  1. At least he smiles when he sees $$$$, cyclelab guys do not even smile nor does Andrew greet prospective clients!!!
  2. Sometimes the old saying "Goedkoop is duur koop" is applicable when it comes to Hi-Fi Corp.
  3. When you intend buying at Cajees, why don't you insist on talking to the owner who is Ahmed Laher. Ahmed will not beat around the bush when it comes to pricing and he will honour what he advertises! I suggest that not matter which of his stores you visit; insist in talking pricing with Ahmed; even if it means that the store has to call him on his cell.
  4. I agree with Rock; I think this marketing pitch is going to backfire on Raleigh, the talk amongst cyclist is to get the R25K bargain; most cyclists are not interested in the RC7K and RC6K; they want this special bargain!! and quite true Raleigh can not supply these RC8K. Definately more than 90 South Africans want and can afford the RC8K ... seems potential buyers of the RC8K will look at other bicycle "specials"?
  5. Tony Impey's prices on Santini is by far the best in South Africa; in certain cases his Santini prices are cheaper than locally manufacture brands such as Anatomic, Cape Storm etc.
  6. DuraAce is value for money!!! Campag has ego/image associated to it!
  7. I have the following: Campag Record 10sp; DuraAce 9sp; Ultegra 10 Sp; 105 9Sp. 105 9Sp - Shifting struggles at times and you need to apply force for changing gears. Ultegra 10Sp - Better than 105 DuraAce 9Sp - Smooth / Soft Shifting with little effort Record 10Sp - Up and down shifting precise with little effort but you can hear a definative shift. Campag Hoods - Good grip out of the saddle Shimano Hoods - Good grip out of saddle as well as TT position Shimano down shifting when on the drops (sprinting) better than Campag. I like both my groupset.
  8. Ever thought of getting Gautengers to organise your tour???
  9. SRAM Force ...
  10. Do I sense a bit of a vibe in Western Cape???
  11. Any hubbers been using this trainer? CWC is selling it really cheap.
  12. Problem I have with CWC is that they only do telephone with direct deposit/transfer sales. Then you have to fax confirmation of deposit. Surely any internet online shopping facility should facilitate payment via web ... there should be no telephone interaction between purchaser and seller. I am sure most of CWC sales are from Gauteng Shoppers?
  13. What excellent service of Championchip. Around 13h30 the results were posted on their website!!! What a hard race the 102km was. All the POORTS hurt me, especially HEKPOORT.
  14. PROS draw sponsorship to the event ... funriders give mileage to sponsors. PROS take the prizemoney .... funriders donate to charity. PROS set the race time ... funriders enjoy the ride. PROS train harder ... funriders dont. PROS always start the race ... funriders follow. In summary ... both PROS and funriders make the RACE. Both compliments each other.
  15. Tribecca at Brooklyn Circle and Java in Lynwood, close to Bruce's shop. Offcourse these coffee shops are in PTA.
  16. Chippy ... before commenting about "moaning" I myself did alot of pacing on Saturday. What bugs me, after I paced in front, I was forced to be over the white line cause the next cyclist went to the centre line; so is that fair on me to be forced out of the bunch (by going over the centre line) after contributing at the front? For you information, I was with the Silver Fuji ...
  17. Maybe some of the cyclist needs to learn basic manners first! Some cyclist are way too arrogant ... soon we will have cycle rage at events.
  18. Congratulations to Admin for the "new" look and feel around the HUB!
  19. amateur, I was in the B-Bunch and we ahd similar problems, which I would blame the guys pacing in front. I found the guys pacing in the front came close to the centre line, with the result that the bunch had to move over the white line to stay in contention. I tried a couple of time to go to the front and move left of the road; in order to give space to the bunch.
