captain you are spot on with what you saying but if your body is protecting its self so to speak i think his heart rate would stay low on the run aswell? i couldnt explain my experience and the only thing i thought it may be is that my HRM wasnt picking up my HR correctly.. but i totally agree with you that if you fighting a virus or something like that your body will go into "protection mode"

Fanie, i had the same experience some time ago but i experienced it on the bike and on the run so its even more strange that you can get your HR up on the run but not on the bike?? by the way i never did find out what the cause was i just wrote it off as my HRM playing up

cant believe noboady has mentioned the quality of the tv coverage? the shots from the road were so bad most of the time you couldnt even make out the riders numbers?? even the helicopter shots were out of focus

lol thats the best discription ive heard before! from my experience with Shin splints, the pain sets in quickly but doesnt get worse it levels out and stays at the same intensity, stress fractures get progressively worse (Havent experienced the stress fractures yet) but thats what i have heard, so i would suggest going to see a doctor if the pain gets worse! what you think TNT?

i agree that if there is a problem with a product that it should be replaced by the manufacturer, however what Tumbleweed said about the PoP is spot on because here are five people that have experienced a breakage out off how many Gobi's sold? lets say 100 for the sake of the argument, that means that 5% of the people using Gobi saddles have had a failure - does this warrant a recall? now how many of us have bought saddles from CRC do the SA Agents have to replace them too? What about the 120KG rider that has had his saddle for 2 years and recently had his Gobi break? do the Agents have to replace his saddle too because of 5% of Gobi saddles that have broken? what the Agent said was supply a valid PoP and they will look at the claim! i think that is perfectly acceptable?

eldron, im trying to think of where the marshy area is you talking about but i cant seem to picture it? but i think if there was no marking or marshalls at the entrance it was the wrong entrance, i know a section along the river had to be cut out because of the water level so im assuming it must be that? the two entrances off the tar road both had marshalls if i remember correctly?
