  1. My only experience with Cura's was on a mates DH bike in the Alps and they made the Saint's I was running on my bike feel like rim brakes in the wet. SUPER power in an amazingly small package. When the Shimano's on my Jeffsy go to the other place I'll get Cura's for sure.
  2. There I fixed it for you. But I can't comment on which is better as I've only done the Alps thing and not the Epic.
  3. Okes like that make it very difficult to defend cyclists around the braai when I have my surfer mates around.
  4. I was being facetious. But since you opened the door. He rode though the red light. The lane coming out of Llandudno was green and the car coing out of the intersection had to jump on their brakes to not hit Mr Ironman When he got hooted at he did a little dismissive wave. I guess he was asking for "tolerance" Oh and his gabba rode around the back of the same car. Light still red for him and green for the car. How should the motorists have been more tolerant in this particular interaction?
  5. On Saturday I was the oke in the double cab kukking on a cyclist for jumping the lights at Llandudno. To be fair he was on a TT bike so he doesn't really count as a cyclist. Plus being on a TT bike means he has no friends to point out the error of his ways.

Unbelievable. I wouldn't want him in my team. Recent history shows that there's no problem with the bike or the team. That leaves the rider. My laymans couch potato view. Maverick came into the Moto GP paddock with huge hype and fanfare. But he's never really lived up to it despite being on prime rides his entire career. With him going to Aprilia my prediction is toys out the pram before the end of pre season testing. Aprilia should have signed a grafter. Not a show pony.

Indeed. Double WSBK champ (and my all time favorite rider) but never won a Moto GP race. The closest he came was the last corner at Assen where He and NH69 were aiming for the same piece of tarmac. Nicky won. Colin came home in 13th.

    Who was playing?
  9. Why are you so rabidly defending someone who has a criminal record for Fraud? Fraud is Fraud. It's a criminal offence. A proper one. It's not a speeding ticket. The amount doesn't matter and neither does the value of the toys we play with on the weekend. I'm afraid that's a puerile argument. The quality of the products produced by the company don't equate to the quality of the man. So don't burn all your Leatt stuff.

I believe he raced a Yam at WSBK level in the late 80's

Kevin Schwantz has always been a Suzuki man. My thought is this is a pic of American champions. Plus Rossi. There's 1 or 2 missing tho. Roberts Junior and Eddie Lawson. And of course Nicky. RIP. Trick question. Who is the odd man out?
  12. They are worth a little more than that.
  13. Yeah..... I have some of those self same shares.
  14. I also saw a dodgy looking chap with a firearm IN HIS HAND just up from that intersection. Just saying

100%. I'm a big Rossi fan but he should have packed it in 2 years ago. Having Rossi in your team is as much a curse as it is a blessing. And him racing around for a single point every weekend must be terrible advert for the manufacturer, team and sponsors. If he still wants to race bikes then go lord it in WSBK like Max did for a year or 2.
  16. Can only comment on the stuff I've used. Zwift is GREAT. However. For pure training I rate sufferfest the better app. For a POV "experience" and the ability to have 3 family members on one subscription there's Rouvy making it very cost effective. When I've got time I need to try and figure out Golden Cheetah which is free.

He had behavioral issues before in Moto 3. He's an incredibly talented rider but I think this latest drama has effectively ended his career. I'd be surprised if anyone signs him for next year. It's hard enough for a team to develop the bikes and find the millions to run a team. Then to have your rider who you pay some of those millions behave in such an unprofessional manner is pretty poor. Most of the Moto GP and WSBK paddock would give anything to ride a works Yamaha.
  18. If you do your calcs and add in VAT and fuel levy and then add all the indirect taxes that you wouldn't need to pay if the government weren't a bunch of theiving scumbags like medical aid and private security and CID's you'll see that 60% is quite conservative.
  19. For that price point you can get the low end Garmin instict or a Suunto 5 https://navworld.co.za/product/garmin-instinct-graphite/?sfdr_ptcid=1875_617_8799369&sfdr_hash=3c958781140eb1bccde7a553573e4ea3&gclid=CjwKCAjwx8iIBhBwEiwA2quaq9w6e7Fu5OKkgJjqavt1ZtdL-4sF647uqPUB5u84LfMf9VQuNFiePhoCfZQQAvD_BwE https://www.takealot.com/suunto-5-g1-gps-sports-watch-graphite-copper/PLID55058867?gclid=CjwKCAjwx8iIBhBwEiwA2quaqz7OjXoz2pdn1rxQuSjvj_bQ3tirnBRU1FxFliyeVe5MRW1UVHMyqRoCVDAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I have a Suunto Spartan and My fiance has a Suunto 5. You can get a Suunto 5 for under 4k on takealot. Her one has the whole "body battery" thing and fitness age and a bunch of other stuff. The nice thing about them is you can set up a custom workout. for example my custom run workout I display distance, HR, Time, average pace. I have an on bike gps that I use whilst on the bike so I have something to look at but my watch is the device used to record and upload all activities. Personally I'd wouldn't buy a 2nd hand smart watch unless it was a mate. And even then.
  20. No strava connection on Huawei tho. That's a deal breaker for me.
  21. Sorry for the hijack. The part that attracts me to the Suunto 5 is that surfing is a pre loaded workout so I don't have to quickly edit my strava activity before people start to think I'm a SUPer. The part that pulls me away is that my spartan trainer is on it's way out already.
  22. @Eddy. Stay strong there boss. I'm in the market for a new device myself. I have a Suunto spartan trainer and my other half has a Suunto 5. I'm thinking about going Suunto 5 but my fiance reckons I should maybe look at another brand, My watch is on it's way out. I think water got into it somehow and I think it's a matter of time. I'd like the Garmin Instict Solar Surf but the price! Eish Baba.
  23. Even if you use those vouchers the stuff is still BEEP expensive. REALLY nice tho.
  24. Guys I said please don't get me started! Now I'm all misty eyed pouring through my vids and pics. I'm talking about the Portes Du Soleil in France. If you are on a time and money budget I reckon this is the best place to go. Well priced. Easy Access. Same timezone as us so no jetlag and 6 bikeparks in 2 countries all on the same lift pass. To answer your question. 8 full days of riding and we had half a day on the day we arrived and half a day on the last day. We flew Turkish into Geneva. Which was more expensive but we got those extra half days. Something to consider if you have time constraints. When I say a half day we did 3600m of descending from 2pm when we got on the lifts till 5.30 when they closed. We took a shared airport shuttle from the airport to Morzine so no need for a rental car. This was shared accommodation (ROCK STAR) that my mate Karl and his girlfriend sourced. I did spend 1 night in a little hotel coz the flights and Karl's accommodation didn't line up 100% but that was 40 Euro BNB. Self catering is cheap if you share. Just be careful. You don't want to stay in a chalet halfway up an Alp. The food in the supermarkets is more or less the same price as here. Some caveats. 1. I had a multi year visa 2. I don't drink so no big bar bills 3. I didn't have any hectic mechanicals A rough budget Flight 10k Accom 7k lift pass 2k Airport shuttle R700 Visa R1200 Insurance R800 food and spending money. If you stay away from the bars and restaurants 15 Euro a day will do you easily. I see you live in PE. That bikepark setup there is owned by a guy who went with Karl in 2018. Speak to him. When you see his eyes glaze over and he starts babbling you'll begin to get an idea.
  25. Please don't get me started. I've done 10 (There or thereabouts) trips to Morzine and the first morning of the first day is worth the price of the trip. My last trip cost 23k all in. That's why the old klunker DH bike won't get sold. Just incase I get to go again.
