  1. I've always used polysporin salve and just let the thing dry out and heal. Why is keeping it moist a better option?
  2. Won't a longer crank arm be slightly more difficult to turn over at 12? Obviously the lever action will be better on the rest of the pedal stroke, but that's about the only downside I can think of.
  3. We did a 2:08 But was rough for me from start to finish. Ryan nearly killed me there
  4. Sweet dude will be there. Circus - SBR and back is around 85km
  5. At the kareekloof entrance there is a tap next to the water tank. At the main building, in the parking lot there is a tap next to a stone block (more or less middle of the 3rd of grass)
  6. For sure dude, what time and still at the Circus?
  7. What time are you planning on meeting up at the circus? 7ish?
  8. What pace are you thinking of?
  9. Very clever, but I think it's grasping for straws that aren't there. And reaction time is a bit slow, I wonder how the system will reacted to surges and sprints, if that lockout will be there or get a bit confused.
  10. Is this a short term or long term solution? I have a massage scheduled for Friday, but I'm looking to solve the cause and not just treat the pain temporarily each time.
  11. Hey guys, how do you guys treat achilles injuries, and how do you strengthen it to prevent more injuries? My calves are pretty tight, so I have started stretching them as well. I'm struggling on/off with my left tendon, every 2 weeks or so this thing is sore for a day or 2.
  12. He should come learn to suck wheel like a pro from our A batch riders
  13. I don't know how old Davids is, but I think the issue is most of the feeder teams are looking for u23 talent.
  14. If you're up to it we can try go for it the weekend the 8th of April?
  15. Ah ok, how many riders are you then? 28km/h is a decent speed for that distance. Who are the triple lap guys? Want to go stalk their Strava. Triple lap is a bit of a far reach for me mentally. I'm trying to convince myself to go from Heidelberg and do a double and head back. Will end up being around 170km, just can't find anyone who wants to come suffer with me. Triple lap is a bit of a far reach for me mentally.
  16. @Gerald, Have you guys ever done a club ride where you ride out and do a double lap and head back? If so what sort of pace do you guys ride at?
  17. I don't agree entirely, Kwaito committed to the break once they hit the flat leading to the finish, it was only QS that was instructed to sit on and try to sneak the win. Only in the final KM did he stop helping Sagan. Which is all fair. We've all seen what a kick Sagan has, you can't give that guy any opportunities bc he will take it and win
  18. He def deserves it, his performance at ToGH was very impressive
  19. I was in one of the first 3 batches to go, and yes wind was insane at the civic center, but after that it was perfectly manageable. I don't buy the wind story. It's a real pity it had to get cancelled and some people are losing big time. My mate came down to do his first CTCT and only got 19km in. 7k spent on lodging, flights etc. Gets expensive for a 19km coffee ride. I really hope the organizers can at least meet us half way with the 2018 entries, but won't hold my breath for it.
  20. Open seeded. Didn't feel brave enough for elite
  21. Today was f****** brutal. We made a break on Franschoek Pass with 12 other riders and managed to stay away up to the finish. I have new respect for the euro pros who ride the whole day in break. Feel bad for the one guy in our break, went down hard around 50km in when a pedestrian walked in front of him. Poor oke was screaming when he hit the ground, think he broke something.
  22. Were no tubular tires tested?
  23. My first as well. Just gonna take it day for day and hope I survive
  24. You freewheel outside? But seriously don't compare the 2. IDT does make you hit your zones better only if you are focused, otherwise your just tossing around inside rather than outside. A tip to make it more bearable, break your session up into intervals. If I can't do an outdoor ride I normally catch up on series and do the following: 30min warmup (z1/z2) 2 x 40min @ Tempo with 10 min recovery in between 1x 10min @ 95% FTP 30 min Cooldown (z1/z2) Gives you just under 3hrs
  25. I don't think it's too hard to go back to something better
