  1. This was the response: Yes, I am really interested in buying this as a surprise for my cousin, only if you can assure me that everything is in order. I am a petroleum engineer currently on a rig offshore, I want this to be a surprise for my cousin, so I won't let him know anything about this until it gets delivered to him. It will be a secure payment via Skrill as I'm on a rig offshore. So, let me know if you have an account with Skrill so I can arrange for the payment asap. Please note, a pickup agent will be coming for the pickup once I have made the payment. SCAMMER
  2. Received this text from a Nigerian cell nr “ I am interested in the bike. Please get back to me via email at smitc12@yahoo.com looking forward to your response” Red flags: I’m not selling a bike, sending a Whatsapp and asking for email response, erm...foreign number... Bikehub user Colinv, also new
  3. I was actually very surprised to receive this response to a gumtree ad yesterday. Thought this scam died 20 years ago but obviously must be working! 4. I’ve just realized the brakes I recently bought also came in a plastic bag. Not in a box as evident from those annoying Youtube “unboxing” videos. So also off an OEM bike? I don’t really mind. They work perfectly fine. Price was very good. But some disclosure in this regard might be appropriate for people for whom this might be an issue. Otherwise I really cant fault CWCs service.

  6. I often use AGS, but having seen these alerts I'm staying away for now: Important Update: COVID-19 DelaysDear Customer, Please note that we are still experiencing delays in response time from the customs officials in the South African Customs Facilities at the OR Tambo International Airport. We apologize for the delay, however, we are still able to clear your shipments formally upon your request to the AGS Customer Service Team as stipulated in our update on the 8th July 2020. Thank you for your support and understanding during these challenging times. The AGS Team.
  7. I'm considering this - if anyone spots any BLACK FRIDAY deals on I9's, please give me a shout!
  8. This a Hope Pro 4? I would like to increase the engagement on mine. Didn’t know it was possible?
  9. VPS should also do fine. I assume you had to strip down the bike down to the frame yourself?
  10. Great product. Well worth the money
  11. Even though I never aero tuck, there is no way I want a frame with this weakness. This is a clear design flaw from Canyon
  12. Luckily he was ok after that fall. But that river is so SIF he's going to have an upset stomach for a while!
  13. You are lucky - that old guy on the ebike fell in the river at the bridge just after that big drop off!!
  14. Ah. Interesting. Learnt something new. Will it improve my 2x11?
  15. Please pardon my ignorance, but what is the point of this? And why does it kick butt?
  16. Thicker spokes. Soldered together where they cross. And small washers where the spoke goes through the hub
  17. I'm heavier than you and my Spez Allez is holding up fine. Had the back wheel strengthened by a wheel builder for R400 and have had no problems. It's an entry level Allez. They're cheap. Don't go the Mtb on skinny slicks route. It's not the same!
  18. I must say that I am quite surprised that JIMC actually responded to my 3 emails to them over the past 3 weeks. Responses were 1-2 days later though, which is fine I guess. Clearance of my parcel took 6 weeks though...k@k but at least I got my stuff.
  19. I bought one from Midas, forgot the brand, but it is specifically designed for cyclists with a velcro harness for quick access, which you can attach to your bike or even better, your camelbak. edit: found it... same as this: https://www.thegadgetshop.co.za/sabre-cyclist-pepper-spray-with-adjustable-bike-strap-black
  20. No point in debating this as ebikes are here to stay..... We should rather ask whether assholes on normal bikes are allowed on the mountain (or trail, road for that matter)?
  21. That was my opinion last year......now not so happy anymore. The one bar-end broke in half after a small fall and I lost the other one during a race???? Still like the idea though, perhaps alu is the answer?
  22. Happy with mine. Never fallen out. Maybe you guys aren't fitting it tight enough?
  23. It's all about supply/demand....if they can fill 30,000 entries for R1000 they will do it
  24. Flightsx2 R5000 Accomodation R4500 Car hire R1200 Bike transport R1000 Food etc R???? The R510 entry fee is the least of my worries!!
  25. Reviving this 5 year old thread. Need my SID serviced somewhere in JHB northern suburbs. Any recommendations?
