    You are 100% correct. My insurer just asked me for revaluations on wife's jewellery and my bikes. I asked why those specifically and the response was those items are generally overvalued from purchase and insured value, then get lost easily and naturally the most claimed against. But the overvalued statement had me intrigued

    It's a ratchet drive system like dtswiss 240s hubs. The hope evo 2 hub is only about R2000 cheaper and you won't change the price of the rims so there's not going anything more than 10% saving.

    No but the principle is familiar to me. (karts, XC bike, Trail bikes I've owned). Everything has a performance window and it's seldom going to be perfert straight off the shop floor When ever I see a bike has been developed by a team rider, then immediately I think ok that guys weighs 20Kg less than I do, os going to be travelling xxkm/hr faster tham through a bend/berm etc and I start thinking about what that means for how I need the bike to be set up. Personally I don't see how I could ever get the maximum out of a Reign and would lean more toward the Trance. So I can understand how fitting a different offset (in this case a std offset) would benefit Joe Soap instead of the custom offset fork which was developed to go as fast as possible. I'm never going to get the bike anywhere near to its performance potential

    Ever driven a rally car slowly? It won't handle and the gear change is crap. get it going faster and suddenly you realise why you were born

    at 2260gr for the frame its only 340gr heavier than a Anthem Advanced frame without rear shock... That can't be right or the Anthem is built like a tank

    Brain front and rear will cost you Over R3l and you don't get your own internals back. It's only yours till the first service then you get someone else's and pay a premium. R1800 is about the going rate. A lefty service is about R1600 on its own and that's without needing any sliders or needle bearings

    Overpriced by about R25k. No just no For that kind of cash I can get something with real pedigree and snob value. For R52k anthem advanced includes carbon hoops same suspension and full XT 8000 and it's R38k less. And the oke that suggests a giant is not in the same class as a trek is sniffing his own year old unwashed socks and undies. There's taking the piss and then there's American bike pricing

    Both Ht and ST are fun to ride. Some people like the fuss free nature of a hardtail. many people who can't see the point of the HT are the same people those who learned to ride MTB on a HT keep yelling "Trek, TRek" when catching them on the singletrack,.....

    If a 1.65m shortie needs a medium then a 1.71m needs a L ........LOL At 171cm I'd recommend 650b or stick with a 26er. But some say you should select the frame that allows you to run a wide bar and short stem. This would imply a medium frame. However you really need to be able to try a demo before you decide whether a small or medium will work best for YOU

    PS: Johan says keep the weaker riders in front - thats so you can see them. IF they ride behind the faster guys pick up the pace and then start putting those guys into the hurt locker pronto. The result is a totally destroyed team. Keep the weaker riders in sight and let them do a turn on the front for 30seconds. The stronger riders can do one minutes turns on the front.
