but i think that good technique is going to improve your swim time alot more than a wetsuit, what im trying to say is it doesnt help to wear a wetsuit and you still doing a 600 in 16+ minutes, or let me put it this way if you are swimming a 600 in 15+minutes a wetsuit is not going to get you do do it in -13minutes but a good swim technique will! so instead of spending a couple of grand on a wetsuit rather go for a couple of lessons from a swim coach!
  17. a wetsuit equates to about 10sec per 100m so unless your a elite athlete it aint going to make much of a difference to your overall race time eg on a 70.3 race you going to save 3.10sec on the swim....not much for an average triathlete but that could be the difference between winning and loosing for the elites. i personally find that i swim faster in colder water than in warm water so im not bothered about a wetsuit! unless its an ultra event in really cold water where hypothermia could play a part
  18. im sure there will be alot more entries on the day! will see you guys there, by the way, the water quality hasnt been this good in a long time! i did the sasolcross there last weekend and the water was perfect
