  1. When I ran rotor q rings on a triple many years ago I found the traction was improved in only the middle ring. If I set it up for performance in the large ring the bike bobbed terribly in the middle and granny . With a single up front I'll buy into your improved traction . To over come this problem I refitted the round outer and granny and only kept the q ring middle ring.
  2. Also top speeds are a lot higher in road racing so the range with small incremental steps is necessary similar to cars. Faster you go the harder it is to go faster so the gear spacing needs to reduce to keep the engine in the power band Btw in TT man riders use a single chainring when the course gradient is not dramatic
  3. 27 gears is not really 27 gears it's more like 14 or 15. Multiple chain rings is the biggest gimmick the industry has sold us for decades
  4. Can't take it with you to the afterlife
  5. Because everyone was focused on building better front derailleurs
  6. So true cape will improve my ppa mtb seeding and boschendal will improve my SA seeding. The latter counts toward w2w seeding right?
  7. Would need a blipbox if just using the blips for shifts or it would need shifter integrated to the brake mastercylinder. Remember an AIREA transmitter is needed for the wireless transmitting of signals But wait a few weeks....
  8. A 140mm fork on an ,Anthem will void the warranty. Frame is designed and stresse for a 120mm fork max.
  9. The spacing between gear ratios is not a problem. You hardly notice it when you pedaling because your body doesn't care if the gaps are 15% or 16%or 18%.
  10. My XO1 XG-1195 cassette has about 1500km on it now and its still looks new. The chain is less than 0.2% worn. Still on the first chain. I'm hoping to wear out the cassette by August but if I don't and I doubt I will I'll just move the 11speed stuff to a trail bike project or my wife's 26er. I'm running a 34T chainring on 650b wheels so now I can a 36T and have a taller top end and a lower low end for very little extra weight. Win-win
  11. Al SRAM riders will be soaring in Cairns. Makes me wanna get out and ride.
  12. Shimano have a patent on a 14s cassette. Stick around for that.
  13. Less wear with Eagle because you have more chain wrap over chainring and sprocket thn with a 2x system. consider wrap on 34 - 50 (0.68) and 26 - 40 (0.65ratio) # teeth wrapped is 43.6teeth vs 30.4 . if you assume 2/5 of chainring is wrapped and 3/5 of sprocket. So the 1x12 granny has greater laod distribution across the teeth than the 2x10 granny. The width of a chain is not related to its ability to resist wear but rather how well its links are able to absorb the offset.
  14. In this clearly blatant cheating case I agree 110%
  15. for either co or XCm or trail or Enduro the 10-50 has advantages over 10-42. THe chainring up front allowing a much effective change in gearing range than was peviously possible. You either compromised on top end or low end. Now its much easy to get your arse covered. I don't think its such a benefit in a sprint but I find that I prefer using a bigger chainring to climb. Same effect on the road, I prefer a 38T chainring with 27 at the back than a 34T front with 23 rear. I just feel more comfortable. Haven't explained it yet.
  16. Missing the point. When your opponents sees that 50T sprocket he leaves the race and goes home
  17. keep crank arms you could probably run the 11s X-Sync rings but probably noisey
  18. What a frikken tjop!!! 2 offenses within 6 weeks of each other. Was he fathered by #1?
  19. <crackle> Houston, Tranquility base here,............confirm............the Eagle has landed.........<Crackle> <more Crackle> Tranquiity,...........Houston affirmative, ...........The Eagle has landed........<raptorous applause>
  20. Its only slightly more expensive than the current XX1 and XO1 groups. Remember t switch over from 11 to 12 you just need shifter derailleur chain cassette chainring You can keep your existing chainset if its a 1x with direct mount compatible
  21. No it right. USD price is excl GST and EURO price includes 20% VAT
  22. The rule is just a show of good faith from event organiser to the landowners. In reality it can't be policed and you cannot with certainty pinpoint who's file was used to trespass. There is plenty of other data available for any would be mtb trespasser to strich a route together e.g. That old invention called a topographical map, youknow that thing before Garmin. Besides anyone who publishes their leisure activities for the world to see deserves to get banned
  23. R300 limit to "gifts" for us, Above that it must be declared. But a gifted Cape Epic entry i s ok because its got no influence over any decision I make unless its a supplier gifting the entry then it must be declared. But ABSA gifting me an entry is fine....just saying......hint hint
