  1. Correct https://www.luno.com/blog/en/post/how-bitcoin-price-determined Certain things make the value take a knock (ex china blocking all CC trade made bitcoin fall from $5500 to $3100) but because it is anonymous, and unregulated (or anonymously regulated) it gains traction again easily. Current btc value is 4136 USD Was only a trial, they won't be implementing it in the near future. AFAIK Takealot does accept though. Problem is with most people ethics and morals regarding this. Because it cannot be tracked at all almost all online dark web transactions are done in CC. For a lot of people they see this as indirectly you are supporting whatever crimes are being committed there. This is also one of the biggest reasons the Governments want to crack down on this, bc no longer can currency serial numbers be traced. Not sure what your point is? It's not gambling if you do proper research. I don't expect this to be a get rich quick scheme, and it's working well enough for me now to keep my lifestyle the way I like it.
  2. You get paid for processing cryptocurrency transactions online(essentially your miner is a glorified bank teller). These transaction fees get paid into an online wallet in whichever currency you are processing for (ex Bitcoin). You then sell your bitcoin online as you would forex. That's a really vague description, but it covers the absolute basic process.
  3. Cryptocurrency wasn't around when warren buffet made his money. To get started in Forex/Bonds/Stocks you need huge(massively huge) amounts of capital to make a decent living. The first Miner cost me around 30k and it's already been made back to me.
  4. Howsit all, just wanted to find out how many cryptocurrency investers there are on the hub? What are your opinions? Methods? Tips and advice? I just ordered myself a Antminer D3 and already have a bitcoin Antminer L3+ running at home. I've got a 100mb/s fiber link with traffic prioritized for them during the day (5AM - 5PM). Doing decent so far.
  5. PC or console? does it support offline campaign mode?
  6. Anybody here playing pubg? Started playing it this week with my mates, very fun. Had a few solo games previously.
  7. Razer Core is an external GPU enclosure that works over lighting. So I've got a Gigabyte 970 G1(full gpu) in my PC that I'll be using in the enclosure
  8. So a while ago I asked for advice on new laptops. I have narrowed it down now to the razer blade stealth with the core add on(will then sell my gaming pc and use the 970 I have in there on the laptop) or the new macbook pro(with retina display) So what do you guys think? If I go mac I will keep my gaming pc, if I go razer the razer will becom my work, study and gaming notebook.
  9. Does anybody here watch Rick and Morty? It's alright(pretty ****** up) but I have a good laugh every now and then.
  10. Eh, I'm not sure on Zelda.. It doesn't shout Buy Me Anthem on the other hand
  11. I'm keen on it mainly for the co-op aspect to the games. And mariokart(hands down 1 of my top 10 fav all time games) as well as rocket league(coming soon) and Just Dance are amazing fun drinking or date night games. PS4 has co-op but it's not the same, I enjoy my solo gaming sessions and don't want to play games where I get overly competitive with the SO. We get crazy competitive when playing online together, but then she can't see me lose my **** when something goes wrong.
  12. I'm pretty much sold on the switch. Just waiting for black friday to come so I can get one.
  13. I already have a great grinder. And a aeropress. So I think I'll save up a bit and use what I have for a while, then look at one of the higher end machines. The aeropress is just a hassle when I have friends over, where our Jura does 2 cups at a time and you just press a button. I love this machine
  14. Hey guys, I'm moving into my own place end of the month. Have a budget of 5k for a coffee machine. I was looking at the Smeg esspresso machine: http://www.smeg.co.za/espresso-coffee-machine/ I already have a capsule machine, but my parents bought a Jura machine for their wedding anniversary and fresh coffee tastes way better than the capsules. Is there anything else to look at?
  15. 4 years 2 months ago I started working at my current company. I had just turned 18 when I started with them. Over the years my team had grown to become my family away from home. These people taught me everything I know as I transitioned into adulthood. Today was my last day with them. They had gotten me into cycling, loaning me a POS bike that their gardener used to start training on for the 94.7. Anyway, This morning my manager had heard me moan about the CTCT and how I couldn't afford it. She has ridden 10 consecutive rides and knew me well enough to know that I would regret not racing. My farewell gift from them was the entry fee, and travelling costs for 2018. So CTCT 2018 I guess here I come.
  16. I'm not blaming them, safety should be the number 1 priority when there are people involved. So good on them for making the unpopular choice. I mean that it's something you have to consider when doing your planning. Lets say they cancel the 94, there I lost R475, cancel the argus I lose 4k+. I'm not there for a holiday, I go there to do the race. I can't afford to take a chance on something like that. This year was different, I did the tour, so all I lost was the entry fee, my best mate flew down friday and back monday to do the race as well. That trip (guesthouses, food, flights, bike transport) set him back 7k. At this stage in my life the CTCT is a risk I'm not willing to take. My motives are entirely financially driven.
  17. Anyway thanks for the opinions. Unfortunately all races are becoming more expensive, and my yearly race budget is only so big(sponsor dad is no longer contributing), so while I think anything over R400 is ridiculous for a race there are some I just need to cut. CTCT 2018 being one of them. Maybe 2019
  18. Yes, got the dates mixed up.
  19. I live with family friends in Paarl. I will already be there for the ToGH(which personally was way more enjoyable than any CTCT I've done to date) Petrol + toll = R3000 Food = R1000 So if I ignore the ToGH entry and take it as if was just the CTCT the entry fee is around 12%
  20. Should've mentioned it's more directed at the guys not living in WC
  21. It's all I do. I don't ride the amashova, 947 is also getting steep but I have no travelling costs with that. I completely agree with you wrt to the route, but I just think it is getting waay to risky to drop that for a non refundable entry and then whatever your travel expenses are for a race thats essentially been a flop 2 years in row.
  22. Guys, I know this gets mentioned every year but do you find the R510 entry fee fair? I don't and I won't be entering this year as I just can't afford it.
  23. I have a appletv at home, with netflix, hulu, amazon tv on it. Costs 30usd a month. For sport VPN and eurosport supscription activated when I need it. So only use it for GT, classics, monuments and world champs. If I really need something I can't find on the above apps, I channel my inner Jack Sparrow. Internet is fo free(work perk) so I have 10mb line with 300gb data pm
