  1. Best Plan - Totally agree with MCipollini, just have fun! Train for a 4 hour ride, put in the 12 hour a week efforts and let this be your PLAN for the day: be in the best shape of your life, ride the most comfortable bike you own and just have fun!! Relax as you will have thousands of cyclists in front of you, behind you and around you. Use your first Argus as a reccy for greater rides to come. After your first, you always want to come back and beat your best time so this is your opportunity to take in all the vibe, sights and sounds that make this the greatest fun ride in the world! Added benefit, if you that fit, you will look like an absolute Champion going up Suikerbossie. The thousands of fans will marvel at your amazing achievements after 85km's and more than that, you will feel like a million bucks passing thousands at that point. If you have family/friends at the race, ask them to meet you at Kalkbay/Houtbay or Campsbay and stop for a coffee/cocktail/beer, will be the most amazing ride ever!, and you will get a medal(make sure to finish in 7 hours) and be one closer to completing 10/21... and a green number.... After all that, you know what to expect, what to train for and have ample time to do a good seeding race for an awesome seeding in 2014.
  2. Sport facilities needs to be developed at ground level to catch the potential at a young age. Secondly we need to get politics out of sport, and development take place from school level to pro status. Team selection is always going to be a issue even if you have done your bit and proven to be the best for the job - Cherise sadly this time.
  3. Could not agree more! Cherise should have been there, guaranteed not to have sat at the back of the bunch all day! Well done Cycling SA! All that said - great ride by Vos!!!
  4. This info is useless without shop location Advert 101 - Time, Date, LOCATION,...

    CWC Service

Visited the shop last Saturday for 10 mins just looking around. Was offered assistance twice so no complaints. Respect to CW for posting his personal details here and always being available, you will never please everybody but your doing a very good job trying. Thanks for the good deals!
  12. All the best and a full fast recovery!
  13. Clever CM
  14. Just to be close to the action would be payment enough. Agreed, speak to local clubs, cycle shops and some special deal for guys and gals from out of town on accommodation.... If you can manage to arrange for them to mingle with the pro's, you should have more applications than you can handle. Goody bag would be great but a 'Official' t-shirt, jacket... should be a given for such an event. They all need to look the same... Ask the pro's and/or their teams/sponsors to put something in and each marshal gets something. cap, t-shirt, saddle, bike(ok maybe i'm dreaming on this one but hey...) Get Greg or a couple of the riders to present gifts and thank the marshalls. You soon would have true fanatics knocking hard to be a part of this My 5 cents....
  15. Crazy! Good Luck to all 'idiots' who buy this
  16. This is why its called a "Cycle Challenge" and not Cycle Race. The rest of us are just there to make up the numbers and pay for it all!!
  17. +1
  18. Brilliant, love it!
  19. Was also wondering about gear ratio at that speed. Maybe Exclusive can shed some light on this as he has done it before?

  23. I haven't had any problems with my Buzz Rack at all and it is good to know if i do it will be sorted asap. Good product at a good price with good customer service and back-up = Very happy customer! I echo you River Rat, Well Done RFA!
  24. I have travelled plenty in Africa, Europe, far East and America. Save yourself the trouble, time and effort not to mention the money as you will get no joy in trying to have the thiefs caught/system changed, it will not happen!! Take the money and rather buy yourself the best hard shell suitecase you can find. I did it and have had zero loss in the last 8 years and yes i have been through ORT plenty on almost all airlines. They have tried to get in but failed every time, can show you the marks around the locks. And forget about padlocks, only get the digit combination claw lock tipe. Once they managed to break one lock but still couldn't get in as there was two on this suitecase, claimed from airline who in turn fixed it and gave me an extra if it would happen again. Have not needed it in 3 years. Added bonus is that you can use the suitecase as an extra safe in your hotel room. Often the rooms don't have safes or they are too small for your laptop, gifts... so just lock it in the suitecase and the nice cleaning lady won't be tempted.
