  1. Yeah the 2.5 has nice volume to it - currently riding one. I am going to ask a friend that lives in Hong Kong to bring a few DD versions over for me when he visits again. The Exo version hasn't failed me yet, but I see the value in DD on the rear... I don't understand why Rush Sport bring in DD versions of typical front tyres where you don't need it and only Exo versions of typical rear tyres. At least Spaz has Black Diamond compound for their tyres now, and if this Eliminator is as good as advertised it may be worthwhile running front Grid and rear Black Diamond.
  2. Also don't like the DHR for the rear. But just because it feels like there is glue on my back tyre when I pedal. I have yet to do a trail in SA that needs more than an Aggressor on the rear. On another note, got myself a 29x2.6 Spaz Eliminator in Grid to replace the nearly dead DHF on the hardtail. PhilipV and CJVan both say it's a briliant tyre, so I'm quite keen to see how it rides - need to tear the side knobs off the DHF first though!
  3. Haha as jy volgende jaar aan ons unoficial oficial kompetiese deelneem is jy ook genooi Ek vertel jou more op Helderberg daarvan.
  4. Our anual sunset/night ride around Eden/GSpot/Mont Marie followed by burgers and beers at Bossa.
  5. WTF. Should've executed that excuse for a human on the spot. How can you do that to an animal? (or human for that matter)
  6. I'm also a bit over loud hubs. And those Onyx hubs sure are good looking. What did it set you back landed in SA if you don't mind me asking?
  7. If you eat only bananas it is is even easier.
  8. I made that mistake with the load shedding in 2016. Lots of back and forth about whether I should buy one, finally pulled the trigger, and the day it arrived was the last day of load shedding for quite some time. It did come in handy a few times though.
  9. That's not Jared. Although Jared does do amazing work., certainly not the place to post this....
  10. Like so? Haha
  11. Geezlike, you guys are brave leaving your doggos in the house while you are out..... I would come home to thousands in damage after 10mins away. I keep the warzone to my backyard - while we are home the dogs have free roam of the house, although they are never further than 2 meters behind me at any point.
  12. Yup - when I lived in Pta we were on the same block as some of the embasies for a short while - no loadshedding at all!
  13. Look at the pic, that guy's thighs are not even parrallel to the ground yet and his knee joint is already at less than 90°. Edit: Now I'm derailing this thread. Back to veganism....
  14. I did maths core at school (matric 2009). I'm not as old as you may think I am. I was the 2nd year that did math core and not the old higher grade and standard grade, as a result I had to use old higher grade exam papers to prepare for my exams. I can tell you from first hand experience, the current math is easier. I did Math Core + Additional Maths, and that together came to about where higher grade was (but not quite). I then went on to University and did engineering where I saw the gap between school and uni was huge, lecturers were of the opinion that it became much bigger since the switch to the new core/lit syllabus happened. Maths Lit - well that can hardly be called maths, it's an absolute joke. Anyway... believe what you want.
  15. 90° = perpindicular - let's just get that out of the way. Parrallel does not = 90° degrees to something, it's when two lines run in the same direction as one another, like two train tracks. When you upper leg is parrallel to the ground your lower legs are not perpindicular to the ground - they are at an angle, making the angle between your upper legs and your lower legs less than 90°. As you move your bum down to the geound in a squat your knees pivot forward, and your lower legs do not stay at 90° to the ground as I assume you think from your previous post. But all of this is symantics, deep squats have their place as long as they are done right. Oh and just as an aside, go and look up the standards of math in his day vs your day. I think you'll find what they teach at school now can hardly be called maths.
  16. It's actually amazing how many places are popping up - In Cape Town alone there are around 15 full on vegan resgaurants, and then there are places like Balduccis - although they serve meat, they have a full vegan menu as well. A little bit less options as you go out of town towards Somerset West side, but there are at least vegan options on most menus. Then you have Woolies and Checkers who now have full vegan lines in their prepared food ranges at pretty reasonable prices - and with nice variety too. It's easier now than ever before to be vegan in SA - especially if you live in the Cape and have access to a decent size Woolies food.
  17. Personally I have had only bad experiences with both Shimano and Sram brakes. If I had to choose I'd take the XTRs, but with my money I'd rather buy some Formula Curas.
  18. Jumping in at the back end of this, so my post is likely going to be a bit off the current topic. Someone I knew a few years back cracked a carbon frame, insurer wanted to repair even after a 2 shops gave the opinion the frame was a write off - this made me pose the question to my insurer - do you ever repair? Or do you always replace cracked carbon? I was with MiWay at the time - they repair. I then called a few others who also repair if they can: - Santam - King Price - Momentum Eventually got to CycleSure who replace. I was extremely happy about that when my carbon frame eventually did crack, which they then paid out for at full retail. Anyway, long story short, I am very happy with them, 3 claims later (2 very minor, 1 cracked frame). The moral of the story being, as with all things, do your homework before buying something including insurance. On the topic of repair - after having read some of Carbon Ninja's posts, I'm convinced it is solid, and if I was not insured I'd likely go that route. But, insurance I want to put me in the same financial position as before, and repair does not do that. As soon as you mention a frame has been repaired it's value practically drops to zero.
  19. There wasn't actual coffee involved, it was just of that quality. If there had been coffee involved it would have been fair trade organic beans, and the coffe made by the vegan hipster, served with only the best (ethically sourced) almond milk of course.
  20. Best post I have read in a long time. Coffee all over the keyboard level quality hahaha
  21. You assume wrong. There is a whole big bikehub out there with dedicated threads about all sorts of topics, just like this is a Veganism thread. But anyway, let me not get into an argument with a teenager on the internet.
  22. Read the thread title. There are other threads about Zwift and the likes.
  23. My boxer is more interested in beer...
  24. Yeah, it gets me up all the hills - I have no issues doing bottom to top climbs in Jonkers - it just takes me alot longer than the guy with 165W more, and 25kg less than me.
  25. I am reading this chowing down on a brownie and coffee special from Merkava (coffee shop next to my work). Aint no chance of me not eating the cheese burger any time soon hahaha
