  1. never had issues with any well built stress relieved wheel. UST is nice but have run Stans without issues.
  2. I have a pal who has tried for years to get into Imana and sani2c. Eventually he just gave up hasn't bothered with those events. I think he'll live a happy life without those medals. I like the new system CTCTT has adopted for many reasons. Yes its equitable and many people don't see why but was talking to a female colleague in the office yesterday. She was telling us that she would love to ride the CTCT but often she doesn't have the cash. She's a single and earns OK but cash flow is a problem. She always seems to not have the necessary available. Maybe its bad planning but she reckons if she gets an entry via the lottery then she has a little under a month to budget and pay without the pressure of needing to use the internet at work which is often slow due to the volume of traffic created by Flacebrokers, twits and instantgrammers. So she's super stoked. I realized putting yourself in someone else's shoes often provides the answers we seek. It also struck home that there so many other people who would dearly love to give the CTCT a bash but can't for financial capacity or cash flow reasons. ......and I guess this opens the condemnation speeches of if you really want to ride you will find a way, what I have come to understand about bucketlisters is that they are also opportunists who believe that it will happen when its meant to happen. Maybe getting your ticket to ride via a lottery will result in more bucketlisters turning up on race/ride day
  3. Or you simply quoted the bit that you wanted
  4. I edited it 4 min after I posted it to add the last sentence. I think your perception has changed. So if this is the best you can manage for an apology I can accept with reservations.
  5. I didn't edit the content. In fact it's exactly as I posted it. Maybe what has changed is your perception of the problem
  6. Thanks deon, With knowledge comes understanding. Naturally the announced prospect of early access to Silvermine created excitement that is now disappointment. I fully appreciate the respect with which you have relayed your challenges. A diamond in the rough they say. I'll direct my queries to you in future as the other fellow seems a bit nasty.
  7. Bike plus constantia. Be careful with buying pearl izumi online. The sizing comes up small
  8. You're just over sensitive as usual. Maybe that comes out negatively in your meetings with San parks. We all on the same side so understanding when something goes wrong is in everyone's interest. Thanks for your honesty deon. So what's the plan going forward? Any ideas for fast tracking?
  9. Ok I wasn't there so I'll take your word at face value. But the rudeness is really uncalled for. You clearly not interested in understanding what went wrong so we leave you to it. Ime it's national sport to blame gov departments. Sometimes it's true a lot of the time it's not. Just saying
  10. Why so defensive? Tokai MTB interacts with SANParks. Why would they not give you the right information? I deal with gov depts all the time. if you don't ask very clear very specific questions you get nowhere. Sometimes it feels like a game of 20questions...but thats the way it needs to be if you want meaning to the interaction. You also have to be prepared for the ambiguity and ask clarifying questions. From what you posted it appears the TMTB reps took some information at face value.
  11. Hold on, you're blaming SANParks for TokaiMTB not asking the right questions? My boss always says want the right information ask the right questions chalk this one up to experience
  12. Not that shocking or amazing. Been lurking here for some time and this forum is not short of the self righteous. It probably hasn't been raised before because the women tend to not want to rock the boat. The issue needed to be raised by someone with the palmares to carry the message across international media. if one of our local ladies raised the point can you imagine the Irish firing squad that would have awaited her on thehub!!!?
  13. If news reporters can be mugged on live TV then this incident is well within the ambit of what could be considered to be expected behavior from our criminal element.
  14. Oh damn another weekend of couch cycling
  15. rider demand and its easier to build fewer bike designs, especially when 29ers need short chain stays to keep them nimble with long front centres. Short chain stays mean theres not much space to pack two chain rings while maintaining a reasonable Q-factor
  16. Much nicer colour scheme's from giant from 2016
  17. communal hotels spectators throwing pee its surprising that more riders aren't taking ill this year. Well Done Louis. You make us proud. Get well soon and see you at the Vuelta?
  18. No they didn't.... Ps what's the weight of the components ?
  19. Nailed it there. And thats whu I like this bike, always have. It gives people an option to goout and have fun on a very versatile bike without being pegged into A category
